Is anyone planning to watch anything that won or even was just nominated? I'll probably try the Holdovers and maybe Poor Things. We loved the Bear and this season of Fargo is incredible. I'm sad that Juno Temple & Jon Hamm weren't recognized. I thought Saltburn was weird but I loved Rosamund Pike. She's been great in a number of things. It's about time she got some credit.

Is anyone planning to watch anything that won or even was just nominated? I have Max for the next couple of months thanks to Black Friday so am watching The Last of Us and it keeps you on the edge of your seat and may try Succession. I need to go back through the list and see if anything else looks good. I tried to watch The Bear and couldn't get into it - same with Beef - this was several months ago and I may try again at some point or maybe not - I have heard good things about the Bear. I'd like to see The Holdovers and Poor Things so I'll either rent those or stream them when they are released.

I liked it. But I like Paul Giamatti.

1. Jo Koy's jokes being the dream of Mansplainers and Jo (rogan) Bro's everywhere was gross.
2. Bear is not a comedy! I love it, but it stresses me out. Ha
3. I'd like to see Past Lives, Anatomy of a Fall and Poor Things.
We use awards shows and the Superbowl as an excuse to get together with another couple & enjoy the fashion & whatever food we decide to theme things on. Both of us couples weren't prepared, so now we're super committed to our menus for the Superbowl and Oscars. This shows you that our real commitment is to the food and we should not be taken seriously.

I didn’t watch, so thank you for the recap. Not much of a TV or movie watcher at all, save for about 160 baseball games a year, but this really makes me want to watch The Bear. We love movies about chefs and cooking so I imagine I’ll see it soonish. Pretty sure DH gets Hulu. I’ve also been curious about Only Murders in the Building. Also reminded me I kept meaning to see Barbie, I hate that the host resorted to making it about boobs. I liked Taylor’s dress…but loved her jewelry, especially the earrings. As for dresses that are too big for the seats? Eh, they’re pretty and fun. I get the appeal because when else are you going to get wear something like that? I’m boring and much more likely to dress like Jennifer Aniston, but I like looking at all the fashion. Unless you’re practically naked, don’t love that trend and was happy to not see nearly as much of it as I had been. casii I fully support your priorities for Golden Globes and Oscars, sounds fun! But no, the Suoerbowl is about commercials and possibly football, depending on who’s playing. Food is secondary, and I so rarely say that!

I heard that he accepted the job 10 weeks ago, because no one else would do it. Says a lot about the state of things, doesn't it. I'm not sure when awards show MC became such a difficult and controversial job. Why do they have to joke and roast, etc.? I get that it's entertainment, but really, in the essence of not making the show last 14 hours, can't we just announce the upcoming awards and presenters and move along? LOLOL! They give the MC too much time to fill. I'm sure the people in the audience are just ready to get the awards announced and get to the after parties! Hehehe!

The only one I might watch is Barbie and that’s because of Ryan Gosling.

Hollywood has become increasingly thin-skinned and self righteous that they would be a really tough crowd for any MC. They just want the adulation and a pulpit to spout their views from. At least the Globes were a bit streamlined even if they hit a new low this year. The Oscars are a bloated mess with needless filler. Just show me the dresses, clips from the movies, a few bars of each nominated song, and who died last year. If you don’t have something witty or profound to say, just thank your agent in an email. I usually record it and fast forward through all the fluff. 😝

I like that the Oscars have the singers actually come out and perform their songs. The Globes didn't have a "in memoriam" section did they or did I miss it?

I just took another look who’s up for SAG awards.
Wouldn't it be funny if Barbie beat Mission Impossible for this award?
