When that random sticker you have thought about tossing will suddenly be worth digging through everything in your stash to find...
I have thought about throwing out that javelin sticker several times, but today I actually used it. Do I joust? Do I own a horse? Am I ever going to go to a Renaissance Faire? Nope.
But my daughters went on a trip last year, and went to a theme restaurant and while the photos they took were horrible, the javelin sticker was just the thing I needed to finish the page.
What have you hoarded that came in useful recently?
ETA: ok, maybe it's a lance not a javelin... whatever people joust with... that long pointy thing.

I have a rhino button. I haven't used it, but I also have a picture of two rhinos mating. Denver Zoo. On a field trip with 28 students. One of my kids expressed that one rhino climbed on the other rhino so he could look out the window in the door. All of the adults around me looked at me to see how I would respond. Yup, I went with it and everyone was grinning. Then the darn rhino keeper came over to explain that they were mating and I've never heard so many "Ewwws!" in my life. One of my top ten favorite teaching days.

I love it!
I can't think of what it was, but I remember telling DH it was official, I had everything in my stash when I used something really obscure and random.

I haven't used anything specific lately, that I can think of. I am currently in an inactive phase of scrapbooking. My "actively scrapbooking:"....ebbs and flows. Active, inactive, active, inactive, etc....
I am a firm believer of >> If I like it then buy it (as long as my budget allows it), because you never know when you might need it or want to use it. Especially since the new releases are usually (but not always) a one or two time releases........and when it's gone it's gone. Unless you can find it on re-sale type websites or places like ebay, craigslist, yard sales, fb market, etc... or small business type websites like etsy, etc... I've gotten lucky and acquired quite a bit of older product this way.

Yup, and that's why: 1. I don't de-stash (much) 2. I like to "flip thru" my stash occasionally and remind myself of those items that might be useful sometime. Even in a sarcastic sense.

Haha "It's official, I've completed my stash collection". Sometimes when I'm bored online I'll tell my husband I've finished the internet. I'm pretty sure he thinks I've also completed my scrapbooking stash collection, too.

I love it when I can dig out something that I never thought I'd use.
I have a group of friends that all teach, but not the traditional four subjects (special ed., art, tech, etc.) One of them dubbed us the magical unicorns. All of a sudden I'm able to scrap with unicorns. I was quite proud the first time I put one on a page.
I have a million Bingo cards, because in the old days (and I see they are coming back) every collection had them. I have used them as layering pieces in the past, so they weren't a total waste. But now I play Bingo some Monday nights and I have photos. Now my problem is picking out the absolute best Bingo card to scrap those photos.

I think I still have some Jenni Bowlin bingo cards stashed...somewhere. I just moved, and have mostly unpacked, but there are some things that seem to be missing in action. My most recent random soon-to-be-used item is a coffee cup shaped album. Years ago, I used to be on the Clear Scraps design team, and they sent it to me in one of my design team boxes. At the time, I didn't used to drink coffee at all, ever, so I thought, "I'm never gonna use this". I didn't declutter it, though. Fifteen years went by. Fast forward to now, and I just fell in love with Stamperia's Coffee and Chocolate paper collection. I ordered some of that last night. (So much for my plan to stay in the freezer! ) So if I can find the coffee cup album, I'll probably use it. If I can't find it, plan B is to just wing it and make my own album.

Not necessarily hoarded, but I used my brayer the other day. It’s probably been a good 10 years since I’ve used it and I’ve had it for 20+ years. I’ve had it since I first started papercrafting.

Years ago I bought a kit and there were these little metal labels. One said ‘Forever’. I never could fit that in. Turns out it was perfect for a layout I was doing with my San Francisco vacation pictures—my trip to Alcatraz .

Funny you should mention that. I got a brayer when I first started paper crafting, too. It didn't work (the roller stuck in one spot and wouldn't budge). I was totally bummed out about that at the time. I still wanted a functioning brayer, but I never bothered getting another one... ...until a few days ago. I didn't set out looking for a brayer, but I got a pack of foam brushes that happens to have a foam brayer in it. I'd never seen one like that before, and I was skeptical that it would work or be useful. But I bought it because I wanted the other non-brayer foam brushes in the pack. As it turns out, the thing rolls really well, so I have been using it. Is it just me, or are a lot of old school craft supplies making a comeback? For example, I've been seeing a lot of eyelets around lately.
