Good morning.
I will run an errand w/dh and then I have an appt. Yds is making dinner tonight. He's making Japanese curry. I don't want to know from mess in the kitchen. EEK!
What's on your menu?
What are you up to this weekend?
Ods is coming back home today and he'll stay through Sunday am or Monday am. It'll be nice to have everyone home, again. It's a low key weekend, but dh will be doing some puttering w/stuff he wants to finish until his permanent break in March.
May everyone have a happy, fun and relaxing weekend.

scrapmaven hopefully that appointment is to address some of what's going on with you right now. I've got my fingers crossed that someone can come up with a plan to make you feel better. Hugs. Rest today when you can. I have the day off. I went this morning to the farmers market and picked up a few things. I have a taste for acorn squash. So I picked up a couple and then I've got some white beans soaking and I will make some wild rice. Kind of stuff the squash. Jeremy will eat what we call "crap on a pan". This consists of things like taquitos and pizza rolls. I am sitting printing photos to work on my December Daily album.

After our adventures yesterday, today was a stay home day. DH went out early to do some grocery shopping and to buy our fireworks for NYE, but apart from that and me going for a walk, we’ve just been puttering around the apartment. I finished my latest knitting project and now will work on one of the two pair of socks I have on the needles. I will cast on something new to mark the new year on Monday, probably a sweater for me.
DH is cooking dinner tonight and is making a recipe from the recipe book I bought him for Christmas (Death by Burrito) - asada carnita burritos. He isn’t quite going all the way - we are using store bought tortillas, rather than him making them from scratch with the other part of his Christmas gift - a tortilla press.
My stepmum’s surgery was delayed until probably tomorrow, as the doctor was worried that she hasn’t been off blood thinners for long enough. So long as the blood tests are fine in the morning, they’ll do the surgery.

Happy Friday!
I'm off until Wednesday so I started some house cleaning. I'm breaking it up and today is the living room/dining room in 15-minute challenges.
Today is my parent's 61st anniversary so I'm hoping they might feel up to going out somewhere since they really haven't been out since early December with all of their health issues. My mom sounds less confused today and my sister is showering her today so that should make her feel a lot better.
Hope you all have a good Friday and weekend!

I think ds and I are going out for a celebratory dinner tonight. Dgd is staying here with me until this afternoon when I’ll take her and a carload of stuff to their new place.

I love the idea of casting on a new project for the new year sueg! And you know what is crazy is that I'm trying to finish up my December Daily but I really woke up this morning and thought I want to make a quilt. Haha...

We're going to the huge mall half an hour away to do some returns. We'll come home for lunch of Chicken Noodle Soup. Maybe watch some bowl games and/or play games. It's going to start raining around 4 PM through tomorrow so DS will be driving home in the rain. Dinner tonight will be Tri-tip with zucchini, fruit salad and some cranberry freeze. TGIF!!!

I am about to go to the grocery store ... I've been avoiding it all week and supplies are low! No other plans today since my house was cleaned yesterday ... my mum is coming over for dinner ... I am making Beef Noodle Hamburger Helper ... so bad but so good! No plans for the weekend ... I guess I should see if anyone wants to do anything for New Year's Eve ...

My bestie gave us 2 bales of straw this morning and we spread it around the perimeter of the fence where Walker runs all the time. The grass is worn down to mud and he gets filthy every time he goes outside. Hoping the straw will keep the mud down a bit.
I’m babysitting the grandboys tonight while DS and DDIL go out with friends to see the Dueling Pianos at our local brewery. I’m trying to finish the book I’m reading so I can take a new one with me.
Supper will be a turkey sandwich.

jeremysgirl , thank you. My appointment is related to my problem and I'm going to be very pushy. Tearisci , Happy Anniversary to your parents. I do hope that they'll feel well enough to do even a little, quick dinner. sueg , I love the idea of a New Year's project. Enjoy your knitting. cadoodlebug , I had to send that meme to ods. leannec , IIRC, Hamburger Helper was yummy. Sometimes that type of stuff can be very satisfying.
taylortroop , your grandchildren have such a loving, wonderful grandmother. You're creating great memories for everyone.
KelleeM, I vote that after you get home from dinner you take off your shoes and do a happy dance in your living room. Woohoo. Enjoy the peace.

My Christmas decorations are finally all down and put away. I'll miss the Christmas lights at night but am happy to start getting my house in order. As a plus I was able to get rid of 2 bags of things that I know I won't be using next year. I am now doing a load of laundry and after that I might start cleaning one room at a time. I'll see how I feel.
For dinner we are having stuffed salmon with asparagus.

I have nothing exciting going on. The kids are great. DDIL has the day off so we are going to Costco. It’s not exciting. We are all good. Dogs are behaving. I’ll bet we get lucyg for dinner. (Costco chicken). This week between Christmas and New Years is weird. I have nothing to buy. Things are just good and I am going with that.

We drove to the fancy pants mall today- it is much more fancy pants than last time we were there. Half of the mall (the original part) is on one side of the road and that used to be less bougie than the newer part on the other side of the street. We were there to go to the Lego store, but they didnt have what dh was looking for. We had lunch at the Chick Fil A in the food court (even the bulk of the food court is bougie lol). Then we placed a carryout order at Maggiano's, which is near that mall. We ordered enough for dinner tonight and tomorrow.

I went to the lab on Saturday last week. I just talked to my GP and she said I have something rheumatic like RA or lupus or something going on. She was very serious about it. I have to see a rheumatologist in January.

Delta Dawn I hope you're able to get some answers! I see my rheumatologist every 18 months because my bone density levels were awful, and my doctor wanted to figure out what was going on. Fortunately, I just need to take daily calcium and a weekly vitamin D. I have a few specialist appointments in the coming weeks because I had genetic testing done, and it showed an elevated risk for melanoma and renal cell cancer. We went out to breakfast this morning, and then got groceries. DH wanted to go ice skating, so we got to the rink, but he realized that the rental skates are sucky, so he didn't feel safe skating. They had an offer that if you return your rentals in 15 mins, they'll give you a voucher for a future visit, so he did that. (I can't skate to save my life, so I wasn't even going to skate. I may take lessons. We'll see...) Dinner tonight will be chicken picatta and pasta, one of my late grandfather's favorites.

Just got home from a birthday lunch that three of my friends treated me too. We had a great time and I’m stuffed, so I probably will not eat dinner. As far as this weekend, my brother and his family will be home tomorrow evening from Florida so it’ll be nice to catch up with them. Sunday will probably just be spent watching some football and Monday. We are headed to my cousins home for dinner on New Year’s Day. This time of year is very hard. Four years ago on New Year’s Eve day, my dad left his house for the last time in an ambulance. I relive that hour or so of his struggling and we had to call the ambulance, all the time. Little did we know that he wouldn’t come home again.

Delta Dawn, I'm wondering if you had a positive ANA test? That could indicate an autoimmune problem or it could be a fluke. Try not to worry, because the tests that they'll give you in January will be far more helpful. BTDT and it was a big nothing burger. I'll think healthy thoughts for you. rymeswithpurple, lessons could be really good. I went ice skating once and made it around the rink, mostly holding on. I love watching figure skating, but I'll leave it to the pros. However, if you learn that's one more thing for you and your dh to enjoy together.

scrapmaven I hope that appointment goes well littlemama did they renovate the original side of that mall? It's been a while since I've been there. I went to my doctor this morning and got some medication for my eyelids. Then to the pharmacy for the med and also picked up some after Christmas sale items like cards for next year. Then home to walk the pupper. Now I have chores. Tonight is rechauffe tortellini soup. Delta Dawn I hope you can get an appointment soon to get answers.

More so because I have been going for pain problems and now we have a problem. I hope cutting out sugar will help. I do have a bit but I will try to quit it. It just seems like the colonoscopy and now this are symptoms of something weird. It’s all my mother’s family coming back to haunt me.

I dont think they have renovated, the stores have just turned over into more fancy stores than last time we were there (which could easily have been 15 years ago!). The mall we used to go to regularly is now a shell and is being repurposed. Last time I was in there (the tailor we like is still there), it was a ghost town. Nothing like when I was 12 and it was the place to be! The fancy mall was crowded and I dont like being amongst that many people. ETA, I dont think I knew that you were from here!

I'm replacing a few door knobs today. The previous owner painted the cheapo glossy gold ones. I'm sure it (might have) looked nice when fresh but now as it's wearing off, they look grimy. Kind of like really dirty hands build up that hasn't been wiped off in forever.
I still have to replace the front door which was also painted outside and the inside is a combo of finishes. The door knob inside is gold (no paint?!) Yet the deadbolt is a polished silver or nickel. Weird.
I'll tackle that another day when it's warmer again.
Dinner will be (probably/maybe/who knows) burgers on the forman grill. Can't beat dine in 4 minutes. I often don't bother with a bun.
Happy weekend all.

I'm getting off work in about an hour. I still have a few things to get done, like payroll but here I am peaing! It is super cold here today. This morning it was -23 degrees and it has warmed up to a balmy -11. This weekend I am hoping to get all my Christmas down and packed away. I also feel the need to organize a few areas. What is up with January that people feel the need to purge. I swear I did this last year but here we are again and I want/need to get rid of stuff. Hope you all have a relaxing weekend or a rowdy one if that is what you like.

We are having tortilla soup with chicken for dinner. I am sort of down. There are some situational reasons (grief mostly) but it probably also has to do with a lack of sleep. We returned from the Oregon Wednesday evening and I have not slept well since returning to the Eastern time zone. Doesn't help that DH is sick with a cold and I worked both yesterday and today. DH & I are watching the OSU Buckeyes [hopefully] beat Missouri tonight in the consolation bowl Cotton bowl. Hopefully that plus a restful 3-day weekend will get me back on track. We did have a very nice Christmas celebration with both DDs, son-in-law, and DGD (18 mos.) who is just sweet and utterly delightful!

It is super cold here today. This morning it was -23 degrees and it has warmed up to a balmy -11. Yikes, and to think I was just about to complain about it being 15C (49F) here! It's Saturday morning and DSO and I have just had bacon and eggs outside. Now the wind has sprung up and it looks like rain is on the way. I'm just sitting here wondering when summer is going to start! We're already one month into summer, but we've only had about two nice warm/hot days. And as I'm typing this, DSO just said "Arrrrgh, when is this $#!T @%$&ing weather going to stop?!" Dinner was the last of the tuna mornay from Christmas Day. All other leftovers are now going to the dog (meat) or the goats (veggies). DSO is looking after a mate's goats while he's away. And now as I'm typing, it's started raining. Grrrrrrr!!
