What would it be?
I'm taking a year off from buying supplies (other than glue, etc) as my DH and I have an aggressive 12 month plan to eliminate what debt we have.
I'm wanting to subscribe to 1 thing but I'm struggling with which one and with whom!
I make cards, toner foil, hot foil, some scrapbooking and I'd like to keep the expense to less than $50 a month.
So, please tell me about your subscriptions and why you love it, thank you!

I haven't found anything that I like enough to want to subscribe to. I get tempted by Spellbinders kits but there are too many to choose from, not sure how expensive they are, and I'm not sure I'd use them enough to justify getting new supplies every month. Hero Art and SSS kits are very hit or miss for me.
I think I'd sooner set aside a fixed budget each month and have the option to carry over the money some months to splurge when really good releases come out. You could load a gift card with your budget each month if that would help with monitoring the spend, kind of like a cash envelope system. Good luck with your financial goals!

Do you have a Silhouette machine? If so, you could get a monthly subscription for downloads (I think without a coupon code, it is $20/21 a month to have access to $150 worth of downloads a month and free last chance designs) and a Club Silhouette subscription (I think it is about $100/year), which includes a cutting mat and blade sent to you every 4 months, along with 10 exclusive designs a month. I believe Club Silhouette members also save on purchases from the Silhouette website and can earn points for purchases.

I don’t subscribe because I never like all the kits I see at various company or clubs. Maybe just buy individual kits you really like. Even though the kits cost a bit more to non subscribers you could when you want and maybe buy every other month.

I wouldn't want a subscription.
I would take the $50 a month funds and let it accumulate for 2-4 months so I would I have $100-$200, then I would place an order at my favorite online scrapbook store and have it shipped to me. I would make sure, I met the minimum shipping requirement...so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping.
If I had limited funds, I would want to pick and choose exactly what I want......rather than receive a monthly or quarterly box of "you get whatever we send you....like it or not".

Thank you! I really like y'alls idea of putting the cash aside and making my own "kit" as it were instead of relying on a premade kit.
As always, you guys are AWESOME!

I believe Club Silhouette members also save on purchases from the Silhouette website and can earn points for purchases. I agree, if you have a Silhouette Cameo or Portrait, their subs are very affordable, especially if you get a sub when they are on sale, and you get an additional discount if you have it set to renew automatically. I get $150 in designs of my choice each month for $11.80. If you don’t have a Silhouette, you are missing out. They have more than just regular cutting files. They offer print and cut designs that you can print onto card stock and cut out to use like ephemera. They have patterned paper designs that you can use to “fill” a cutting shape, so you don’t have to cut up a favorite patterned paper. For example, I love diagonal plaids, and I have downloaded several, but my stash of actual diagonal plaid papers is very limited. I needed a pattern paper for a project, and I was using golden yellow patterns. I didn’t have anything in my stash, except for a couple of sheets that I didn’t want to cut up for just a card. I found the perfect pattern in my Silhouette “patterned papers” and it was a great match. I saved the paper in my stash for a future layout. They have designs for scrapbookers, card makers, and even some fun projects you can cut out for entertaining kids. Oh, and if you have a Cricut or other electronic cutter that connects to your computer, you can still download and use Silhouette files. You just choose the SVG format.

If you are going to make your own kit, the counterfeit kit challenge youtube videos are always a favorite of mine to watch. I may even start making my own kit too this year to use up some stash.
