So I have a bad kidney infection and UTI. Started antibiotics Monday.
The abdomen and back pain is not better and now I have leg pain.
Have had kidney infections before but nothing like this.
Saw my chiropractor today and he was worried. My muscles and soft tissues are inflamed from the infections. Did some therapy but didn't help.
Anyways I put a call in to my PCP. Nurse sent it as urgent. I called to see if I should wait 1 more day or go back when dh gets home.
My question is, has any pea had a bad enough infection where nothing helped? What was done?
Toradol hasn't touched it. Allergic to almost all narcotics. And codine. Heat and ice don't help.
All other times I am doing much better after 24 hours of antibiotics. It has been 48 and no change. My right side pain has actually increased.
I feel like crap too and am very tired.

Are you 100% sure it's not a kidney stone? I was treated for a kidney infection for a few days before they had me come back and they did another round of urine tests and figured out it was not an infection but instead, a kidney stone.
Are you taking only oral antibiotics or did you also get a shot? If you are sure it's not a stone, and they did not give you an antibiotic shot, I would go back and see if they will give you a shot. Those always jumpstart my healing. If I am only on oral antibiotics then it can take me 3-4 days to feel better.
Im sorry you are suffering. It sucks to not be able to feel good.

I ended up on a three day hospital stay after an inflamed ureter turned into sepsis.

I was coming to say the same as @pilcas. My UTIs have become antibiotic resistant and I have had to use stronger ones the last couple I have had. I too, ended up in the hospital.

oh man. I hope you get in to see a full on medical doctor soon. I get frequent uti's (maybe one or two a year) and I'm worried because the last two times the antibiotics took longer to work for me and they really messed with my gut.
I did learn to take Pro-biotics at the same time this time which helped some, but I've never had it go as far as a kidney infection, I'm a wuss and I call the doc for a script right away.
Feel better soon, sorry you are so ill.

Have the cultured the bacteria? That has helped before with resistant infections because they can better select the appropriate antibiotic. Hope you feel better soon!

If you don’t hear back soon, I’d go to urgent care. Did they do a culture when you were I initially diagnosed? It could be that you need a different antibiotic.

Primary said get back in.
It is multiflora so different bacteria.
Moderate kidney infection per labs.
I had 3 CT scans - abdomen, spine, and angiography (eas born with a CHD and they were concerned about my aorta).
Also had an u/s.
All of those were clear.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I don't think it's unusual to be hospitalized for this, so you can get IV antibiotics.

I am back home! Repeat labs and u/a with repeat looks at 3 CTs and then this time 2 pelvic u/s were done.
Antibiotics are working per labs and u/s. CTs are still clear. U/s were clear as well.
I did get a 500mg dose of muscle relaxer there and that helped with the spasms. So they sent in an rx and I am taking that 7 days.
That has helped a lot.
So things are going in the right direction and I go back to my chiropractor today to work on loosening the inflammation in my soft tissues from the infection. Went yesterday too.
