I am reorganizing and shrinking my craft space. I am trying to get a lot of supplies into the closet in my craft room. The difficulty is that the closet is fairly shallow. It has shelving built into one side of it. I’m not right now willing to get someone in to build shelving into the other side, which is probably what I should do—this reorganizing/purging is because a pipe burst down there during a recent freeze, and that is enough home improvement work for me for now.
My two choices are therefore for now to get some longer, shallowshelving to take up part of the width of the closet, or to get some narrow shelving that fits in the other end of the closet and keep the Kallax cart I already have in there in the middle (the house fuse boxes are in that closet, so I can’t have tall shelving widthwise in the closet). I measured, and the closet is too shallow/for Kallax either lenthwise or widthwise. Does anyone have either a tall, narrow shelving unit they like or a wider, shallow shelving unit they like?

Check out online sales yard sale type sites, thrift shops, and the like.
Or get a hammer and nails and a saw and some wood. Don't be "just a girl".

Not sure of the measurements of your space but would a narrow Billy bookcase from IKEA fit? just shy of 16" side to side and 11" deep

Oh, don't worry, my husband and I are equally crappy at home repairs/construction! I actually do want to take a cabinetry class at some point, because I'm a big reader and I would love to make my own bookshelves to my specifications. I think that's going to have to be a retirement project, though!

I have a Billy facing sideways in my closet. I was able to get the slightly wider one, but it was the half height and I have paper trays stacked on top. It holds quite a bit of my stuff. Ikea may even have some other options that would fit as well.

Will a smaller size cube unit fit? I have the BHG 2 x 3. I have a bigger size closet, so I have several of them, that fit in there. I like the small size, because it gives me more placement options and moving around options.
Other ideas.... Short rolling carts that have various size drawers. Short bookcase.

Could you take the doors off then have the shelving stick out into the room? I think Costco here in Canada has metal shelving on sale right now. Maybe someone in a local Buy Nothing Facebook group is giving away something

I'm not following the description but suggest taking measurements to the closet/kitchen/garage storage aisles at home improvement stores (e.g. Lowe's, Home Depot), Ikea, Target/Walmart, etc. HTH & you find the ideal solution.

I ended up buying a Billy bookcase and an extra shelf for it. It works in the space and I am happy with it, but have definitely learned that I have waaaaay too many stamps and need to do some culling. In general, I need to purge more aggressively than I have—in my old house I had custom-built cabinets and it was easy to manage my stash because I didn’t buy what didn’t fit, but here, I’ve just stuck things all over the place and it’s too much. I don’t need every generic Studio Calico stamp that came in years of kits!

I have both shallow shelving (that I love!) and the cubes in my closet. I much prefer the built to size shelving. It was really easy to do and Home Depot will make the cuts for you. Both kinds of shelves hold a ton. The left side has built to size that were maybe 11-12 inches deep, but I prefer not too deep or I can't get to things. I made these a few years ago for another closet, but they worked in this closet with about 5 inches to spare on one side. This site won't let me attach pictures.

The Target version of the Kallax is a bit smaller. It might not fit albums, but they'll still hold 12x12 paper. (the 13" will hold paper. The 11" doesn't)
I would watch Facebook Marketplace or thrift stores for some good deals.
When I've been shelf shopping I actually take a couple of what I plan to store with me to measure. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but it means I don't buy stuff that won't work.

I went to TJMAXX the other day and saw quite a few racks that looked like they would fit in a small space.

... I have to cull those for sure , and also get rid of any stamps that don’t really stick. To restore the "stickiness" of photopolymer stamps, simply employ the sink drain stopper before gently cleaning (not soaking) stamps in warm soapy water (using a soap without moisturizers/etc.), rinsing thoroughly with plain warm water, & letting them air dry (not on paper towels or other material that may cling to the wet stamp). HTH

you can never go wrong with Billy bookcases for shallow stand-alone shelving.
i actually installed shelves in my craft room closet. i just bought the wire shelving and brackets at Home Depot, cut and installed them myself.

The BH&G version from Walmart, however, is a smaller opening and won’t fit WRMK albums. Some of my BH PL albums fit, and some don’t.

Yep, I just ordered BH&G version to get my 12x12 albums off the floor. Some fit well, but the HL albums with metal corners just barely squeak in.
