I have always assumed that earning badges accumulated points, and that the badges themselves aren’t able to be cashed in for anything. Is that correct?
For example, I have a badge that is called Master, and underneath it says Download 500 files from the Silhouette store. I assume that I got the badge for downloading 500 files over a period of time, and not that it will let me “cash in” the badge to download 500 designs.
Or are they actually worth what is listed under the badge?
Does anyone know?
If I click on the badge icon, it says, “Goal Achieved!” and appears to be worth 100 points. I can download the badge, although I don’t know what I would do that for, unless I cared about the badges themselves, which I don’t. I assume that it means that I earned 100 points by downloading 500 files. It wouldn’t have been in one night, though, and it’s obvious that I earned the badge.
Thoughts? Clarification? Or do I have it right in thinking it’s for show and has no value by itself, and that the points I earned showed up in my points balance?
Does anyone care about the badges themselves and download them? I downloaded the one badge out of curiosity. It seems to be an SVG file that opens in Microsoft Edge, but it appears to be mostly for show.

Y'all are ahead of me -- I didn't even realize there was a rewards/points program at all until it was mentioned on this board (different thread). I'm sure I must have downloaded > 500 (maybe even 1000) files in all this time...had no idea there was an "achievement" badge.

I don’t care about the badges. I just don’t want to overlook or miss out on getting any freebies, LOL! That link did help to clarify, so thanks, caspad! What I had found as far as badge info wasn’t quite as clear.

You got the badge when you downloaded 500 designs, and then you got a certain number of points added to your account. I think it may have been 100 points?

While I’m not sure about the point value, I had noticedthat points were accumulating whenever I downloaded designs. Silhouette just seemed to be making such a big deal about losing the badges, too, that I started wondering if there was something more that I was missing. Apparently not.

If you look at any upcoming badges you may have, it will show how many points you'd earn once you got the badge. For example, if I were to hit 1,000 downloaded 3D designs, I'd earn an extra 300 points. You get 1 point for each day you log in, and 1 point for every design you purchase/download - even free ones. The only exception is for bundles, where you get 1 point per bundle, not per design in the bundle.
