It was pointed out tonight, and thought it when the hearing started but had to leave for a doctor's appointment, how TFG felt when he sat down and realized he was facing three women judges... And the one who scored the 'seal team' assignations discussion, was of Asian decent, was she considering that she and her children or the people who he claims are 'poisoning the blood' of our nation? And Judge Childes was next in line with Biden appointing Justice Jackson. So glad he was probably squirming inside knowing his lawyers were not scoring the points he wanted!?!?!?

Thoughts about TFG threat to do closing arguments in fraud case before Judge Engoron.. Appearing on MSNBC's "The Last Word" with Lawrence O'Donnell Tuesday night, former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann explained the potentially catastrophic wrinkle in the 45th president's plan to deliver a final soliloquy in court to save his business. That is, if he intends to speak up during the closing arguments of his case — where he, his adult sons Don Jr. and Eric, along with execs and the Trump Organization stand accused of committing widespread fraud to secure favorable loans and deals — he opens himself up to be questioned by prosecutors. "I think one of the best things for prosecutor in this case will be if he takes the stand," Weissmann explained. "It's not allowed; even if you are there and you decide you're going to do it, if you start testifying you either are cut off or you’re subject to cross-examination. So you just can't start talking at closing and say this is Trump may be saying this now what happened. If you do that, you hop on the stand and the other side gets to cross-examine you."www.rawstory.com/trump-fraud-trial-2666914100/

Thoughts about TFG threat to do closing arguments in fraud case before Judge Engoron.. I think every democratic lawyer in the country started saying, "Oh, please, please, please...." Snicker. The other chuckle is that TFG always acts as if he knows the law (and most things, actually) better than anybody, just because he's been surrounded by lawyers his whole life. They went to school for many years and took challenging tests to get to call themselves lawyers--it doesn't convey to him via osmosis.

Trump wouldn't go along with the judge's restrictions so he changed his mind and decided he wouldn't testify in the civil fraud case www.nytimes.com/2024/01/10/nyregion/trump-fraud-trial-closing-arguments.htmlTrump Won’t Give Closing Argument at Fraud Trial After Judge Sets Limits The former president’s lawyer said he could not abide by limitations set by the judge in the civil fraud case. “I will not hesitate to cut him off,” wrote Justice Arthur F. Engoron.
Donald J. Trump backed down from delivering his own closing argument in his civil fraud trial after refusing to abide by a judge’s restrictions — including that he not give “a campaign speech” — in the latest clash between Mr. Trump’s political aims and American legal norms.
Mr. Trump, who considers himself his own best spokesman, had planned to address the court during closing arguments on Thursday. But one of his lawyers called limits imposed by the judge, Arthur F. Engoron, unacceptable.

CNN Engoron is ALLOWING TFG TO SPEAK CLOSING ARGUMENTS...
They are saying he is delivering a monologue... Financials are perfect. I did nothing wrong.o Manufactured claims. Political.
All his normal claims..
Lunch break..
Scheduled comments at one of his properties at 2:30
He was allowed to say what ever he wanted to say. Knocked Janes and the Judge
What happened to the fines.
Now MSNBC is saying that the judged caved to prevent TFG winning the appeal.. although ... Establish a clear record.

Trump's closing arguments in the civil fraud case. Oh... Weiselberg may have a problem... Judge Arthur Engoron asked New York Attorney General's office attorney Kevin Wallace to explain his position that the severance payment was noteworthy, MSNBC's Lisa Rubin said Thursday. "Why is it suspicious?" Engoron asked. Wallace's argued it could be considered a reward after Weisselberg "took the complete fall" for the Trump Organization, Rubin reports. "The amounts are suspicious because of the timing and the conditions," Rubin wrote, again summarizing Wallace. "The agreement says don’t go talking to the authorities." www.rawstory.com/weisselberg-trump-organization/

I have no idea why the judge allowed TFG to speak, as nothing thoughtful, adult, or helpful would be said. Maybe TFG's maniacs menaced his grandchildren, as he'd already been through a bomb threat and didn't cower. The behaviors displayed by TFG, then his *attorney (*I doubt she'll keep that credential for long), were infantile.

It’s to minimize the possibility of a successful appeal. And this case is being tried to the judge- there isn’t a jury to be influenced by Trumps bluster and bullshit so there is a smaller chance of him unduly influencing the outcome. The judge knows what’s allowed and what is not allowed to be considered and it the decider of credibility. This judge has already indicated by his previous rumblings that he doesn’t find Trump credible at all.

TFG thanks to Gambino family didn't go over well... Former federal prosecutor Ron Filipkowski called Trump out. "Trump thanks Gambino Crime Family mobster, rat, and serial liar Sammy 'the Bull' Gravano, who confessed to 19 murders and countless kidnappings, armed robberies, burglaries & 1000s of other felonies, for vouching for him," Filipkowski wrote. "Trump's new character witness." Another popular liberal account wrote, "This mornin’ Donald Trump used notorious mobster Sammy the Bull as a character reference. There ain’t a writer alive that could make up stuff this crazy." A political satirist wrote, "Trump's character witness list will extend from Sammy the Bull to Bernie Madoff, Ghislaine Maxwell, David Duke, Bill Cosby, Joran van der Sloot, and the former executives at Enron." The Intellectualist wrote, "Trump is using Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano as a character witness. If you recall, Gravano is a former hitman for the Gambino Crime Family and a convicted mass murderer." www.rawstory.com/trump-sammy-the-bull-character-witness/

Worth a listen!! youtu.be/PEBiCkLVcBc?si=oicMKau1dfBUdp-kWhen Donald Trump's attorney argued that the former president should be immune from any prosecution as long as he wasn't removed from office over it, the world laughed, but a former prosecutor said Saturday that the argument could have had a purpose. Trump's attorney specifically claimed that Trump could issue an order to have Seal Team 6 kill his political opponent and, as long as he isn't impeached over it, he can never be prosecuted. That argument might not be as ridiculous as it sounds when you consider its purpose, according to former Brooklyn, N.Y., prosecutor Charles Coleman. Coleman appeared on MSNBC's The Saturday Show With Jonathan Capehart, where he was asked about the controversial argument. After calling the move "bad lawyering," Coleman says the judges were extremely skeptical. www.rawstory.com/trump-immunity-argument-purpose/

Surprise TFG is looking for deals.. Joseph Tacopina's withdrawal from representing him meant another two attorneys from his firm also dropped out of the former president's defense, Newsweek reported. Tacopina, a key lawyer who was representing Trump in his New York hush money case and the appeal of last year's ruling in the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial, withdrew his firm's services Monday, just two months before the criminal case was set to begin. Withdrawing his firm's services would include fellow lawyers Chad Seigel and Matthew DeOreo. "I respectfully submit this Declaration in support of [Tacopina Seigel and DeOreo's] motion, made pursuant to Local Civil Rule 27.1, to withdraw as counsel (including TSD attorneys Joseph Tacopina, Chad D. Seigel and Matthew G. DeOreo) for Trump, with such other and further relief as the Court deems just and proper," Tacopina wrote in a court filing. www.rawstory.com/tacopina-trump/

Other comments, not mine:
* Now watch what happens next. Trump will claim he needs a delay because he needs to find new lawyers. I’ve predicted this and further predict that it will happen in his other cases too. Especially keep an eye on the Florida docs case. Cannon will be happy to go along.
* Hubba will step in I'm sure. And we all know what an awesome lawyer she is.
* So when will trump "demand" a years long delay or claim he can't be put on trial because no hack lawyer will sacrifice their careers defending the rapist?

Wait for the rants to come, not just the Carroll case today but TFG has lost another appeal!! Former President Donald Trump officially lost his appeal of a gag order in his New York fraud trial.
Courthouse News first reported Trump's appeal of Justice Arthur Engoron's gag order had been rejected. The panel of appellate judges — Barbara Kapnick, Kelly O'Neil Levy, Peter Moulton, and Saliann Scarpulla — declined to strike down the gag order. "Invoking this extraordinary remedy is only appropriate if there exists a substantial claim of an absence of jurisdiction or an act in excess of jurisdiction," the court said in a four-page ruling. "Here, the gravity of potential harm is small, given that the Gag Order is narrow, limited to prohibiting solely statements regarding the court's staff." For these reasons, a writ of prohibition is not the proper vehicle for challenging the Gag Order and Contempt Orders," the judges added. "To the extent there may have been appealable issues with respect to any of the procedures the court implemented in imposing the financial sanctions, the proper method of review would be to move to vacate the Contempt Orders, and then to take an appeal from the denial of those motions." www.rawstory.com/trump-loses-gag-order-appeal-2666969042/

Messages talking about Carroll are being posted, one way or another, while he is sitting in the court room, supposedly without a phone.... Donald Trump dared a federal judge to hold him in contempt of court by having screenshots of his sex abuse victim E. Jean Carroll's smutty jokes on Twitter posted to his social media account as he sat in the courtroom. *** As he sat without a phone in a federal courtroom for the start of a second trial in the case Tuesday, a series of posts about the writer went up on his Truth Social account. "Can you believe I have to defend myself against this woman’s fake story?!" Trump posted, adding a video clip from a CNN interview Carroll gave about her allegations. It's not clear whether Trump scheduled those posts to go up while he sat in court or whether a staffer posted them on his behalf, but they also included a series of screenshots of jokes about sex that Carroll had made over the years on her own Twitter account. www.rawstory.com/trump-defamation-trial-2666968942/

Ha ha getting dumber daily.... Or is it planned? President Trump defended himself when publicly accused—" the Trump lawyer told the jury in her opening line before being cut off. As the judge explained to the lawyers and the jury, they weren't there to retry the case and explain why Trump did what he did. The case before them is to decide how much she will be awarded from Trump. The judge explained that she couldn't go much beyond her statement. Still, a few moments later Habba claimed that Carroll "waited 30 years," presumably saying she waited until he was president to accuse him of sexual assault. She was cut off in that case too. So, she left it that that. Habba's claim is that Carroll's career began to falter in 2014 and that she had to do something to become famous. Carroll didn't accuse Trump of sexual assault until 2019, when New York increased the statute of limitations on legal accusations. “She has gained more fame, more notoriety than she could have ever dreamed of," claimed Habba. Speaking to MSNBC on Tuesday, Molly Jong-Fast, a friend of Carroll's said that at 80 years old Carroll doesn't dream of "fame" and the idea of being a punching bag for the president at that age seems unrealistic. Still, Habba maintained: "She wanted status. We will show you that she wanted the attention, and it was planned." MSNBC's Katie Phang disagreed: "Habba just doesn't get it." "Yeah, everyone! Trump is just 'giving E. Jean Carrol what she wants,'" quipped Holly Figueroa O'Reilly. "What a weird defense, considering he’s already been found liable for sexual assault."Ben Meiselas of MeidasTouch similarly pointed out the comment, saying that Trump's defense appears to be that she was asking for it.www.rawstory.com/alina-habba-trump-opening/

I see things are going as expected at this trial…
AP..
”BREAKING: Judge threatens to boot Donald Trump from courtroom over loud talking as E. Jean Carroll testifies”
Erica Orden….
”Kaplan threatened to kick Trump out of court after Carroll counsel complained again about Trump's commentary. Kaplan: "Mr. Trump has the right to be present here. That right can be forfeited." He continued: "Mr. Trump, I hope I don’t have to consider excluding you from the trial"
“After Trump threw his hands up in the air and said, "I would love it," Judge Kaplan continued: "I know you would," Kaplan said. "I know you would. You just can’t control yourself in this circumstance, apparently."
Let’s be clear about one thing. The ONLY reason dumpster don #howed up was to do this crap.

Welcome to the 2:00am rant!!
Bold mine!!
"A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES MUST HAVE FULL IMMUNITY, WITHOUT WHICH IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM/HER TO PROPERLY FUNCTION," "ANY MISTAKE, EVEN IF WELL INTENDED, WOULD BE MET WITH ALMOST CERTAIN INDICTMENT BY THE OPPOSING PARTY AT TERM END. EVEN EVENTS THAT 'CROSS THE LINE' MUST FALL UNDER TOTAL IMMUNITY, OR IT WILL BE YEARS OF TRAUMA TRYING TO DETERMINE GOOD FROM BAD. THERE MUST BE CERTAINTY."
And
"EXAMPLE: YOU CAN’T STOP POLICE FROM DOING THE JOB OF STRONG & EFFECTIVE CRIME PREVENTION BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GUARD AGAINST THE OCCASIONAL 'ROGUE COP' OR 'BAD APPLE," wrote Trump. "SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH 'GREAT BUT SLIGHTLY IMPERFECT.' ALL PRESIDENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETE & TOTAL PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY, OR THE AUTHORITY & DECISIVENESS OF A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WILL BE STRIPPED & GONE FOREVER. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE AN EASY DECISION. GOD BLESS THE SUPREME COURT!"
