I've been living in leggings all winter. I've gained a few extra lbs and really need to get some new blue jeans. My old jeans are slim/skinny jeans, but I'd like to move away from that style.
I really don't even know where I need to start. Looking on line, the models are all short/petite but tiny. I'm 5'1" and a size 10. And old. Ha. What looks good on you young, thin, size 4 gals most assuredly will not look good on me!
What style do you think would look best on short plus size? Brand recommendations would be helpful, too. I know I'll need to go in store to try on for best fit, but having a starting point would be helpful.
TIA

So I’m a little taller than you, but also a bit bigger. I feel best in slim boyfriend jeans (straight leg but not too wide) and a slim bootcut. I also still wear skinny jeans with a longer top. My favorite jeans brands are Democracy and J. Crew.

I just want to say, size 10 is not what I would consider plus size. 🤷🏻♀️ My favorite jeans of all time (and which sadly no longer fit) were boot cut.

Check out these Talbots Petite jeans - Barely Boot Jean and High Waist Relaxed Jean. The relaxed jean is my new favorite, very comfortable. If you carry weight in your hips/thighs, then check out their Curvy fit jeans. Also, a Size 10 petite is not considered plus size. At Talbot's the Plus Sizes don't even begin until 14.

I agree with above re boot cut, which balances the bottom with the top of the leg. And get a dark wash - so much more slimming than the lighter colors. I like a medium high waist, which helps avoid the dreaded muffin top, and don't get the jeans too tight, even if you have to cut that darned tag with the bigger size than you want to see out of the jeans!

A size 10 is nowhere near plus side. I like NYDJ Straight jeans.
