I'm almost afraid to look!
I spent about $3,100 on my card-making/scrapbooking hobby last year! I think this is the most I've ever spent in a year. Mainly because of the events I started attending (Crop & Create Delivered (3), PinkFresh (1), Stamp Joy (1), etc.). At a couple hundred dollars each, they can add up quickly!
I've got to get this under control before I retire! How much did YOU spend last year? Fess up!

I don’t what to know, at my age the total could trigger a heart attack, LOL. I know this, it was more then I should have but less then I could have if I had bought all the things I have on my wish lists.

I spent close to 4K. That's alot but not the most I have spent ever. My max was 6400 in 2022.

I’m not exactly in the position to buy a ton of new product, but I look for sales, and get credit from using my credit card on other purchases, that I use to buy dies, etc. I can’t put a number on what I spent, as most of it was discounted or even free with my credits.

Far too much. I have spent so long “finding my style” which has been an expensive exercise. My hope this year is to use it or lose it (ie sell or gift) to really streamline my “must haves”. the same is also true of my clothes and shoe purchases, as well as make up products!

Oh my. I'm not certain it would be wise to put that number out in the open. I will say I took both the C&CD card classes, All of the PF card classes, and I think both PF Scrapbooking events plus monthly shopping, and it isn't pretty. I have vowed to cut way, way back this year.

My budget is $100 per month and I stuck with that, so my total was approximately $1200. In addition to that, I spent $2000 to redo my craft room. I like having a budget because I can really prioritize what I buy....some months it goes for "necessities" like card stock, cricut blades, ink refills, etc. and sometimes I splurge on stamps, dies, etc. that catch my fancy.

For giggles, I downloaded my credit card transactions. I spent just under $4,000. What surprises me the most is that of all the stores, AliExpress was where I spent the most money. 45% of my crafting dollars was spent at 4 places: AliExpress and Concord & 9th for product and PinkFresh and Crop & Create for events. The Concord & 9th spending is interesting. It's double what I spent at any other store. Who knew I liked them so much! I also have zero regrets about spending this much money on crafts. This is really my only vice.

Well this was an interesting exercise. I've never really kept tabs on what I spend for this hobby so I went back and tried to tally up what I spent in 2023.
Estimated total - $2685
That basically breaks down to: Retreats (3 times last year) - $582 Online events (3 last year) - $691 Expo/Conventions (2 last year) - $400 (includes tickets plus purchases/classes if any) Product/Shopping (estimated) - $1012

Last year on stamping products I spent roughly $1300, and $650 on classes. Yes, I'm a dork and keep track of all our spending categories. I think it's interesting to see the changes over the year.

I concur with this...well, maybe not being old enough for a heart attack, but the not wanting to know, for sure. And the knowing it could have been worse.

I don't keep track of hobby costs specifically. We have a category for "fun" in the spending spreadsheet which includes a lot of different things and my bank's yearly spending breakdown was not very helpful. It looks like I spent about $350 at scrapbook dot com and $150 at a couple of other brand shops. No paid classes or events. My envelope costs are fairly high $150ish? but they are effectively a donation, as is the cost of postage to card charities. Maybe another $50 for digital scrap supplies.

I'm going to guess-timate about $500. That seems quite a bit considering I have not bought any paper in at least 6-7 months, and have cut back on stamp sets, but I did buy a few pricier items. Tuesday Morning closing surely helped curb my spending.

I just organized a huge box of new pretties. I wrote up 6 pages of a list of said pretties that I bought in 2023 and haven't used yet. I'm scared to think of the amount I spent.

I have to say, a lot of what I spent at the end of the year is for events THIS year. So I should be spending less this year (yeah, right....)
