I am finally home. We had a staff retreat today at the local community college. It felt like a long day. I knew I'd be spent from having to sit still all day. I don't sit still very well. And hours on end is just torture. But I made it.
I knew I was going to be tired. And I don't feel too tired now. Just relieved. But I told Jeremy he had to be responsible for dinner tonight. And what do we have when Jeremy is responsible for dinner? Meatloaf. So that's what's cooking.
I'm sorry I've been away. I've been just weird lately. My mood...yada, yada, yada. SSDD.

It’s so weird posting from my phone Howwww do people deal with such a small device? 😜 scrapmaven….While in traffic, I started wondering—-how are you getting any nutrition and hydration? I’m also trying to figure out how you get sufficient protein, which is so helpful in wound healing. Are you getting hyperbaric chamber treatment for your STUBBORN 😡 wound? More (( hugs )) |

The luncheon was great fun ~ it's so nice to see everyone dressed up or not. Lots of holiday cheer! The jewelry raffle went great and I won a necklace. The silent auction had some very expensive jewelry and my friend started several sheets to get things going. She *won* 3 items so I think it cost her about $1,000.  She was okay with it but wasn't thinking she'd win all 3 of them. They had 15 beautiful lanterns all decorated up so you could tag one and buy it for $20. I couldn't resist for my entry table. Here's a pic but it doesn't do it justice.  |

jeremysgirl , never feel the need to apologize. It's the holidays and you're grieving a child. If anything let us hold you in our thoughts and give you lots of love and support right now. Glad the meeting is over. scrappintoee , I can't answer you, because I have to wash my hair! Ya, I'm pretty much a Brady encyclopedia, too. In fact, that goes w/most classic shows. I think the best sitcom scene in the history of sitcom scenes was Mary Richards laughing at Chuckles the Clown's funeral. A little song. A little dance. A little seltzer in your pants... Thank goodness for HULU and the classics. I am not using hyperbaric therapy, but I know all about it. It really has to try to heal on its own.
cadoodlebug, I'm so glad that you had a nice luncheon. Enjoy your new purchase.

Hi Dinner Guests, it’s nice to see you all here. Tonight we are having Japanese chicken. I am going to make a vegetable of some sort and rice I guess.
I got my dad’s 15 year old whiskey and all is good. All presents accounted for.

lucyg I'm glad they figured out what was wrong but what is the treatment? Is there any treatment?! Treatment is diuretics to pump out all the excess fluid and keep it under control in the future. Well, that has worked well for me so far.  |

We're having the raspberry french toast thing that another pea mentioned - not even sure if it was in the dinner thread or elsewhere. It's a Barefoot Contessa recipe, and it just sounded so scrumptious that we had to try it...ostensibly to test it out as a possible contender for Christmas morning LOL. But really so that we can have delicious french toast for dinner. We'll add some sausage on the side and call it a day. (And leftovers for breakfast!) Hugs for all that need them (and really, don't we all...?)  |

lucyg.. hugs in dealing with your mom.. glad you have more info..
this is my 3rd or 4th time in australia. we are going into brisbane.. the only time I was there on a cruise, I spent a couple of hours going to a pharmacy and figuring out they do not sell neosporin over the counter.. dh had skin issues.. and wanted some.
but it will be 98 degrees and humid when we arrive. we will have a few days to hang out there.. and the cruise then goes to papua new guinea.
I went to j jill.. bought three pants and a black velvet close fitting dress. a belt at macys, and some capris in the right size at eddie bauer. I dropped about 4 sizes, so most old stuff wont work. dh will like that dress.. and yes, everything was 40% off or more.

lucyg my stepmom has had congestive heart failure for decades (she is now 95). She takes the diuretics and watches her sodium. She's pretty tough as well. I'm glad your mom can come home. scrapmaven ugh regarding the feeding tube. I hope it heals up on its own. scrappintoee Thanks for asking. Yes she can FaceTime or call. Right now with her coughing texting is best for her.

Tearisci I hope your mom can do her pump and move to the rehab. lucyg your mom sounds like she’s improving already making food demands jeremysgirl be good to yourself I came to my sister’s and am currently laying in bed worrying about my jewelry and enameling bag out in the car in her driveway. You’d think I’d learned my lesson from having my last one stolen. We had pizza from my favorite place. Surprisingly we didn’t see anyone either of us knew besides the waiter who is a friend’s son. ntsf enjoy your cruise. Congratulations on losing all those sizes.
