I have decided that part of what I love about some collections is the quality and weight of the paper I use. Which brands/designers/ranges have really good quality heavy duty card? I can love a print or collection but not enjoy using it because it doesn’t look/feel right to me.

Catherine Pooler, Club Scrap (though their collections skew hard on solids with only 2 or 3.patterns and some of their patterns have some gloss), and Stamps of Life are some I can think that have patterned card stock rather than paper.

I am not a big fan of their designs but Carta Bella has a really good and thick paper. Their papers are also not shiny which I like. They are the thickest I have seen in the industry and I have papers from most companies. But their paper does have some texture which you may or may not like depending on your choice.
Another one I really like is Pinkfresh Studio papers because they are matte and not glossy at all. They are not as thick as Carta Bella but also not very thin. Matte finish makes it easier to glue things down.
I am not a fan of American crafts papers or photoplay papers. Photoplay papers are not my style either. American crafts papers are always inconsistent in terms of thickness and quality. I have some from older collections which are really nice and some I have are very thin.
Hope this helps.

49 & Market. Pricy but gorgeous. I use both sides of it, so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

P13 is dreamy. High rag content and just luscious. 😻

I second 49 and Market. Their paper is a nice heavy weight and I love their mixed media look.

I don't like the texture of Carta Bella. Pink Fresh is good, but the best is 49 and market hands down!

49 & Market has really heavy paper. I love it. It makes great backgrounds because it is so sturdy.
I love Carta Bella paper, too. I'm a big fan of texture- I always use textured cardstock.
Club Scrap's papers are glossy and are a bit hard to work with for me. They slide all over the place.

I agree with 49 & Market being amazing! Carta Bella is nice too with a texture. Older Authentique had that same texture and thickness if you want some older stuff. Pinkfresh is also nice and sturdy. Older My Mind's Eye was nice and thick and some of it had texture also. Webster's Pages is also an older brand but their papers were nice and thick and heavy. I know there's a couple others...I might have to go look at my paper rack! LOL

3 quarter designs have nice paper, and if you like fussy cutting - they have that covered as well

I just checked my stash. 49 & Market is definitely the sturdiest. Pinkfresh and Simple Srories are good. Actually most of my paper is decent weight. The only thin ones are single sheets or pads I picked up at big box stores.

Another vote for Carta Bella paper. Love the weight & texture of it. Remember the old days (1990s - early 2000s) when some of the pp-s were SO thin? The designs were great but the paper really wasn't meant to be used as backgrounds. Like Karen Foster (loved her designs) and Mustard Moon?

I don't mind thinner papers, since they all go in page protectors anyway. Cardstock, on the other hand, has to be at least 80 lb. for me to use it as a base.
That being said, I love the weight of 49 and Market, P13, Mintay, and Vicky Boutin. There are many other companies that make heavier papers, but these are the ones that came to mind right away.

The equivalent of the 49 and Market weight of card :-) I'm not a 49 & Market customer, so I searched & found, per the description, the paper weighs 100 lb. For pattern papers of similar weight (100 lb/270 gsm), see this thread. If interested in more information about scrapbook paper weight/thickness, check out the SB.com article. HTH.
