This morning I decided upon my word of the year for 2024. I don't take the class or do the project. I always choose a word (or a few words >> a saying) to use a guide and focus for the year ahead.
I usually have my word(s) chosen by November, but this year was tossing around a few ideas, glad I decided this morning....so I can start the year off with it.

In January: I'm going to be doing some challenges on here
scrapping every weekday or at least sitting at my desk for 20 minutes a day
pulling prompts out of the prompt jar I made last year--I've forgotten what I put in there last spring, but the one currently pulled is make a page about something house related.
ordering photos from Christmas and Thanksgiving

New goal for this week. Empty out scrap room wall by wall. Paint wall and trim. Put room back. I'm giving myself until Saturday evening to finish. Four days. Four walls. My room has so much paper. Will be fun! Thankfully I am kind of peopled out right now and will enjoy some time with myself. I find I can be delightful. Will no doubt have an elderly corgi snoopervising and another one making me take breaks because I apparently signed up to be her head chef, personal trainer, and snuggler. Stuff to move... I may or may not finish my Countdown to Christmas album. I have 10ish pages to go. I also might hold on to it until later this year; I usually finish in late summer or early fall.
I'm going to start my words & memories wedding album. I've been collecting kits and need to narrow down the photos. Since I already made a photos-only coffee table book from the wedding, I only need to include the photos that are the most meaningful.
The Lilypad is holding its annual layout-a-day contest so that will be my main goal for January. I bought some new stuff from their store to use and will pull everything else I can use from my stash so that I'm ready to go when I start creating tonight or tomorrow.

Woot! I finished painting my room. Of course it took more time to move everything than to actually paint it. Didn't help that I also had to go back to Home Depot three times for paint. I was just short a little bit for both the wall color and the trim color. Now I need to finish putting it all back in the room.

* Finish 2024 Bujo/planner set up. About 95% complete. * Finish December Daily. I start after Christmas. All pages are sketched out, photos ordered. Just waiting for them to arrive. * Decide on OLW, narrowed down to 2. Watch first lesson and start the album. * Decide on PL album size, 12x12 or 9x12. This is my last year with the project. * get back to story kits. I put them aside for December, miss them so much.

I have just a few goals for January, as I am also in the process of purging stuff throughout my entire house.
Scrappy goals:
1. Remove the mountain of junk in my craft room so I can actually scrap if wanted.
2. Organize and back up photos from 2023.

I finished 16 pages to cover Aug, Sep and a short trip. I'm not sure what I will work on next. October is the next chronologically but December is most recent. Both months have a lot of pictures. So far I have scrapbooked 11 of 18 days.

Since Monday, I have been working on my Bike Ride 21 album. I took a 5 day bikepacking trip in Western Ohio, US, that ended badly due to a bike mechanical issue on Day Four. It was not a fun ride due to weather (high temps) winds and thunderstorms.
I started on this album not long after the ride but abandoned it. It seemed overwhelming.
I pulled ALL the pages out and was astonished to see how many layouts were almost complete. I found journaling for each day! I found temperatures written down next to mileage. No wonder I was miserable-I was riding in 90 F weather in late June!
Daily I have been matting and finishing layouts. Adding journaling. The style that I started this in 2021 is not how I would do it today, but who cares. I'm getting it done. As Ali Edwards as said "stick that shit down".
There are some missing photos-I'm sure there is 1-2 pages left in yet some other spot, but I am going to complete this album this weekend!
Post script: Although my attitude has improved over this trip, it still was not fun. I have been looking thru my stash to find all the "Hard Parts" "current challenges" ephemera.

I did one thing. One little thing, but it's a weight off my shoulders.
I finished uploading my pics, and ordered prints from May 2023 to January (21st) 2024. It's been almost a year since I ordered photos.

Can you please PM me about this? We have done the GAP, C&O, The Katy Trail (well I missed a couple of days due to illness), and most of the Greenbriar River Trail. Always looking for more trails.

Ok, my goals are to: Start Project life (I did this!) Keep up with weekly documenting (weeks 1 and 2 are done!) Go through October/Fall alphas and pull out any that could work for Project Life done. Photograph and post the Disney album from where I left off Figure out where I left off posting the Disney album (ha) Get rid of enough 3X4 cards so that they all fit in the same box. Why is that so hard? done, sorta. I took out all the ones that have rounded edges and are so travel related that I would only use them for a far away trip, like not a road trip.
Added: go through my stash and create kits of embellishments that go with journaling cards/papers/stickers

Taking a break today to work on my October Daily... it might be done next October at the rate I'm going scrapping every weekday--95% prompt jar--check, currently my prompt is 'navy' trying to find a photo to go with that color... ordering photos-- First, my phone would not connect to the computer, fixed that issue. Now I'm just waiting for Shutterfly to have a free/discounted shipping deal because I'm not paying $17 shipping for 75 photos... It has to be free shipping otherwise it cancels out my 'discount' for being a former Costco customer. There are still nine days left in January but I'm pretty happy with my progress so far.
