Would you consider voting for Haley in the primaries, and Biden in the general? I considered voting for Kasich in the 2016 primaries to deter Trump, but was too excited to vote for Hillary in the primaries too. I think there is a greater chance that Biden would lose to Haley than that Biden would lose to Trump. I think there are way too many people who would see Haley as less bad than Trump, and would vote for her because they think Biden is too old. I don’t like Haley's positions on pretty much everything and I’m another who is petty enough to not want the first woman President to be a Republican.

I just watched a clip of Steve Bannon speaking at some Turning Point USA Christian Nationalist convention, and he had the whole crowd shouting “F#ck her!” in regards to Nikki Haley—so I’m not so sure how popular she is with Republicans.

If I had to guess - Bannon, Charlie Kirk and other supporters of the former guy are mad that some of the big money in the Republican Party is now going to Haley. I think the not Trump crowd gave up on DeSantis and is shifting to Haley. Can you imagine how mad they would all be if a woman Republican beat Trump in the primaries? Not a likely scenario and not necessarily one that I would want, but it is fun to imagine Trump losing to a woman. Her numbers are climbing here in NH. Our governor who is a mostly reasonable guy and well liked endorsed her.

Despite some of her stances and weakness, I would much prefer Haley over Trump. Plus candidates are almost always further left/right during the primaries and then move to the middle for the general election. She is saying things that sadly appeal to the Republican base. It would be interesting to see if this happened with Haley, but it's a slim chance she will get the nomination.
Biden might not win in a Trump-Biden matchup. Democratic turnout could be lower with certain demographics. There could be a third party candidate that is more likely to pull votes from Biden than Trump.

To me it seems like she is trying to appear more moderate, especially on issues like abortion, than what she has been in the past.

I just want the America that I grew up in. Things have to change, what is happening in today's world makes me sick.

I just want the America that I grew up in. Things have to change, what is happening in today's world makes me sick. An anti-racist educator account I follow posted that what we are seeing in our country is the death throes of a supremacist society. Makes sense to me. A bunch of old (and some younger!) white guys are living in fear because they've read the writing on the wall: their time is done. So, the white men say, let's mess with voters' rights and gerrymandering. Let's control the women by making them have babies, and even deny abortion in the most obvious and extreme cases (Kate Cox). Let's strip the rights of those scary LGBTQA+ people. Let's elect an authoritarian dictator who will return us to "the good old days" when white men called the shots, did what they wanted, and were not held accountable. They are grasping at straws. Their hold on their perceived power is slipping away. It'll probably get uglier than it is right now, but my hope is that this is a breakthrough to a more just and equitable society.

I keep hoping this is an extinction burst.

I'm not a fan of Christie but he has a point I agree. She is not stupid; she knew the answer. This was pandering and it stinks. And this is why I won’t vote for any Republicans now. Even the smart ones have to pander to a crazy base. Would Haley be better than Trump? Sure. I am voting for Biden, but if she were the candidate and got elected, I wouldn’t like it, but at least I wouldn’t have nightmares about the end of democracy.

Anyone who identifies as a republican is racist. Period. Notice that I did not say conservative. Conservatives are not necessarily racist but republicans are 100%. No one who is not a racist would have anything to do with that party.

Jill Stein is back in the picture. Hopefully she won’t pull too many votes. Maybe Cornel West would. I have no idea right now if either of them have any sort of base. Likewise with Bobby Kennedy. Maybe the anti-vax crowd? Who knows? But it is worrisome.

Here's a little insider info from my son, a recruiter. He is having a hard time finding eligible recruits. It is hard to find the ones that can pass the ASVAB. I don't know if it is across the board or just the Navy but they had to lower the pass score. Some can't pass the physical part. So don't blame it on gender pronoun classes at all Nikki.
