If it's something I really like, then I'll keep it. If it comes back in style all the better. My youngest DD (24yo) wore one of my "vintage" sweatshirts to a college football game. I have 3 from the early 90s that I've kept just because I love them and now apparently they're back "in style" and she thought it was cool to wear one to the game. I thought it was funny. I did tell both of my DDs to keep their favorite clothes or jewelry if they love it, because it will come back around and then they'll have the cool vintage version of it. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/laugh.jpg.gif) There are a few things from the 80s that I wish I still had.

I hold onto classics - I’ve just recently been going through old clothes and starting to wear some older cashmere sweaters and wool coats again.
But no, trendy items I don’t keep. Seems trends never really come back the same way, plus items get stained etc and fabrics just seem to keep improving.

Not intentionally. I have some flared yoga pants that I just never got rid of and apparently they are back in style. But usually I am pretty good about purging my clothing once a year. As for jewelry, I am not much of a jewelry person. I usually just wear my wedding ring, small earrings, and my watch. So, I’ve purged a lot of my costume jewelry. What? Flared yoga pants out of style? I didn't get the memo. LOL I have a bunch of nicer costume jewelry from years ago.. I should think about listing them to see if they would sell. Ummm.. I hardly wear jewelry anymore.

No.
That said, I really try not to buy "fast fashion." Especially with jewelry.

I've never been a trend follower. I've never been one to jump on a bandwagon. If I like something I purchase it, wear it, use it, etc.... If I purchase something, I keep it indefinitely or until it wears out or I longer want it. If I no longer want to keep something, then it gets tossed, donated or given away. If I purchase something and it happens to be something that society in general deemed "the current in thing".......my purchase was NOT made because other people were buying it. My purchase was made because *I* liked it. If someone wants to judge me, because *they* think I or my home isn't up to date or in style..... that's their problem, not mine. I don't worry about what other people think of me and how I live my life. I humbly do what makes me happy. I buy what I like as well. There are a lot of trends that I don't buy because they don't work for me or I don't care for them. I would say that most of what I buy will be worn for quite a while. That being said, style changes and I do care if I look current or not. As for the jewelry, several years ago I sold Lia Sophia and some friends were really into a different MLM jewelry company after that (can't remember the name) so I had a ton from those days. Now I buy a few/receive simple pieces a year, usually a Kendra Scott necklace or earrings as a Christmas gift and maybe some other inexpensive simple/timeless jewelry from Target or something. That is primarily what I wear now.

No, not really. I have maybe three necklaces that are not on-trend (circa 2005-2012ish), but I keep them to use for a pop of color. Two are pretty simple mid-size bead necklaces. One of them is Anthropologie and I still love the colors. The other is a red one and I might use it once a year to go red, white and blue (so still use it as actual "costume" jewelry). I am a 51-year-old teacher who dresses decently but no student/coworker/general public is going to be surprised that I wear some "mildly" dated things occasionally. LOL
I stick more with bracelets and I don't feel they trend as quickly if they are simple designs.

no because trends always come as some updated variation of the old.

My bubble necklaces went into the trash years ago. I *might* hold onto cocktail jewelry, but for the most part, I keep my costume jewelry on regular rotation
