My daughter is getting married in September and we are trying to figure out a wedding favor that people will like and not just leave behind. I haven’t been to a wedding in forever so I have no clue what people do anymore! Any suggestions??

My DD is getting married next year and has been considering favours too. One idea she's seen is the give everyone a disposable camera. Also eco friendly ideas are popular I think - little packets of seeds for everyone to go and scatter. We've seen alcoholic lolly pops, little votive candles and recently we were given a champagne glass with the date and the couples initials on.

I’m thinking something food related like a small box of chocolates.
One of my friends gave out scratch off lottery tickets - someone at my table won $50.

Something small amd consumable. A little bag with some nice chocolates or something like that would be good.

A treat to eat. If not that, skip it all together.

The only favor I’ve liked is chocolates.
For my daughter’s beach wedding, we gave small boxes with shell-shaped chocolates and candy sand. It was a big hit.

One of the DGDs got married in October. Their wedding favours were small, 50 ml bottles of pure maple syrup, personalized with their names on the label. I'm pretty sure no one left theirs behind!

We had beach themed cookies made as favors since we got married in a coastal town.

My dd is getting married October 2025 and we are not doing favors per se. People don't want crap in their house (I know I wouldn't want any of it). We are doing a candy bar (not a physical candy bar like Hersheys) It is table that has tons of candy in pretty jars in the colors of the wedding. People can come and take what they want or not take anything. Their choice.

eh, I wouldn't care if there were favors or not. No one really wants stuff with someone else's name and wedding date on it in their house. I'm over all that kind of stuff. Sometimes chocolates or similar are good, but really can do without. I couldn't even tell you what favors I have left with in the past few weddings. I would use that money for something else. That is just my opinion. I love to go to a wedding, have fun and enjoy myself and leave.

I haven’t been to a wedding in forever so I have no clue what people do anymore! Any suggestions?? I think the trend now is no wedding favors. I’ve been to quite a few weddings over the past several years (including my daughter’s wedding last May) and haven’t received any party favors. If your daughter really wants to give her guests a wedding favor, she should. However, I don’t think she should feel any pressure to do so.

I agree that wedding favors are not in favor anymore. I don't remember the last wedding I attended that I received one (and we get invited to several per year).

Just save your money and skip the favors. My nephew was married last weekend and they did not do any sort of favor. My niece didn't last year, either.

Most of the favor “things” we’ve encountered are things we don’t really want or need. I’d especially not want something with someone else’s names or wedding date on it. I would take home a little treat such as chocolates, candy, a cookie, etc. Sometimes people have small plants or floral centerpieces so the people who want them can take them home vs. giving everyone something they may or may not want.

I hope you're enjoying helping to plan the wedding. It can be such a fun or fraught experience. I prefer not to receive a favor at a wedding and consider them an unnecessary expense. I have seen two that I really like though. In one case the centerpieces were made up of 8 or 9 small potted succulents at tables for 8. Really pretty when arranged in tiers, and one for each person to take home. The other was a couple who had pretty bookmarks on which they shared their favorite reads of the past year as well as cards for people to fill out for them with 1) book recommendations and 2) a piece of advice for a happy marriage.

I think it depends on the theme, but my best friend's was more country/rustic and we gave out tiny jars of jalapeno jelly. They were a huge hit.

My younger DD is getting married this October. Rather than favors she's looking into hiring an artist/illustrator to do drawings (not caricatures) of each guest/couple/group, etc. She likes the idea of the guests being able to watch their drawings made and then having them as a custom keepsake to take home.

My cousin did a Photo Booth. Another did the candy bar…that was a huge hit. Others did not do favors

DD got married not quite 2 years ago. They did not do favors but it was an evening into night reception so they had donuts and breakfast sandwiches for people to take and eat when they got home or back to their hotel rooms.

I did bells with notes to ring them during our first kiss and recession, so they were part of the wedding and a favor. My MOH/DD had a large bell and the responsibility for starting the bells.

Some are doing photo booths these days. That could be the favor. My nephew had one a few years ago and I was amazed at the cost. I thought it would have been a huge cost, but it seemed affordable.

I've seen where people arrange for Krispy Kreme trucks to arrive at the end of the reception. One friend went to a wedding where they received the NY Times, bagels and cream cheese on their way out.

gar, the best wedding photos are the ones your dd's guests will take. We had disposable cameras on each table and a basket at the exit. Then we took the cameras to get the film developed. It was so much fun to see the wedding from the guest's perspective. Nowadays, I'm assuming people just use their phones, but that's something to consider. My sil made pretty origami boxes for a baby shower. You could do that for the wedding in the wedding colors. That's something you would display in your home. You could put wrapped truffles in the box.

As a wedding guest, I love the photo booth idea! We did it for my DDs wedding and I've been to 2 other weddings with one, and those pictures are still up at home and work (family members and friends in the pic with me).
Other than that, I would suggest no favor other than some type of food/goody to eat.

I saw a wedding where a QR code was created and put at each table asking the guests to scan and add any pictures taken to the website the QR code took them to. We'll definitely do this for my DDs wedding next year!

In Toronto, of all places. <3

Disclaimer: I'm old and this was not my first wedding. We had 30ish guests and instead of favors, we splurged on really really good food served family-style by a well-known local restaurant. Everyone said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding, and no one missed not having a favor to bring home and throw away.

The daughter of a good friend of ours got married. She and her husband's first date was at a taco place. So they started having Taco Tuesdays together. At their wedding they gave out small spice sized glass jars of taco seasoning. I agree with something edible. Oh, and we also got a tiny bottle of Vodka because the groom's last name was the same as the distiller.

The ones I have been to in recent years have had foam drink holders with their name and date on it. I like when there are chocolates on the tables but other than that don’t really care if there are favors. I like the idea of a candy bar. My cousins daughter had something similar with other snacks and it was a hit.
