Before the MISTI-mafia comes in to attack, here are my disclaimers: I once owned a MISTI. This was before the Stamparatus came out. The hinge broke. I sent an email. I sent another email. I sent more emails. No one responded to my emails. No glue could fix that MISTI. I threw it away. I am more than disgusted with all the legal shenanigans MSP has engaged in. It is bullying, plain and simple. I will never buy another MSP product. Now that that is out there, I also bring forward that I am "banned for life" from SCS and I believe I am in good company. I challenged the all-powerful Lydia on a decision and I was out. I still go there to look around to see if Lydia is still an a-hole (she is) This past weekend there was a post from some lady in Canada who said the hinge broke on her 8 year old MISTI and wanted to know how to fix it. Then she said Lydia, who she claims works at MSP, sent her a brand new one for nothing. Someone else said Lydia is SCS and Iliana is MSP. This infuriated the Canadian woman. Long Story. I believe it is in the Tools and Products Board. My question is: is there a warranty on MISTI? 8 years? Why is no one else getting their broken product replaced? Does Lydia work at MSP? Or is the Canadian poster a big, fat liar?

Wow! I can't imagine anything having an 8-year warranty in this day and age.

I also challenged the Great and Powerful Wizard of SCS, but I chose to leave before she kicked me off. I refuse to be a member of a forum that censors out the names of companies they don't want you to support, like Temu and Ali Express. I have mixed feelings about them, but I am an adult and don't need someone "protecting me" by not permitting anyone to use their names. She got really nasty with me when I challenged her law.
Not trying to hijack, so please don't hand-slap me, LOL!

Maybe it was less a warranty replacement and more a reward for bashing the Stamparatus and enforcing topicality.

Personally, I think the original poster is a big fat liar.
I also noticed the great and powerful Lydia has blurred out the Temu name. While I have mixed feelings about supporting these knock off companies, I have no hesitation when it comes to that stinking petunia company. Let her try to go after the Chinese companies. Heck, for $5.00 I might go looking there.

I am thrilled with my AE knock off. Still love my Stamparatus, too, though. Different tools, different strengths and weaknesses.

I don't believe MSP has any sort of warranty. I say that because back in the day, nobody could get their MISTI replaced/fixed. I don't think now that she has the market cornered on stamp positioner tools that the customer service would get any better. I do not believe MSP replaced an 8 year old MISTI. Maybe Lydia sent the poster a MISTI? Lydia might "work" for MISTI, I mean she's a moderator at SCS, Share Handmade Kindness, on several design teams (which blows my mind), etc. She'll do whatever she can to insert herself right in the middle of the industry. Honestly, I try to ignore anything that has to do with Lydia. She single handedly ruined SCS. I haven't visited that site in many years. She shadow banned me for posting a link to a Stampin up catalog before it was released. Keep in mind at the time there were no rules against this. Personally, I think she is a horrible person who probably has zero control in her personal life which is why she is such a control freak on-line. I have not purchased a knockoff Misti from AE or Temu...yet.

Slight hijack here.
I used to really like that site. I don’t know if any one person single handedly ruined it, but I stopped going there ages ago. The tutorials were still there the last time I checked, and I continued to check their tutorials section for a long time, even after I stopped visiting their message board, but now I typically just check YouTube. No bad attitudes to deal with, and no cat fights.
When I used to go there, they had nice tutorials, and people who would answer questions, even if you weren’t a regular. Something changed, even before the MISTI conflict arose. As for the current question, do I think they really replaced an 8 year old MISTI? It seems questionable at best, unless it was a PR stunt.

The entire post has now disappeared. Which leads us to your post Scrapnana......
There is a huge issue with that site and it is almost exclusively on the "Community Manager" there. Between the over-moderating, hand-slapping, playing favorites, and MANY posters being banned, most of the best posters have either left or been "banned for life" or some such nonsense. I believe the "Community Manager" has no control of her personal life and this has encouraged her overbearing attitude. I was banned for asking what was the point of having two separate forums in Current Events..... a right-leaning and left-leaning. Instant ban with a nasty email saying she was in charge of this website and she will make the decisions. I go there to look around sometimes but, of course, can't post. In the past, there were five or six "Platinum Partnere" including Stamp-n-Storage who are one of my favorite companies. Now there is just one Platinum Partner. Guess who? MSP
HOWEVER, I suspect SplitCoastStampers is on it's last leg. At the end of August, the parent company Internet Brands got rid of two of the three paid employees, leaving only the "Community Manager" aka Lydia. IMO she is the one they should have let go. I feel she has almost singlehandedly ruined that site! She is now begging people to volunteer to help her HAHAHAHAHAHA You can read this whole story on the SCS home page.
I doubt they have another year left. I am so glad to have found this page! I have spent hours looking around! Seems like great people and I hope it will grow!
Last, the great and powerful Lydia was once a rising demonstrator at Stampin Up. She had a team and enough of a rank to qualify for their special events. Then she abruptly quit. I know the back story on that one too! For now, let's just say SU has rules for a reason and even if you think your fellow demonstrators are your "friends" (this means you, Lydia), they will raise plenty of stink if you don't follow those rules.
Rant Over.

I guess that's when she left SU.

Wow, Splitcoast Stampers looks like a ghost town compared to back in the day!
I got booted or blocked back in the early misti days because I didn’t like how she treated people.

Anyone else find it odd that this is the only thread the OP has posted on. Makes me wonder what kind of crap she was trying to start or what minions she wanted to rile up.

It can be hard to tell if your "normal meter" has been broken by an abusive environment. Sounds pretty apologetic to me, with a bit of defensiveness thrown in. Tone is incredibly hard to determine with words alone.

Tone is incredibly hard to determine with words alone. Ouch! I assure you I am not trying to rile up minions, whatever that means. I have peeked in here a few times but, well, Christmas you know. I have also had all three of my adult offspring and their offspring home. One of those has not been here since 2021. So I have been busy. Not that I feel I need to explain it to anyone but since you "wonder" I am also using my user name that I used on SCS before I was banned. Several people here might remember me. You obviously don't. I recognize the former RiverIsis for one. If you want to head over to SCS, you will see my gallery is still there and there are several pictures of my studio in there. You can see my card catalog that I love and also the empty Girl Scout cookie boxes, which I also love. LOL Years ago, I posted on Two Peas in a Bucket. Prior to that, I posted on StampinScrappin.com Both those sites are gone. I take offense at your comment. You clearly don't know me. I had looked around here a bit over a couple years but did not register. Now I did. That may have been a mistake.
I have been a SU demonstrator for nearly 10 years. I make ZERO monies at it. I buy for myself and share my discount with family and friends. I came here this morning to see what people think about the SAB offerings. I also am considering a Brother Scan-n-Cut and was going to see what people thought of that. Then I find someone "finds it odd" that I posted before Christmas and then had company and did not post again. wow. It seems all these message boards have their own judgemental "mean girls" and one of them here found me and somehow "finds it odd" I have looked around enough to see that people delete their accounts here because of this behavior. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Embri, I appreciated your non-judgemental response. The quote should have been on the comment above yours but I don’t know how to change that. I am sorry to you.

westiemom , don't go. I have rarely gone to SCS, but I feel like I remember your user name if it was the same at Two Peas. Pantsonfire is ok. Just maybe a bit more suspicious than others when she posted. I would not consider her a mean girl. Really. Not all of us thought you were trying to start something. It doesn't take much to look around and see that there is some company bashing around here. It's not like we are angels. It would be nice if you stayed and shared some of your creations here.

No apologies needed - for what it's worth, nothing about your posts came across as incitement to me. The vast majority of folks here are pretty chill and won't gets their panties in a twist for callin' a spade a spade. I mean, the misti lady's more commonly called "stinky flower"; that'd never fly over on SCS. I wasn't there long - thank goodness - but from the little I experienced it was kinda judgey and rife with toxic positivity. Which is why I figured you might have experienced a bunch of that.
I don't know where pantsonfire got the whole drama/minions angle, other than opening with a "controversial" (except not really at all for 2peas) topic. Real headscratcher.

westiemom, please stick around. Most here are pretty nice. I feel really sad whenever someone leaves. One such individual was also from the old board and had come here with the rest of us. She was extremely knowledgeable about electronic cutters, and very computer savvy. She was always willing to help. Someone here got upset over something she said (in a thread that was reportedly a very negative thread overall). Apparently they said some very hurtful things to her, and it was at a time when she was going through a lot of challenges, so she deleted her account here. I avoided that thread, so I didn’t see what happened. I realized pretty quick, though, that she was suddenly gone. Many of us felt her leaving the board was a significant loss. All her helpfulness, knowledge, and expertise disappeared with her. I saw nothing wrong with your thread. Considering what happened to your MISTI, and considering the claim at SCS, I think your question here was more than valid, especially since this is one place where MSP and her allies have little to no influence. I hope you’ll stay.

If we're thinking about the same person, she was actually who pointed me over here, from SCS. Miss her too, but I can't begrudge anyone doing what's best for themselves emotionally. Sometimes that means stepping back.

Unfortunately, she didn’t just step back for awhile. She deleted her account and walked away completely. She was one of two who were the most knowledgeable about a wide variety of electronic cutters and their software. The other one doesn’t seem to come here anymore, either, unfortunately, although I don’t know if the reasons were similar or completely different. I know that life happens to all of us. My DH had back surgery three years ago, then a heart attack that nearly killed him. I became a caregiver, and I just haven’t had the time or energy for spending as much time here. I no longer stay on top of the cutter market the way I used to. Even when I did, I ranked third at best when it came to being able to help those who asked questions about electronic cutters, so I definitely noticed when the two most knowledgeable as far as machines and software stopped coming. Overall, most here are caring and helpful IMO.

westiemom - I too look at new users through a different lens, trying to decide whether they only came here to stir up some controversy, and I did NOT get any of that from your post! I found it very interesting and legitimate. Please stay! Sorry I didn't respond to you earlier, but I never was a member of SCS and avoided the Misti right from the beginning of the woes with the owner. (I think?) we're a pretty good bunch here! And yes...sad when peas leave. I feel very invested in everyone.
