I get the Method wood for good polish at Target, but have had my current bottle for a long time. I don't dust daily, either lol. My mom thinks that the problem with the towels is that our towels don't seem to dry very quickly or thoroughly. She thinks we need to have a towel rack rather than hooks but I am not sure if that would actually help? Do you have a front loader washing machine and have you cleaned out the filter? As I noted earlier, I didn’t even realize that my washer had a removable filter because my previous washer didn’t have one. Because I didn’t know it existed, it hadn’t ever been cleaned and that was supposed to be done at least every six months. When I finally figured out what to do, the black, stinky gunk in that filter was SO disgusting! That right there was a major source of the problem. Check to see if they smell musty right out of the dryer after they’ve been freshly washed. If they smell then, your washer is probably the culprit. We have only hooks both at home and at the lake cabin and I haven’t ever noticed a problem with drying towels that have been hung on a hook vs. hung on a towel bar. In the winter it’s dry as a bone in the house so most things dry pretty fast here. In the summer we run the A/C constantly due to allergies, so it tends to stay less humid then too even when it’s stifling outside. We have a top loader.

Add me to the list of "SPENT" Peas.
The organizers were at my house two more times two weeks ago and we made big progress in the kitchen and dining room. Since they have concluded, I bought a big bookcase off of Marketplace and today we put it into our family room. It was kind of a domino effect -- once we put it up, we had to move other things around and reorganize everything that the organizers had organized. But now everything has a place, and it was so much easier to organize based on the work I had done with them. We're just on the cusp of feeling finished with the family room. I just have a few more things to put in place, and I have a stack of baskets that no longer have anything in them, so I need to decide what to do with those. They're Longaberger, so I won't just get rid of them, but I need to figure out where I have space for them. Anyway, I worked in the family room all day today and I'm exhausted.
DD has been home for Spring Break, so she went through all the baskets of stuff that had been on her bookcase in the family room. She went through nine baskets of stuff today and got it all down to one basket, which is now in her bedroom. She took a load of her stuff and mine to Volunteers of America and she trashed quite a bit. I'm so proud of her and so thankful for the way that she partners with me to make life better!
I start my new job in eight days so I'm thrilled to have made so much progress over the last two months. I never thought I could do it, but I'm so glad I hired the organizers and have invested so much energy and effort. We're not finished yet, but the progress is huge. Woo hoo!

DH informed me the washer was no longer able to be repaired. So, one big thing will be gone next week.
However, the new washer and dryer will arrive on April 3. The one I wanted, not what I was stuck with. The local store couldn’t deliver until 4/23. Due to a $300 price drop, I was able to buy the pedestal for the washer that is a small washer.
DH is opting to keep the dryer. Works, but is a tad finicky, because of course he is. It is going in his work garage. So, no longer my problem.
Otherwise, I haven’t even been able to do more than fill and empty the dishwasher.

My master bedroom is mostly finished. It needs some final touches. We cleaned, rearranged furniture and decluttered everything but the clothes. I bought some artificial plants and a linen table runner over the dresser. It’s a lovely oasis retreat for me now. DH was impressed with how nice it turned out and is now motivated to help me get some more of the house done.
I got through 2 boxes of stuff that came from our storage unit and was either trash or for the scrapbook garage sale at the crop I’m going to on Saturday. Today I spent 7 hours tackling mountains of mail and school papers that covered my scrap room. Everything is now filed, tossed, recycled, or shredded.
I’ve been doing really good at keeping up with the few areas that are already decluttered and putting away stuff in the drop zones more frequently.
This weeks focus is to finish getting everything ready for the consignment sale. DH and I agreed it wasn’t worth stressing myself out over getting the smaller stuff out so we are focusing on the bigger items like the crib and train table. Just that stuff alone will free up much needed space.

Week 11- Attic / Storage The attic works the same every other room does, except it’s probably got mostly stored boxed and old clothes. Remember what our motto has been? If you haven’t worn it in the last year, and you can’t figure when you’ll wear it in the next year, get rid of it! (Donate it somewhere, or throw it out if it’s not in good shape.) This can really make a big dent in the storage facilities. And don’t get caught with “well, Johnny can wear this when he’s 14.” Let’s be honest, how many kids really want to wear hand-me-downs that are way out of style? We must swallow our pride (if my daughter doesn’t want to wear my wedding gown when she’s old enough, I guess I won’t get upset!) and get rid of what truly we won’t use, and will have no value later on (but not that wedding gown! I can’t part with that!). Everyone will have treasures that you can’t part with, and that is fine, but set a limit. As for those boxes, bring a few downstairs and work on them in front of the TV, or at the bottom of the stairs. The old “can’t go to bed cause I can’t get past these boxes yet” works nicely here. Or do it while the kids are at school if you are able. Once again. ask yourself if you will really use the item again. If no, and it has no sentimental value worth passing to the next generation (and collecting dust!) then donate it to somewhere that might really appreciate it.

Wow, y’all have been busy! I am still working primarily on my craft room. DH helped me reconfigure the shelves in my closet and move everything around this weekend so I found a lot of larger items that can go, the stack multiplied by at least 3 and I gained quite a bit of breathing room in my closet. DH also hung another clip-it-up for my alphas in the closet so I’ll hang my remaining ones and go through all of them today.

I finally have a free day with no appointments and no workmen so this afternoon will be the semi-annual wardrobe swap and decluttering in the guest room. Going to focus on the reach-in closet today. Will be pulling out all the boxes of photos and scrapbooks that are stashed in there and get them organized so that I can start going through them all. What clothes are left in there are on a portable rack, so once I get the closet cleared I can put back what is staying then store the portable rack in the garage (it folds up). Suspect I'll need to do a storage unit run later this week. why is our thread tagged 'old thread' ? Someone was tagging several threads this morning. They must be bored.

Declutter newspapers - if they fit put in a basket that fits underneath the couch.
Since so many don’t get physical copies of newspapers let’s add magazines and catalogs. Consider decluttering subscriptions. I’m going back through our small stack of books to read but that we don’t think we’ll keep for reference, and so far have selected half of them to just check out from the library and donate. I’m reading them because I think I should, but am not particularly amped about them right now. Getting rid of a lot of “shoulds” from around our house.

why is our thread tagged 'old thread' ? Someone has been putting that tag on a lot of threads lately that started a while ago but are still active threads, which makes no sense. The tag was created so we could identify threads that were being resurrected by trolls but now it seems like the trolls are fighting back, LOL.

dh is recovering from illness.. and agreed to spend 20 min a day getting rid of stuff in our bedroom.. he wants to get rid of all his old suits.. I told him we will keep one black one. and his tux.
but his participation is a plus. I am getting rid of a mass of clothing that no longer fit after I just went down 5 sizes.

Yesterday I accomplished the seasonal wardrobe swap. Several tops that were too big went into the donation bag. Also added some clothes and a pair of shoes that DD passed on to me that didn't work for me. Emptied the guest room closet was able to put my out of season dresses, as well as tablecloths in there. Discovered several old Apple product boxes that were tossed. All the boxes of photos and memorabilia are now out where I can get to them to start going through. Going to need to make a run to the storage unit with boxes of leftover wallpaper and extra slipcovers for the sofa, chair and ottoman. The rolling rack is in the garage and needs to be folded down and rehung on the wall. The first of last year you could barely walk into that room. Now there is a huge open space in the middle of the room. Still a long ways to go but it helps to see progress finally. dh is recovering from illness.. and agreed to spend 20 min a day getting rid of stuff in our bedroom.. he wants to get rid of all his old suits.. I told him we will keep one black one. and his tux. but his participation is a plus. I am getting rid of a mass of clothing that no longer fit after I just went down 5 sizes. It's always a bonus when the family get onboard with getting rid of things - especially their things! Earlier this year DH agreed to part with all of his old dress shirts and dress slacks after losing a good bit of weight. There are still 2 suits/pants to be donated but his full name was embroidered inside the jackets and I am trying to figure out how to take that out beforehand. The stitches are tiny and tight. Good for you going down so many sizes in clothing. Did the same last year and it is a great feeling!

Each unit is completely sealed, each floor has its own a/c, temps kept in the mid 70s year round. Very good security as well. We keep some antiques in there. The wallpaper will be safer there than in my attic or garage.

There are 8 pillows on my bed. They aren’t going anywhere. 😁
The new washer and dryer were delivered Wednesday. So, I have been catching up on laundry. This has been a lesson. Finally realized I no longer have an extra low heat setting on the new dryer. Jay’s quilt shrunk 8 inches side to side. No idea with top to bottom because the cat had taken up residence on her pillow. She is always left in peace. Thankfully, it was oversized to begin with.
Wondering what the damage will be to the clothing.
As part of the experimenting, I went through some of the old sheets. Tossed 2 fitted sheets. Since I’ve embraced an eccentric look, I plan to put a couple of the flat sheets back into rotation. Works out nicely, since one of the flat sheets is this.close to needing to be replaced.
Also, bagged up a dog bed and the old coffee maker. It will go out in the trash when there is room. DH won’t throw stuff away, so I am getting rid of the middle man. The beater attachment to the vacuum cleaner is also on the hit list, since someone broke it due to impatience.
Working through the old receipts and happy with that progress. 1/3 of the waste basket goes in the empty kitchen trash. At least a basket a week leaves the house. I look forward to shredding. 😂
Since I am feeling marginally better, I plan to spend 15 minutes a day culling the storage area. One thing that can easily be donated are Jay’s backpacks. LL Bean that are in fantastic condition. Tote bags…why can’t I get rid of tote bags? I could get rid of everything besides the nice LL Bean and the one with the design that changes colors. I don’t even like a couple of them. One would think they would be low hanging fruit. 🙄
Today, I need to return some unneeded items to Lowe’s. And, I need to open the package from Home Depot to see how the item can be returned.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Makes it much easier to drop of things when I don't need the bag/container back.

Daily declutter task from My Simpler Life Declutter Calendar: Go through one cubby in the Entertainment Center. We did this earlier this year. Maybe this time DH will be willing to get rid of his older James Bond movies, some of which he hasn’t watched since I got them for him. And some games we don’t play. Not holding my breath . And since I’ve gotten even more motivated since we last did it hopefully I can let go of more movies.

Makes it much easier to drop of things when I don't need the bag/container back. We normally use the ones we don’t want to keep permanently for items we are giving/giving back to friends and family. But our decent-sized incoming boxes are not keeping up with our outgoing donations, so we’ll also need to start doing this. There are 8 pillows on my bed. They aren’t going anywhere. 😁 The new washer and dryer were delivered Wednesday. So, I have been catching up on laundry. This has been a lesson. Wow, that’s a lot, so glad it was so big to start! I’m glad you’re feeling better. For the tote bags, maybe pick your least favorite and bring it into storage with you to put donations in, then take them right away. Once you’ve done that maybe it will be easier to do. Or, take all but the 2 you mentioned to the storage area. You’ll get used to the empty space where they are currently stored and maybe not want to have to fill it up again.
