An iPhone 15 Pro, and I am very happy! When I was sitting in Tesco with the (very) young woman who was arranging my contract, she said to me that my kids could help me set it up!!! Yeah, I’m not that old. 😠
Later in the evening I sat down to set it up, still indignant at being thought too decrepit to do it myself, and… I couldn’t work out how to open the box. 🤦🏼♀️😂

I am that old. I need my adult kids to show me how to do a lot of tech stuff. Then I give up and just let them do it.
Enjoy your new iPhone.

It's a good thing that I'm pretty tech savvy because if I had to depend on my millennial DD I would be up the proverbial creek! I keep telling her they are going to revoke her Millennial card. Hope that you like the 15 Pro. All the feedback I've heard is great. It's on my list for an upgrade in the Spring.

That is so funny! I pride myself on my tech savvy... but sometimes I have to go in a dark room and google how to do things. LOL I still have the 12 Max Pro, but I love it. Best thing I did was change my camera and video settings to the highest quality possible. I did put a case on right away, but didn't put the glass cover on. Dammit - scratched it within a couple days. Why do I think I can have nice things?

My husband’s last corporate job was VP of IT. I still have to set up his phone for him. He’s only 53. 🤦🏻♀️

I just upgraded from 11 to 14 and my ringer wasn't working. I checked all my settings but couldn't get it working. I handed my phone off to my DD and ranted about the new phone not ringing. She looked at it, looked at me, then flipped the little switch on the side that sets it to silent Yes I felt pretty darn stupid! Yes I know my 11 had the same switch, I just never used it so didn't even think about it.

I cried yesterday because I was so frustrated by tech. Ds got home college last night and first order of business was helping me. He's really sweet about, but I'm sure he eye rolls the second I look away. 🙄

Yep kids are super useful when you need them. I try really hard to keep up with technology as much as I can anyways.

I am determined not to get to the point where I have to ask my kids for help with tech. I don't want to be left behind.
I picked up my iPhone 15 Pro Max last month. The guy in the shop didn't even ask if I wanted help transferring everything from one phone to the other. Maybe he thought I looked capable? Or maybe he was lazy / too busy to offer! When I got home I had a moment of panic when I realised I had no idea what to do, but google to the rescue, and I managed to do it myself.
But yeah, those boxes can be a bitch to open!
Now, if someone can tell me whether to stick the MagSafe ring I just bought to the phone or the inside or the outside of the phone case, so I don't have to ask my kids, I would be most appreciative.

I have a MagSafe charger and a compatible MagSafe case from Apple- it goes on the outside of the case. You can feel it magnetize to the changer/case. Although I really like MagSafe, I will say the Apple MagSafe case is the crappiest case I’ve ever had. It’s was like $50 and has all kinds of chips/dings in it and dd’s is the same way (and I am not hard on my phone).

Aged unsavvy person here. Doesn't the 15 Pro Max have MagSafe built in so you don't need a ring? And it works through most cases? But might be a bit slower? I ask because I have a 13 Pro and I got a magsafe charger a couple of weeks ago and assumed I needed a ring so bought a case with an inbuilt one. It works well but I read something that told me 13 and upwards, maybe 11 or 12 even, have magsafe incorporated into the phone and a ring was unnecessary. So I replaced the case that had the ring with my existing case and the charger works through that. I might be talking absolute tosh and am willing to be educated especially if I am inadvertently frying my phone.

I got the 15 pro max last week.
But it won't connect to my car play. I have a toyota. My son said he would check on it.
My dd came in and I a sked about her 15 and car and she says she can't use her steering wheel controls for her phone. She has a honda.
Any help? My son says it's user error.

Apple has changed the boxes. I experienced it when I got mom's ipad and my apple watch around BF. Took a second to figure out how to open them.

Yes it does have the MagSafe built in, but it doesn't work through my phone case. I bought a phone case that I loved from an indigenous artist (it matches my cushions haha!). They had cases with built in MagSafe on every model except the 15 Pro Max. She couldn't tell me when they would be available, so I just bought a non-MagSafe one. I should have waited, and just bought a cheap cover in the meantime.
