Good morning.
Welcome to February. I have to run to the UPS store and drop off an Amazon return and then get a couple things at the store. The rest of the day will be light w/a puzzle and chores.
Dh wants rechauffe fajitas and I also made air fryer tortilla chips. He said they were tasty. Easiest thing in the universe to make. What's on your menu?
What are you up to today?
How is everyone doing?
Wishing everyone a day w/happy things, fulfillment and whatever you wish for yourselves.

What happened to January? I feel like the only big thing I accomplished was taking down Christmas! I'll get serious about working on our taxes today. It's nasty out so I'll hunker down. Dinner will be pot roast with carrots, potatoes and onions. Is anyone else watching the show The Floor with Rob Lowe? We're getting a kick out of it!

well.. dinner tonight will be repeat.. salad, a very small slice of toast and a salmon cake. it is mixed rain and snow outside. but I am getting brave and going to the big mountain..should be better 3000 ft higher.. but cloudy.. or foggy.. we will see how the skiing actually is. testing out my ski coat in foul weather.
poor dh.. his sister sent a group text message to his aunt, a friend and him that she is holding her tongue dealing with my dh.. he confronted her on it and she brushed it off but he is not anxious to deal with her on anything. they do not have a close relationship.. he only has 6 more days at. his mom's.

I sent your meme to Jeremy a few weeks ago cadoodlebug. He loves bacon so much it's become something of a joke around here. I don't think I accomplished anything in January either. But when I really sit down and think about things, I guess I did. I'm feeling a bit better. My mental energy is more up in the morning and then down a bit more in the evenings. But it's better. Things are better. I'm glad to be back with you. I'm going to Mom's for dinner tonight so we will have whatever she is making. I don't even know. Jeremy is out of state for a funeral. He'll be staying with his family until Sunday. I just watched a guy walk from what looked like my back fence and down my driveway and now I'm a bit freaked out. He was wearing a Covid mask so I'm sure he was up to no good. I called the police. But now I don't want to be alone.

Happy February 1st! The weather is going to be really nice again in DFW in the low 70s. A nice change from a chilly January.
I think I'm going to take my parents out for dinner tonight. I'm picking up a grocery order today but really don't feel like cooking so if they don't want to go out, I'll order something in.
Hope you all have a great day and start of the month!

Good evening all I had a quieter day today. Me cleaner came this morning and so I worked on a few things in my craft room out of his way. After lunch I walked down to the grocery store to get something for dinner. I had planned something for myself, but DH messaged yesterday to say he had moved his flight home from one arriving at 9pm tonight to one coming in mid afternoon, so he’d be home for dinner. Some good news today from my dad - my step mum has responded well to the second antibiotic they gave her and is well enough to come home from hospital on the weekend. She’ll still be on oral antibiotics for a bit and will need to continue physiotherapy, but it will be great for her to be home after more than a month cooped up in hospital or rehab. Dinner is going to be pasta alla Norma - a Sicilian dopier with eggplants, tomatoes and a hint of chilli. I have the eggplants roasting in the oven and will do the rest later. jeremysgirl - I think you did the right thing calling the police. That guy sounds real shady to me. Better safe than sorry.

Good Morning ! I am so happy January is over. It just seemed like such a long month. The plumber finally came late afternoon yesterday (been waiting since Monday). He fixed the toilet but now it looks like I have to fix the floor in that area. I'm trying to see if I can get it done today. Other then that I'm going to continue crafting and watching movies. It's a new month and I'm going to try to stay positive I have no idea what we are having for dinner.

jeremysgirl , you did the right thing by calling the police. I'm hoping he was just from the electric company and there to read your meter or one of those solicitors who tapes signs for ewaste or curb painting on your house. Your doors are locked and it's daylight. You're safe. ntsf , death brings out so much family drama. It's too bad that your dh has to put up w/it. Are they at least staying in separate places, so that he can get some peace and quiet? Have fun on the slopes today. In my mind, I'm sitting on the sidelines, building a snowman and drinking hot cocoa. Tearisci , you're such a good daughter. Have a yummy dinner, no matter what you decide to do. cadoodlebug , did we have the same January? It was a wonky month and I'm not sad to see it go. sueg , that's very good news about your stepmum. Both your dad and stepmum will be so much happier when she's home safe and sound.

Well, I have heat!!!! They sent a repairman and he just left ... got a new thermostat and he fixed whatever the problem was ... so if it gets cold outside again I won't have freezing cold bedrooms! My main rooms don't get too bad thankfully ... It's supposed to get up to 8 degrees Celsius today so super nice! I washed the Jeep the other day and it's already splattered because of all the melting. No big plans today ... I will email the sub desk and check on my status ... Hopefully I can start subbing sometime next week ... Dinner is up in the air ... depends if I feel like cooking Did the police show up jeremysgirl? I would be concerned too! I have so many people wandering around my complex because the road/parking lot out front is kind of busy ... my mum would love living in my unit because she could people watch all day! She's a busybody.

But I am worried that you are freaked out. Did the police stop by? The police sent a patrol car to my neighborhood but I didn't see them because I'm in working. They haven't called or anything to follow up.

You can probably call the community service number and ask for an update, jeremysgirl. Can you text your neighbors and see if he was in anyone else's yard?

He wasn't in the yards of either of my neighbors with cameras. So no one got a pic. I should have thought to take one.

jeremysgirl that’s always the stuff that happens when the significant other is out of town. Maybe he was just cutting through. I had that happen a couple times at my old house. Always at night of course. Our yards were all fully fenced with privacy fences too. Now I have ring cameras at all the doors. My immediate 2 neighbors have elaborate security cameras and systems. The wife beater across the street has 6 cameras that I can see on his house. Dinner is supposed to be a cooking class with dd1 but she’s at the dr and may not feel up to it. I’m watching Luke. He has pink eye. If she can’t go dh will have to. Thank goodness you have heat finally leannec

I’m not feeling great today. I woke up with a sore throat, headache and stuffy nose. I’m hoping it’s just a cold and won’t stay too long. Grandboy #1 is supposed to come for a sleepover tomorrow because it’s a PD Day and typically DH and him spend the day together. He will spend the night as well. I’ll let DS know that I’m not feeling well but it probably won’t affect the visit. YDS has dropped by so DH can help him get his dirt bike in working order so he can sell it. Walker is mending well. Still wearing the cone when outside and we put a sock on his leg where the IV was to stop him from licking it. It’s shaved and I think it feels different for him so he pays it a lot of attention. cadoodlebug: I’m watching The Floor and enjoying playing along with the contestants. I’m pretty much of an expert on all categories from the comfort of my couch!! Supper will be sausages on a bun for DH and hotdogs for me.

There really isn't any good way for anyone to cut through. all the yards are fenced. He was checking out something between mine and my neighbors house. He didn't belong there at all.

Hi all, just a quick hello between classes! Doing okay here...the sun is finally shining. I just want to nap in the sun like my fat cat is here! Last night we ended up hitting a craft store for some valentines' retail therapy, then we got the text that our wedding ri gs were ready for pick up. We had sent them out for cleaning. I'm always amazed at how sparkly they look when we get them back. I've had latex paint in mine since summer when we were painting the camper, but no more! We went to our favorite Thai place for dinner, yum! So tonight I think we'll have tacos, or air fryer split chicken breasts, depending on how late my class goes and how hungry Nick is by then. Hoping you are feeling safer, jeremysgirl! Are you subbing in the same school system, leannec? Take care, everyone!

However, there are some that I have no clue about! But the same thing happens with the contestants. Last episode that one passed like 6 times, even Rob Lowe said that was a record. And I think it was his *category*! We were sad to see the older gentleman leave. We sit there and talk about what our *category* would be on the show. Mine would be hits of the 60's and DH's would be something about golf.

my dh is staying in his mom's house and his sister lives over 1 hour away as does his aunt. I turned my bathroom into the drying closet... everything is soaking wet. the visibilty near the top was 50 ft or less.. wet fresh snow on top of icy moguls. I didn't take too many runs, then I sat in the pouring rain for 20 min waiting for the bus back. only my gloves were wet through.. snowing at the top, raining at the bottom.
maybe I'll skip tomorrow.

DSO and I went to the shopping centre to buy his sister's 50th birthday present. While we were there I also got DSO's birthday present for later this month. They have a really nice "town square" with heaps of great restaurants at this chopping centre, so we stayed there for dinner. We got Thai. Deep Fried whole barramundi with tamarind sauce, peppercorns, and crispy Thai basil Massaman Beef Tom Yum Fried Rice with seafood I've never had Tom Yum fried rice before, and it is so good. I will be making it myself again, probably next week when DD comes over for dinner. (And yes, I know the fish head is gross! I just tried not to look at it while I was eating hahaha!)

Hi Everyone, scrapmaven Your day sounds busy. Dinner sounds good. Your chips sound great. cadoodlebug Your meme is so funny. Your dinner sounds great. I hope you get a lot of your taxes done. What station and time is “The Floor” on? ntsf The weather there seems to be yucky. Wow! How passive aggressive of your SIL. I hope your DH can get things wrapped up with his sister. Is she going to let him buy the house? jeremysgirl It’s so good to have you back. I would also be frightened if a guy was in my backyard and in my driveway. Tearisci I hope you enjoy your dinner with your parents. sueg That’s wonderful news about your StepMum. I hope she continues to heal. I hope your DH makes it home without any glitches. bklyngal62 I am sorry that you may have to get the floor in your bathroom fixed. Have a great time crafting and watching movies. leannec for heat. It’s great that your Mum loves to people watch. teddyw I hope whoever ends up at the cooking class with you, loves the food. taylortroop Hope you feel better soon. tmarschall Last night sounds like a great night and glad the sun is shining today. christine58 Hey Girlie, what are you up to? kellyr21 Nice to see you posting. scrappintoee I am glad that you are looking forward to dinner. AussieMeg Your dinner looks delicious. I have missed seeing your pictures. Last night the dog did not get up once to go out. So DH and I slept all night until about 9:45 this morning. I felt so great when I woke up on my own. Today, I had my prayer group. We stayed long because we were catching up with updates. Then I came home and DH made sausages for dinner. They were great. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

poor dh.. his sister sent a group text message to his aunt, a friend and him that she is holding her tongue dealing with my dh.. he confronted her on it and she brushed it off but he is not anxious to deal with her on anything. they do not have a close relationship.. he only has 6 more days at. his mom's. Wait..... so she copied your DH in on a group message where she was bitching about him? Did she do it on purpose, or is she stupid as well as rude? jeremysgirl it's nice to see you back. How very scary, having a strange man loitering around your property. I would have called the police too, at least so they have something on record if anything gets stolen from any of the houses nearby. An update on the fire hydrant episode from last Friday (not that anybody asked hahaha!)..... The next door neighbour's house is #@$%ed, to put it bluntly. So much water got into their house, it has caused significant damage. All of their flooring (carpet and floorboards) will need to be replaced, as well as the ceiling, bottom part of the walls, the outside eaves, and who knows what else. DSO was talking to their insurance assessor the other day, and he says it's the worst water damage he's seen. And we have since found out that they had actually sold the house, the contract had been signed just the day before! We haven't heard whether the sale has now fallen through or not. And in a very big co-incidence, the woman who crashed into the fire hydrant is the mother of a teacher's aid where DSO works! He had told a few people at his work about it, and then the teacher's aid comes up to him to apologise on behalf of her poor old mum. When DSO told her how much damage has been done, she said that she wasn't going to tell her mum that, because she would be devastated. I'm wondering whether she is going to ever drive again?

aussiemeg.. I had barramundi in brisbane and it came out the same with the head and all!! waiter asked me about whether I would be bothered by it.
I think dh's sister is mostly selfish and not thinking things through is common. she really has held herself away from the family over the years. never mind we paid for her schooling as a labtech, and her mom gave her the family ski cabin worth.. $2-250,000 and didn't make an adjustment in the will. she spends a lot of time at the local bar with her significant other.. and is retired and not much else going on. his aunt lives in her own place.. has no kids and is pretty independent, though she is 87.
dh is in charge of the will so that is why he wants to buy her out fast and deal with anything else later. everyday we thank god that our kids get along very well..

It's quarter after 9 and so past my bedtime. I got back from moms and made Jeremy stay on the phone with me while I came into the house. Now we've hung up and I'm stuck here feeling too nervous to go to bed.
I keep trying to tell myself this is just my mental illness creating paranoia but I just can't seem to get past my feelings that something dreadful is going to happen.
