Good morning.
Today I have a dentist appointment. I hate the dentist, but love the fresh feeling after a cleaning.
I'll pull out turkey meatballs and sauce from the freezer. Dh can have that w/a salad and if he wants french bread I'll pick it up, too.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone doing this weekend? It's a quiet at-home weekend for us. I will bake and work on my latest puzzle.
lucyg, how is your mom? I'm thinking of you.

Happy Friday!
I'm on the fence for dinner tonight. Part of me wants to get Ramen as it's cold and dreary here in DFW but then I have leftover steak from last night that I should use up. Decisions, decisions.
It should be a pretty chill weekend for me. We've got an extended family Christmas party on Sunday but I think I might finally get in the spirit with wrapping presents and getting my house in order for the holidays. I decorated early but with all the stuff going on with my parents, it hasn't seemed like Christmas to me yet. Hopefully, this will put me more in the mood.

It’s been another cold, dreary day here.
After dinner last night, my friend and I discussed meeting up again today, but her daughter wasn’t feeling well, so they stayed in. I met up with another friend in the city for lunch at the Christmas markets, then came home after a bit more shopping. By e time I got home, I was freezing, so I am now hunkered down for the evening.
Sophia’s godmother flew into Munich this afternoon and we have plans to meet up with her on Sunday after church. DH will probably drive her out to the airport after that. Apart from that, we have nothing planned beyond the usual grocery shop and tidying up.
DH is coming home from Sweden tonight, but his flight is delayed - so far by just over an hour. That means he won’t land until about 9:30, so he’ll be fairly late home.
As I’m on my own, I am just going to heat up a pizza for dinner tonight.

I'm mailing the last of my Christmas cards this morning. I have a little shopping to do then will come home and continue decorating and will wrap Christmas presents. I came home from Crazy Rummy on Monday to find 8 wrapped presents under the tree for me. DH waits until I leave the house for a few hours to wrap. We have a wrapping *station* in a corner of the bonus room. Card table, chair, paper, ribbon, gift bags, tags, tape, pen & scissors.  It's where DS's home office was when he would stay weeks at a time during Covid. Dinner might be steak bites in the air fryer. I've never tried doing them so I hope it works. TGIF everyone!  |

I hope that they're feeling better and that your mom is improving in rehab. sueg, have a fun weekend and enjoy your time w/Sophia's Godmother. cadoodlebug, If I send you all of my presesnts will you please wrap them and send them back to me?  I am the world's sloppiest gift wrapper. My packages look like a 5 year old wrapped them. I'll bet your cards are really sweet and cute.

It’s a beautiful sunny day here with a temp of 10 degrees Celsius. I’ve been out in the backyard playing soccer with Walker. He’s hilarious batting the ball around with his nose and paws.
I’m going to wrap more presents this afternoon. DH apparently did some wrapping while I was out last night since the wrapping paraphernalia is not where I left it. I told him not to buy me anything else since I got my new ring but he knows that I will need something to open on Christmas morning.
Last night I had dinner with another group of former coworkers. I had a barbeque chicken flatbread which was delicious.
Not sure about supper tonight yet.

Tearisci , how are your parents doing? I hope that they're feeling better and that your mom is improving in rehab. Thanks for asking! They're doing OK-ish. My mom has a lot of confusion and asks if this is real or a dream. I'm going to take her lunch today and sit with her for awhile. Dad is nauseous but ate some dinner that I took to him last night. I hope that goes away for him soon. |

Tearisci , sounds like your mom has a lot of healing to do. Taking her out and spending time w/her is very healing, but I'm sure it's stressful for you. Your poor dad. I'm thinking healing thoughts for both of your parents.

TGIF! I'm on a conference call that really doesn't apply to me so here I am.
Going to finish up shopping tomorrow. Just have a few gift cards to get for stocking stuffers. Must go to the grocery store tomorrow. Hoping to get everything I can minus the fresh produce for all the Christmas meals. Then I hope to finish wrapping. Sunday is DH's family Christmas. We will go to his sister's.
Poor DH. I had left my empty jar of lotion on his bathroom counter and said here is a gift idea for me. He went to Ulta to purchase it and of course they were out. Said they would order it for him. They asked him if there was a telephone number he wanted to use. He said maybe my wife's. Sure enough she entered it and said great she will get points. He told her this was a gift for me and asked if I would know. She told him I would not. When he is finished paying he asks for a receipt. She tells him it was emailed. Of course it was emailed to me. I figure out what is going on but don't tell him. It arrives and it is the wrong lotion. He gets lots of points for trying!
No idea for dinner...

I'm having a super lazy day! There are a few deliveries that I am waiting for ... two that were meant to be here on Wednesday ... no idea when I will receive them!  One is actually for my mum so she is waiting to hear from me that it is here ... she left her cell phone here last night by accident so she is picking both things up at the same time ... if the package ever shows up! I didn't end up seeing my girlfriend on Wednesday ... we're going to try for this evening ... depends how she feels ... I'll talk to her soon and find out ... if we do get together, we are going for Italian food and then back to my place for Netflix  |

stormsts , your dh is a good guy. Year ago dh wanted to surprise me w/tix to Les Miserable. The boys were little and dh arranged w/sil to babysit so that he could surprise me w/a night out and overnight stay in the city. Well, dh forgot that I always open the credit card statement and check it when it comes. When I went into his office to tell him that someone stole our credit card number and ordered theater tix the jig was up. It was a really fantastic date night, anyway.

I am just back from getting my nails done...they were in desperate need😱 They are now a pretty Christmas red.
I hit Costco, the fish market and the mall ...so I think I am done...I just needed a GC for our letter carrier, and I got it at Double Bull Tap Room at the mall.
So dinner is organic king salmon...and a salad, maybe and a veggie...green in nature. I have multiple to choose from.
This weekend will be getting the last of the cards done....and perhaps starting one of the Baby albums I am going to make as a gift for a friend.
I'm worried about my Gracie...she didn't want to eat this morning, not even the 1/4 cup of wet food I give her with her meds. We got a short way into our walk and she had enough, so we came home. She has been sleeping all morning..
When I got back she wanted out and she is now sleeping in the yard on the cold ground. I really hope it is just a GI upset of sorts. Although no vomiting, or diarrhea. If this continues I will call her vet.

Do you remember me telling you about my car freshner with my head? I received it yesterday so it did not make my white elephant gift for the cousin's party so I will give it to SO! I forgot to take a picture last night so I will so that later and post it. Think 80's hair... We will be shopping this weekend to finish up everyone. Some adults and kids. And I plan on baking and wrapping presents if I can - I need to get more paper. I love wrapping gifts scrapmaven ! You can send them to me! I worked at a gift store and we offered wrapping. I learn there and to this day I use 3 pieces of tape on each gift.  Dinner was out last night, and I am sure it will be something take out tonight! I finished almost all my cards and got them in the mail this morning. Just a few more to do. karenlou - I hope Gracie feels better and you can avoid the vet.  |

karenlou , I will send healing thoughts to Gracie. Feel better, sweet doggie. scrappert , my gifts and wrapping supplies are on their way. I used to work as a p/t floater at a department store during college. They sent me to the gift wrap dept. After that night I was asked to never come back to that department. First of all, no one trained me. Secondly, they were smart! I would love to see your air freshener gift.

karenlou I pray Gracie feels better. Target sells a dog bone broth in the dog aisle if you need any. We did chicken breast and rice often when our dog was off with some broth. The instant pot is great for that. Makes a lot of broth too.

Happy Friday! I am going to lunch with my bestie today and we are exchanging Christmas gifts. I woke up super early this morning (on my own) and baked fresh Snickerdoodles to add to her gift. Her dh will appreciate it since she NEVER bakes!! lol!!! I usually make him peanut brittle but, I just am not up for it this year. My oldest son came by this morning to start his laundry and was thrilled to see that I had made snickerdoodles. He said he dreamed that I made them!! All the gifts that I intended to wrap yesterday got done!! Woo hoo!! I have a few more things to shop for and a couple gift cards and then I am done!! We are expecting another snowstorm to blow through this afternoon. MORE SNOW!!! karenlou I hope your pup feels better soon. stormsts Your dh gets a lot of points for trying to get you that cream! |

Ok so update. This dog is named Ellie. She is a golden doodle she is just the sweetest thing. Terrified of cats. Jeremy just really loved her so we brought her home. Tonight's dinner will be Culver's I think. Jeremy wants one of their burgers. I have done absolutely nothing that moves me closer to making cookies tomorrow. Lol.  |

jeremysgirl what a cutie!! Adorable picture of you two. Ellie is a lucky little pup to get you two. She really is cute!!! Both goldens and poodles are so smart they make for a fun dog. My DH is such a goof ball. While I was getting my hair done, he took our fluff ball to the self bathing pet store and afterwards he came to my salon with him. He's standing outside with the dog looking in, oblivious to the fact that without my glasses from that distance I can't see him. LOL He finally sent me a text and fortunately I was wearing my apple watch. The hair stylist waved him and Finn in to visit. Too funny. My hair stylist gave me a gift of an italian liqueur and some shortbread cookies. I was so touched by the gift. And of course I did a bigger tip at Christmas. I stopped at Target and did some shopping and found a cute sweater that Finn's hair won't show up while I'm wearing it. LOL It's a boyfriend oversize style and oh so comfy.

Mom is doing fine at my sister’s house for now. We have an appointment with her cardiologist on Tuesday. She’ll probably be okay to go home around then, too. scrapmavenDinner was odds & ends I threw together. But at least I started my tuscano soup. lucyg , I'm thinking about you today. , thanks so much for thinking of me. I’m really glad we did the remembrance thing today. |
