Must have been mentally issues. I feel bad for the 5 children and family she left. Not knowing where she was for 20 years.

I think highly of the townspeople who let her be. Whatever her reasons for wanting to live like that she didn't owe anyone an explanation. Her life seemed to be the epitome of freedom of choice.

We had a town nomad named Grover. Just like Judy, he didn’t take handouts. Everyone in town knew him. Grover rode a bike everywhere he went. A couple of years ago someone stole his bike. A local man found it, gave it a new paint job, and returned it to Grover. He passed away last winter, from old age and exposure. I miss seeing him around town.
