What is the best welcome gift that you’ve received at a crop? Or what welcome gift would you like to receive?

I have never received a gift. The crops I went to were always at the local scrapbook store (CrackJacks Too then renamed to Collective Memories). We did however get a discount on all items. I liked that!

Honestly, I don't like getting scrapbook kits because they usually aren't my style and then I end up getting rid of them. Things I would love to get are maybe small tools (fussy cut scissors for example), adhesive, markers/pens or something that is universal, that all crafters would use. I know that's a tough thing to find, something that will please everyone (or at least over half the people).

Great crops gifts would be small useful items like: foam adhesives for "popping" up embellishments, a small tray or bowl for sorting ephemera or small objects, a weeder tool for picking up small things or starting a roll of tape, a bottle of stickles or pops of color, some ink daubers.
And don't forget the chocolate, coffee and or/tea!

When I went to the craft retreat in Maine recently, which was organized by SU demos, but not exclusively a SU event, the most upstream of the organizers gave everyone a little gift EVERY DAY of the event -- a little handmade treat box with a couple homemade cookies and some candies was day one. Day two was one of those little gifty things SU seems to love so much -- a little holder with a hot cider mix and a honey stick. Day three was a vellum tea light holder with a battery operating tea light inside that said "You make a difference every day." And lastly, a little 2024 calendar/post it holder.
It wasn't exactly a crop and they weren't gifts you would use at a crop -- more like party favors. I appreciated everything but the cider mix.

I would agree that I usually don’t like the gifts as most are unusable to me and always seem like old stock people are trying to be rid of. I like getting chocolate or a snack tho lol.

Small tools, pop dots, candy, and chap stick. One retreat gave us black foam Thickers and white cardstock…that was nice.

At one retreat (4 days) we received a little kit of nail clippers, a tiny emery board, lip stuff, eyeglass wipes, small pack of tissues, small bottle of lotion, a couple of the bubble packs of Advil, and a few bandaids. I've always thought that was a good gift, all the little things you forget to pack when going to a crop.

My favorites have been a mini pop up garbage can for snippets and scraps so I don't have to share ( ) and post it notes/notepad to make notes of something I need to do at home to finish a project.

It's always a seasonally appropriate collection pack by Echo Park/Carta Bella. Some have not been my style, but I've used them to make cards for the Pea card swaps. They have really come in handy for card making.

In the beginning days of scrapbooking, I went to a couple-few store crops. I liked that they gave a discount on purchases made while at the crop. So a money off coupon or verbal announcement....good during the crop, would be what I like to receive.
I am not a fan of random stuff, as it may not be something I use.
If I recall correctly, each crop attendee received a ticket or put their name on a small paper and it was put in the bowl. Names were drawn, throughout the crop and prizes were given. If I didn't care for the prize, I would give it to the friend I was cropping with or a table neighbor. If I recall correctly, the first prize given was always a gift certificate to the store. It was given first, so everyone had an equal chance of winning it.
If it has to be an actual "gift" >> a bottle of water and small bag of M&M's or store bought individual wrapped cookie.....would be what I would like to receive.

I have been to crops where the different vendors donated little items. You received a ticket when you entered the room, and then numbers were drawn. If you were lucky, you got one of the vendor gifts that you picked out yourself, or there were also paper kits (just like 3-5 pieces of paper) that you could pick that might match something you could definitely use. Everyone got to pick something that was scrap related. Sometimes people didn't find something they wanted, or they picked something that a friend wanted and it all was used. I would think that 12.5 x 12.5 baggies could also be added into the choices so you could reuse those baggies or gift the to a neighbor.
