How about a sketch to help kickstart your weekend ? I have an example to share, but I forgot to photograph it during daylight hours today, so it will show up tomorrow morning. snowflake chevron sketch hip kit by kirstendrew, on Flickr My eyes immediately saw "snowflake" created by the chevrons, but I also imagine sun rays, or just any photo begging for attention! I did not create the sewed circle on mine. I added embellishments in a rough circle shape. And I used a pre-made background by Vicki B. to add a mixed media look behind my chevrons, but added a few spots of extra ink to hold the extra 2 circular photos. I was also thrilled to use my new Doodlebug winter collection. And then I ended up mostly colour-matching scraps to create the chevrons as I couldn't bear to cut into my new pp The only new pp I cut into is the white with small snowflakes that makes up one of the chevrons. **I cut my chevrons using a die that cuts nesting diamond frames so all I had to do was cut that in half and I had a chevron. This was super quick to create because I ran all the sizes through nested together, and only had to make 1 pass for each colour. You could also cut squares, and cut those diagonally, then "gut" the triangle to make a thinner chevron. Or you could use overlapping triangles/squares cut in half and you would get a more solid looking chevron with more colour/pp showing. I think less uniform chevrons - like hand cut - would be really cool too. And apologies for the punny title. Once I thought of it I couldn't turn away. layout miss elle tow by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Oooooh, kitbop... Love how unique this sketch is! Hmmm.... I do not yet have a January calendar page... A big background snowflake might just be what I need. I definitely will not be stitching anything, but I like the look of the overlapping circles, but I will add mine with a pen.

Your page is AMAZING, kitbop!!! So pretty with all those colours and snowflakes. So much work to cut and attach all those fine line chevrons.

Dang you, kitbop. Look what you made me buy! Saw this on sale at Spellbinders this morning. And I SAVED $14. Like I wasn't just mumbling yesterday that I have too many dies...

that's a nice snowflake die grammadee - and you live someplace with enough snow to make it useful. I have a couple of snowflake dies and a SU snowflake stamp set but lack the snow...Thankfully I've gotten some lovely snowy Antartica pics sent to me recently so...

So I ordered the snowflake die, but I put together my page with a TREE die to represent the snowflake LOL. January '25 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thanks, kitbop. I needed to get this calendar page done.

Beautiful grammadee - the white on royal blue combined with your photo is stunning! Really cool way to use a tree die - VERY clever of you!

gorgeous layout grammadeeso...I don't think mine ended up much like the sketch but I started with the idea of an Octopus as the circle with the tentacles in lieu of chevrons and well...it did it's own after that
