After some thought I guess I don’t generally have fss but I have a bit of an obsession with certain types of things and find them hard to resist, for example, alphabet dies and stickers (Thickers, flat, etc). If I like a font I have a very hard time not buying the dies or stickers but I don’t have fss, I don’t think.

I used to. I bought only a few collections, but when I did it was because I truly loved it. Therefore I had to have everything, except for mixed media. I haven't bought paper supplies in a very long time, but now I know what would and wouldnnt get used.

I said sometimes because in the past I definitely did. Especially when it came to buying inks or markers from SU! It was just cheaper to buy the set instead of individuals (even if that was an option) fast forward 10 years and some of those ink pads haven't been even used. And truly I didn't like how the ink stamped. So I sold them all and bought myself most of the Gina K ink cube collection. Not all but majority of them because I wanted a complete (to me) color set. Again it was cheaper to buy some as sets. But as much as I like the oxides I don't feel like I need them all. Full set/complete collection of scrapbook lines? That totally depends on how much I like it and budget at that moment.

I typically don’t buy an entire set both because of amount and cost, but then I look at some great projects and wish I did! The creative teams are so good at using the product that I want to replicate it.

I said never. There might be one or two collections that I've bought everything of, but I generally cherry pick what I want to buy. This also holds true for tools like ink pads, where I have no problem buying across different brands to get the colours I want.

<sob> I'm so weak...12 more Memento Dew Drops are ordered from Michaels (best price I could find, on sale) using a reward certificate.
Now the only four I "need" seem the most difficult to find. I kind of want to call Imagine and them to that order, which hasn't shipped yet.
I got it bad with these....
Good news is that I don't seem to have it for Prismacolor pencils!

No. When I started scrapping I had a very small budget and now I know what colors and types of items I will use. Of course I say this as I am waiting on 5 distress oxides to come in the mail... but I only own about 10, and none of them were yellow and I only had one shade of orange

Thanks for your participation in the poll & responses. I'm among the 38% that doesn't have FSS, since I painstakingly overanalyze each purchase & do not like/would never use every ink color, pattern paper, embellishment type, etc.

I won a full set of Stickles many years ago at a retreat. It might be the only full set I’ve ever had.
I started to have FSS with Distress Oxides. But then I realized there were too many too similar colors.
I want to have FSS with the Copics I got at Hobby Lobby back during the huge clearance. But again, similar colors.
I do buy every single Glitter Glaze that Brutus Monroe puts out, but I use them up so I can’t ever say I’ve had a full set of it at one time.

I said "Sometimes" due to my early years of scrapbooking. Back when FSS was all of the Provocraft stacks. LOL, there were a few Basic Grey paper and ephemera, stamps, rubons that were during that era.
I do own FS of Memento Dual Tip markers and a few other Tsukineko/Imagine product lines. But I did not purchase them, they were payment for being on their DT for three years. Because of that I've not gotten into Tim Holtz, Gina K, or Altenew ink lines. I have way too many already!
NOW, not so much for anything. Mostly because I have a ton of stuff already. I do wish it were all with me in MN instead of still being in OR. I need to use up what I have!

That is one thing I am so glad passed me by. I remember when everyone was buying ALL THE Stickles. I got 2 - Christmas red and green. Same with ink pads - I get some in the range of colors I like. I do not buy all the colors. Not that I wouldn't like to. LOL In 20 years, I own maybe 20 CTMH ink pads. Thankfully, none have dried out. LOL I use them all because I only buy them for a specific purpose or because they are in a color range that I know I will use.

With ink…YES. I have the distress inks but not a single oxide. And I keep up with complete set of SU in pads…although the mix of older pads and new style pads make storage difficult. And the every color of Colorbox Chalk Ink.

Sometimes, but it truth pretty rarely. Copics are one of my weaknesses. To be fair I do use them on everything I make and the only full set I have is Originals (bullet/chisel). I have been adding some Sketches to my collection mostly for pastel blenders and colours that only exist in Sketch size. Plenty of things I'd like to own but am not willing to pay full price for, so that works out well as a limiter.

I am a complete-set-aholic I know it's a problem. That's the first step. It's why I limit the brands of things I'll buy. For Distress I only have Oxides and now color pencils. I won't buy inks or other offerings because it'll spiral and I'll be overwhelmed with Distress
I wanted to get some stamping ink recently and read reviews of different brands. Looked at how many inks/coordinating products each brand had. I went with Concord & 9th. I started with just the colors I'd need for Christmas cards. Then I ordered enough to have a rainbow. I just last night ordered more to have the colors for each MLB team (what I scrapbook most). The biggest thing that helped cut down on my immediately wanting to buy them all is I bought the cardstock sample pack and I made a swatch book. So I can see the colors compared to what I'm working on. My order last night was to also get the cardstock sample pack for the new 6 colors they released. So I can see if I "need" any of those colors and then kinda fill out a 2-3 per color family set and be happy. And I really like the thickness and quality of their cardstock and love that it all matches.

Not only do I refuse to buy full sets of things, if I see a product that I can tell will just keep coming out with new additions each month (like Jaded Blossom's gnome dies) I will resist buying even one so I'm not tempted to keep adding and adding. I just don't have the space, the time, the energy... etc. And I find it difficult to commit to only one thing, so although I would love to have all of Catherine Pooler's inks and *only* have those I know I will end up wanting other inks too. Even if I could trust that the palette was complete (so I could budget to buy the full set and be done) I know there are colors I wouldn't use (so many browns!) Ditto with the gnomes- but I did cave for some of the accessory sets which are fab for cards- cute little fishing rods for example. i have bought most of Catherine Pooler ink pads Spa collection and whenever I think I need the brighter colours I look at the ones I have and think…nah not really I sold my Altenew cubes and full-size lawn fawn pads[ not full sets]and don’t regret it - CP ink pads suit me better I hope I can stay that way.
