The Manhattan DA's office is urging Judge Merchan to reject Trump's effort to delay his criminal trial because of pre-trial publicity, arguing Trump "has constantly stoked and encouraged such publicity."
Trump's "own incessant rhetoric is generating significant publicity, and it would be perverse to reward defendant with an adjournment based on media attention he is actively seeking."

Someone has tipped his hand very publicly!!! The former president came to Cannon's defense, and labeled Smith a "lowlife who is nasty, rude, and condescending, and obviously trying to 'play the ref.'"According to the former president, "Deranged 'Special' Counsel Jack Smith, who has a long record of failure as a prosecutor, including a unanimous decision against him in the U.S. Supreme Court, should be sanctioned or censured for the way he is attacking a highly respected Judge, Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over his FAKE Documents Hoax case in Florida." www.rawstory.com/trump-jack-smith-2667694302/

This was in one of the pieces on TFG/Cannon decision.. *** This decision parallels special counsel Jack Smith's argument that the documents were not Trump’s personal records and therefore not protected. But Phang notes that Cannon also takes a small shot at Smith over contentious jury instruction debates. "Notably, Judge Cannon takes a shot at Special Counsel Jack Smith in this opinion," Phang reported. "She writes that the request for her to make a ruling on the jury instructions 'prior to trial, prior to a charge conference, and prior to the presentation of trial defenses and evidence' is 'unprecedent and unjust.'" www.rawstory.com/cannon-denies-trump/

Trouble may be coming for, not only TFG, and his lawyers.. They seem to have forgotten how to tell the truth through neglect!! Trump’s Lawyers Told the Court That No One Would Give Him a Bond. Then He Got a Lifeline, but They Didn’t Tell the Judges. An appeals court reduced Trump’s bond by more than 60% after his attorneys claimed it was a “practical impossibility” to pay the full amount. Their failure to disclose a proposal from a billionaire financier may have violated ethics rules.by Robert Faturechi, Justin Elliott and Alex Mierjeski April 5, 3:30 p.m. EDT Former President Donald Trump scored a victory last week when a New York court slashed the amount he had to put up while appealing his civil fraud case to $175 million. His lawyers had told the appellate court it was a “practical impossibility” to get a bond for the full amount of the lower court’s judgment, $464 million. All of the 30 or so firms Trump had approached balked, either refusing to take the risk or not wanting to accept real estate as collateral, they said. That made raising the full amount “an impossible bond requirement.” But before the judges ruled, the impossible became possible: A billionaire lender approached Trump about providing a bond for the full amount. The lawyers never filed paperwork alerting the appeals court. That failure may have violated ethics rules, legal experts say. In an interview with ProPublica, billionaire California financier Don Hankey said he reached out to Trump’s camp several days before the bond was lowered, expressing willingness to offer the full amount and to use real estate as collateral.*** Hankey said he informed Trump’s camp that he was willing to work with them, and “they said they had the collateral.” The two sides went over the assets that had to be pledged, and it was up to Trump “if they wanted to do it.” (In his second call, Hankey said making a deal would have been “difficult.”) *** But, he said, the deal for the larger amount was dropped during a large Zoom call between the two sides, when Trump’s camp got a call informing them that the bond was reduced. ....and a whole lot more..... www.propublica.org/article/trump-bond-disclosure-appeals-court-hankey

More on the bond.. 04/08/24 The Daily Beast reports that the Knight Specialty Insurance Company's bond contract "doesn’t actually promise it will pay the money if the former president loses his $464 million bank fraud case on appeal" but instead "says Trump will pay, negating the whole point of an insurance company guarantee." *** This is not common," said N. Alex Hanley, the CEO of Jurisco Surety Bonds. "The only reason this would be done is to limit the liability to the surety." Hanley further told the publication that normally such bond contracts would list both Trump and the insurance company as "jointly and severally" liable, which means they would both be on the hook should Trump lose his appeal in the New York fraud case. *** Another odd detail flagged by The Daily Beast is the fact that the contract seems to rule out paying additional "interests and costs" should Trump lose the case, and instead flatly says that “the liability of this bond shall not exceed the sum” of $175 million." www.rawstory.com/trump-bond-payment-contract/

Will this ever end..?? One week before jury selection.. Court records show that Trump filed the suit against Judge Juan M. Merchan. Sources tell The New York Times that the suit is an attempt to delay the case and challenge a gag order that Merchan recently imposed on Trump, blocking him from attacking people related to the case including Merchan's family. "Mr. Trump’s unorthodox move — essentially an appeal in the form of a lawsuit — is unlikely to succeed, particularly so close to trial," The Times' report stated, adding that "the appeals court might act fast to reject it." "A single appeals court judge will most likely issue a preliminary ruling on Monday, setting up a full five-judge panel to consider Mr. Trump’s request in the coming days." youtu.be/VdznWyjAqws?si=TXdrdPSy1glvyGm_

For Rubin, she has no doubts Hicks will be truthful and savvy under questioning. "Consider this snippet from a 12/17 FBI interview," Rubin writes, of the moment the former president learned former FBI Director Robert Mueller was appointed Special Counsel. "Trump was described as "angry, surprised, and frustrated" and to such a heated level that the "the only other time" she saw him this way was back on Oct. 7, 2016, "when the Access Hollywood tape came out during the campaign." In another document snippet, Rubin pointed to Hicks' appearance before the House Judiciary Committee in 2019. Asked if she knew about the payments to porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy playmate Karen McDougal — both of whom Trump is alleged to have carried on affairs with — Hicks responded she was never present when Trump and his former fixer and attorney Michael Cohen talked Daniels. www.rawstory.com/trump-hope-hicks-forthcoming/

I think dump is sweating in his boots to appear on Monday. What if he doesn't show? He's tried everything to not have this case move forward. Does he need to show for jury selection? But since it's a criminal trial vs. civil, why "must" he appear? Can't wait to see.

Another problem with the 'Bond'.. seems there are questionable connections in the Cayman Islands, with possible not enough dollars to cover the full amount and no way to collect from there!!! “This just stinks to high heaven." That is the opinion of one former insurance expert when shown documentation showing that the company that is backing Donald Trump's $175 million appeal bond has backed their own bet with funds supposedly held in the secretive tax haven of the Grand Caymans. According to a report from the Daily Beast's Jose Pagliery, the more questions are raised about the Knight Specialty Insurance Company and its ability to come up with the money should the former president lose his financial fraud appeal, the murkier things get, setting off "red flags" from industry and financial experts. As the report notes, "Former industry regulators and investigators told The Daily Beast that Knight Specialty Insurance Company being financially backed by a firm based in the Cayman Islands should raise eyebrows at the New York AG’s office—particularly because companies frequently organize in the Cayman Islands not just to avoid taxes, but also to minimize visibility into its business practices, avoid more stringent U.S. regulations, and make liability harder should things go wrong." At issue are worries that Trump loses his appeal and that New York Attorney General Letitia James runs into a wall trying to collect the fine by dealing with the Grand Cayman company that may give her the runaround and may not have the money on hand. Dave Jones, who formerly oversaw California's insurance market, made the "stinks to high heaven" remark and followed up by saying, "Taken in its totality, this dog does not hunt. Along every step of the way, this purported bond is problematic. It’s just one issue after another that calls into question whether this bond could ever possibly satisfy the judgment.” Former New York Department of Financial Services superintendent Maria Vullo agreed and claimed the information should set off alarms. www.rawstory.com/trump-fraud-bond-2667753290/

Or they don't want to be raised at dawn by the FBI. Or they don't want to be wrongfully arrested like the J6 people.

Whether it's political violence or fraud, you can't commit electoral interference with impunity in a constitutional democracy.
