Something to consider if you decide to use the feature: Friend has facial recognition on MIL's phone. MIL pays bills on her phone. MIL had a stroke and now her face is paralyzed on one side and phone won't open. (I'm not sure if the phone company can unlock it and change the way it is opened.) I guess they will wait on the companies who have no payment arriving to give credit card number over the phone.
In the case above, I presume the phone company can help them unlock the phone and get a new way to open the phone.

Can't she use the code to unlock the phone? Sometimes my facial recognition is wonky so I just type in the code. I have to do this on my mom's phone as well.

If it won’t take the facial recognition you need to use the passcode. So make sure someone knows your passcode if there will be a need to have someone access it. You also need the passcode in other certain situations, it won’t always allow you to use face recognition.
I would say my PSA is the passcode is more important to have access to.

My iPhone doesn't let me enable the facial recognition feature without enabling my passcode.

My iPhone doesn't let me enable the facial recognition feature without enabling my passcode. Yep. And every time there’s an update, I have to put in my passcode again to allow face recognition.

Neither Apple nor a carrier can unlock an iPhone for you if you do not have the biometric or the passcode.

Mine is set up for me with and without glasses. DH is also set up on my phone. He has an SE so I have his passcode. I’m set up on my DD’s phone- she’s 12. We all know each others passcodes.

My facial recognition works for some things and not others, for some reason. Doesn't she have a code? I use my code all of the time.
