Welcome to February. I've been hard at work on my granny blanket for my camper. I have a lot of crafts planned for February. I wrote it all down in my planner. I am so close to having my pinwheel quilt top put together. I also ordered and received two new 1/4" feet yesterday that I hope will fit better on my old sewing machine. I'm thinking if I can get a tighter fit that my seams will be better. Also I took the week of February 19th off work. I plan to get the camper quilt put together on my staycation. I'm looking forward to that. I need to buy some solid fabric to go with it. Just a warm white will do the trick. I'm going to have that quilt machine quilted by a woman in my community who does this. It'll be expensive but worth it I think. I also would like to get my project life caught up. I have 3 months that need to be done. I'm pretty busy this weekend though so I don't think I'll get to it soon. Anyway, happy February. ❤️

jeremysgirl you look as snug, love the amount of light you are working in. Lovely happy colours in your blanket. Like you, I have plans.... Should be finished my version of Bonnie Fair isle today or tomorrow. It's a great pattern to use up unused balls from other projects. Here's a link to the pattern if anyone is interested www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bonnie-fair-isle-mosaic-afghanAfter that I have two quilts at the quilt and bind stage, one I'm hoping to practice ruler work on. Will definitely be a learning curve. I have given myself until March to get all three projects done, so one will be ticked off by the weekend.

Hello jeremysgirl, wellway and all. Happy February. It has come round far too quickly! Great that you have a break to look forward to jeremysgirl and that you know what you plan to do. Your granny blanket is beautiful. I won't be too far behind you in the finishing stakes wellway. I have a few more rows to go to of the border for the black and cream blanket then I shall move onto finishing my pocket shawl so I hope to get at least two things finished this month. I have other WIPs I can head to or there was a cardigan I quite fancied so I'll decide later. I'm hoping I might even get some paper crafts done but I only whispered that to myself, I didn't mention it here. What's everyone else up to?

gillyp doesn't the border take longer and way more yarn than you expect? I'm doing a double envelope border and it is eating yarn. Luckily I have enough of one colour to make it looked planned rather than whatever!

Good morning! I can't remember if I finished the body of my queen-sized Casablanca blanket I've been crocheting for eleventy billion years (at least it feels like that long!) in late December or early January, but in any case the body is done - I just need to do the envelope border which is no easy task. However I put that aside to crochet a baby blanket for my new grandson who is due at the end of March. I whipped that up pretty quickly and just have two rows of the border to do before it's finished. I should get that done this weekend.
Scrapbooking-wise, I finally finished scrapping the photos from our 2021 Disney World trip. I ended up with 3 albums worth of layouts. Next up is the photos from our trip to Paris and Seine River cruise we did last June. I got those ordered, sorted by day, and now I'm just sorting them into layout. I like to do that upfront from a big project so when I finish one layout I can just grab the next set of photos and be ready to start a new layout.
Lastly, I finally started learning to paint watercolors. I bought supplies about 6 months ago but never even opened the packages until a few weeks ago. I'm very much at the beginner stage but I'm enjoying it. I've been watching YouTube videos and also bought a how-to book. My goal is to enjoy myself and have a creative outlet that's easy to take with me when I travel for work. I'm a scientist and have realized that I need creative time to balance all of the analytical time I spend at work.
Happy February crafting everyone!

Welcome to February everyone.
I am currently working on a little sweater that is a test knit for a designer I like. The deadline is February 20, but I’ll have it done well before then. Once that is done, I have another sweater planned for me. I also want to get my craft room desk cleared so I have space to scrapbook and also to work on my new journal/planner that I started last week. I am doing an online class for creative bullet journaling, so I am pacing myself as I work through the lessons. I should finish the lessons mid- month and then I just need to keep the momentum happening. DH gave me a gift voucher for Christmas so I can do some craft courses. He saw one pottery class and gave me enough to do that, but I think I am going to do a couple of cheaper classes. One I like the look of is raised embroidery, which is in March, so I need to book for that soon. The rest of the value of the voucher can wait until I get back from Australia in early April.

jeremysgirl - your granny blanket is coming out beautifully and I love the photo of you working on it. A couple of weeks ago Becky Higgins made a suggestion to capture yourself working on something that you often do. I never thought of that before, but I ended up taking a photo of myself crocheting too. I'm glad I did and glad you did too and encourage everyone else here to get a photo of you working on one of your projects. It's a big part of who we are, so we should capture the moment.
scraphappy0501 - I really want to do watercolors - I've painted about 3 (using YouTube tutorials), but I have so much to learn. I even took a beginning water color class. It was only for one day, but introduced you to the basics. I have to keep reminding myself...it's just paper...if you mess up, what's the big deal? I have to give up that perfectionist thinking. I can't wait to see what you do and you've inspired me to paint something this month, so that will be one of my goals.
My other goal this month is to finish up an afghan I started a while back. I enjoy the pattern, but my cats also enjoy coming to sit with me while I try to crochet so its been on hiatus for a bit. I've ordered more yarn to make another prayer shawl (same yarn and pattern as last month's shawl, just a different color), but not sure I will get started on that this month or not. Will just have to see. I'm trying to make 6 prayer shawls this year (one ever 2 months), but in reality, I'd loved to make 12 - one a month.
Our local library is having a "Cocoa & Crochet" day on Valentine's Day. Its for all skill levels and they will even teach beginners if they want to learn and they serve hot chocolate. I'm planning on going. It should be fun.

A blanket always takes too long and then when you have to do a pocket border? Well my skull blanket still has fringe. Haha.. He saw one pottery class and gave me enough to do that I really would love to learn pottery. I know that's not going to be your choice, but it definitely would be mine. jeremysgirl - I am still going to do a pottery class, just not the one he chose. It is a similar length class, but I like the class photos of what they make better and it is more conveniently located - I don’t think DH looked at details like that when he bought the voucher.

I'm nearing the end of Briar Rose - nobody can answer my question in the group though - the pattern lists a yardage for the wool - but nobody can tell me how many repeats that is for!! But I think I can only do 6 repeats - which means I'm 4 rows away from starting the border - yay!

I do watercolors and find it very theraputic. I took a couple of classes and have the basics. I pop in every now and then, because I am always threatening to knit something. My problem is that I can knit and purl, but I can't fix my own mistakes. So, I give up after a bit, because I have a mess on my hands. Any suggestions would be appreciated?
Jeremysgirl, that blanket is gorgeous. I love the colors and pattern.

I haven't done any crafts in like a week. 😳 But, I took a cookie decorating class on Sunday. It was so fun. And the instructor gave out her recipes. So...Chloe saw this and was here on Monday doing laundry. She begged me to bake some cookies and teach her what I learned in the class on Saturday. ❤️ So I told her I would definitely bake some cookies. It was just too cute how much she wanted to bake cookies. So I'll put my scrapbook stuff away and spend some time doing cookies with her on Saturday.

I finished a sock! It's all scraps from other socks, the ends were horrendous and weaving in is not my forte with knitting.

That combo of yarns is so pretty. I would never have guessed it was a combo of leftovers. Looks so much like it was just a normal sock yarn ball. It's almost beachy.

Off the needles, ends woven in, washed and drying on the rack. This is a test knit for Kiddiwinksknits called Zandra that I test knit. It will be for Lucia when I see her in March.

gillyp - that is stunning. Is it a mosaic crochet? It is. That's my favourite thing to crochet at the moment. The sweater is great sueg; I love the texture. If I had little people to knit for I'd be making that.

It’s finally done! Kind of excited - this is one of the more simple Hooked on Sunshine so it was getting boring lol. Briar Rose, 6 repeats then the border, Colton Kings Sultan in Rose Tourmaline, 3.5mm hook 😊 headed on vacation today and didn’t think the beach in Mexico was the best place to start a new project so that will begin when I’m home!

I finished a pair of ankle socks. I'm on a mission to use up all my leftovers/part balls this year, I'll probably end up with some very mismatched socks!
