A few months ago I asked for recommendations for a gift for my nephew in hygiene products and got tons of great ideas. I have those, his birthday is in a couple of weeks and I just found out he is all about hair right now. What products are teen boys loving? Also, what about competing scents? I got Native shampoo and body wash in a citrus musk scent, decided against the deodorant because it’s natural I’m assuming it’s not the best time to test those products out. But all the hair products I’m looking at seem to be scented. He’s got fairly thick hair with some body. When I saw him at Christmas it was shorter on the sides and back, longer on top and hanging in his eyes. The cut is sort of textured and choppy on top. I was thinking a comb and texturizing spray? What say the teenage boys in your homes? I didn’t get the conditioner since he keeps it so short so I could spend the money on something else. Native Daily Shampoo (Citrus & Herbal Musk) Native Body Wash (Same) Cetaphil Daily Wash (wanted parents to be able to repurchase) Tower SOS Spray The Ordinary Niacinamide (help control oil) The Ordinary Hyraluronic Acid (cheap moisturizer) DOB Kit bag eta: And what hygiene advice would they/you give? Without embarrassing him Going to mention sunblock, but he won’t wear it his family doesn’t. But also, not to strip his skin thinking it’ll help it be cleaner and avoid acne.

My 17 yr old son likes The Not Your Mother's Beach Babe sea salt spray. He tried some of the Old Spice Brand paste/putty and didn't like it as much.

I keep seeing an ad on Instagram and Facebook for Tribal Chimp which is supposed to give hair texture. You could take a look and see if that is the type of look he is going for. A few friends "liked" the product or made positive comments on their post. My boys don't have that type of hair so I haven't used it personally.

I don’t think that’s the kind of look he’s going for (more body) but my husband could use it so I ordered some, thank you!

My sons are older (early 20's) and they really like the Duke Cannon Hair stuff for men. They have a pomade, shampoos, etc. My boys really like their shampoo pucks but I can't get them locally and have to order online. My boys throw the pucks in their gym bag for when they are working out and shower at the gym. Nothing to spill, etc. I've seen Duke Cannon at Target, HEB, and Lowes.

I remembered the brand from the previous thread but I only found the pomades and something else that didn’t seem like the right type of product for his style. I tried reading the descriptions, it seemed they were more for hold for a style, is that right? And he’s got that sort of devil-may-care floppy thing going on so I didn’t think that would work. But again, I know nothing about men’s hair products because my husband doesn’t have much, it’s thin and super short; and he’s never used product. Until now He might like bar shampoos though, will check them out!
