Per ACOT ( see here), Ranger/Tim Holtz is expected to release a new Distress color on Saturday, 1/13. What color do you prefer &/or predict will be added? *UPDATE: In celebration of the 20th year of the Distress line that started with a brown, the final new color is Scorched Timber (link to ACOT), "a smoldering deep, dark brown with charred undertones" (see video posted by joblackford ). Thoughts? What's on your wish list?

No predictions but I saw he said it would be the LAST new color for the Distress line...
I'll get it just because I have full set syndrome and I already have all the other colors. I'll pick up the oxide pad and the last Distress ink minis set so that I'll have all of those as well.

He’s said “this is the last color” before. “I feel like our color palette is complete.” And then a few years go by and we suddenly get new colors.
I’m guessing it’s a brown as well. Maybe a fawn color? He can’t put out more colors and then leave out his favorite!

Good grief, I thought I had finally completed my distress oxide collection. Guess I’ll have to hold off working on my Catherine Pooler collection until I get this ‘supposedly’ last oxide color no matter what it is.

Just not into all the whoop-de-doo about "Tim" and his products. Never was. If I like the new color, I might get it at some point. Now to prepare to delete the dozens of email ads I'll get about it. Thanks for the heads-up.

Another one?! Having bought several of these in 2023 I finally decided I had enough colors. Certainly not the entire collection but am satisfied with the ones I have. My favorites are the blues and greens but he pretty much has those covered I'd guess. Maybe a nice soft creamy buttery yellow? Thanks PaperAngel.

I hope it isn't brown. I'd love a darker orange or a teal color. Not sure if I'll get it. Have not of them, but if it is close to another color, I won't feel the need to get it.

Sadly I feel like it will be another boring brown.

I also feel like I have enough to cover the spectrum. I can't imagine where another brown would even be necessary...

I have a complete set of Distress and oxide ink pads so I'll buy it. However I can't say a brown is needed. A deep teal would be good or a true robins egg blue.

I think if it’s a brown, it will be a rich chestnut shade. I’ve always wanted a proper pale baby blue. Tumbled Glass isn’t it. 😊

Just agreeing with those mentioning baby blue, green and orange. I think all have color gaps.

Scorched Timber. Dark brown.

Well, that makes it easy for me. I’ll get the distress minis but that’s all. I have no need for another brown oxide. I have one, and barely use it.

I think I'm over distress inks in general (when I'm not watching TH demo it, lol, he tricks me into thinking I like mixed media!) but I actually quite like this one. He described it as deep dark and cool brown, a bridge between browns and greys, and a way to deepen other shades without using something as harsh as black soot. At some point if I decide I need a brown distress ink (I have none at all) this might be the one I choose.

Ha ha! I like it. But I have very few browns. I was watching a Jamie Pate video, and I think I like Ground Espresso a bit more. May buy the new release or the Espresso on my next order.

Thoughts? What's on your wish list? Are we sure this is really the final color? Hasn't he said that before? It's the last planned, at least the last for a few years. This is the end of a line that he has had in production/planning since about 2020. He always says 'never say never' - it's all up to Ranger and the market and whether there's really any gaps in the palette. I suspect they will work on new products rather than new colors for a while. ETA: Tim said "as far as I'm concerned the palette is complete" with the 72 colors.

Not into the TH craze or distressed inks. But that color is quite boring and bland.

My first reaction was "blah". But, then I realized that this may be the *perfect* edging colour. I still enjoy inking edges, and go between black and the espresso brown distress oxides for it. This could cover both colours?

I've ordered the Oxide and the Spray Stain. I like it, plus I'd like to have a complete set of oxides. I haven't watched his Live from today yet, though - hopefully tomorrow, I find the comparisons to his other colours very helpful.

Not something I’d use much. I do like some of the other browns. This is just too dark for me.
