Interesting that the boy thinks his mother is a bit "off." Since the grandmother had custody, he may be correct. No mention of the father.

I haven't heard about Alex Batty before. I hope that he can start living a normal life when he returns to the UK.

May he thrive when he gets home to his grandmother!

I’m curious to see if his mother and grandfather are traced arrested or at least questioned about the events.

I’m curious to see if his mother and grandfather are traced arrested or at least questioned about the events. I thought I read that the boy thought the granddad died six months ago but he didn't go to the funeral but who really knows. I'm assuming that the mother and grandfather have British passports which gives them two problems, it will be hard to renew them as they will need to give an address and will I assume be flagged on the system. Plus if they are involved with any police force in the EU they will have overstayed their allotted stay, as per Brexit rules and by all rights should be deported back to the UK. My understanding is that only the British police force is investigating, the French official said there was no investigation in Spain, Morocco or France. Off grid in the South of France sounds way more attractive than off grid in Finland in the winter. I really hope the press allow him to go home without being on their doorstep. He needs time to adjust back and make decisions for his future.

I read the article and wondered whether, if the mother disappeared along with the son, they suspected she had kidnapped him. I hope he is able to reclaim his life. He sounds mature for his age.
