I am working on a last minute scrapbook for a grandchild that will graduate in May. I have a few older scrapbook collections in my stash that are school themed that I purchased to do books for me and my daughters (that haven't all been completed) but decided to look at current collections since I am not finding the older collections (Basic Grey, Studio Calico, Cosmo Cricket, Scenic Route, WRMK) easy to use. Current collections at scrapbook-dot-com include one by Bella Blvd, Carta Bella, Mintay, and Paper Rose and multiple collections by Photoplay, Reminisce, and Echo Park. One thing I noticed that with only a couple of exceptions, most of the collections use primary colors.
So my question is for those who have recently worked on School Days scrapbooks -- did you use school-themed collections, and if so, which ones did you like or find easy to use? If not, what did you use instead of school-themed paper and embellishments (e.g. papers that matched the theme of the photos, such as music, sports, or graduation, or papers that coordinated with the colors of the photos) ?

Freckled Fawn has a couple of school themed items left from previous releases. I think the month is September. I just bought it and the paper is SEP but the coordinating washi was not.
Simple Stories (I think) has a graduation line for pre-order at A cherry on top that is nice.

I’d try to find things specific to the person you’re making the book for. If they did certain clubs/hobbies, interests and mix in the school theme. I’ve found the PhotoPlay things to be geared towards the older years and then echo park towards the younger ages. I used the echo park for my DS’s kindergarten book and wouldn’t use it for my high schoolers. My own kids books will have a two page spread of first day of school pictures and I’ll use the school papers for that. But other memories like homeschooling, projects and such will be on other papers.

scrapbook customs Has some grade by grade collections with white background and with black. If you search their site they have several different school colour combo's, as well as different activity themes like band. Simply Stated Designs has an awesome school themed collections in golds and reds and brown. Scrap Your Trip has quite a variety of school related pages and diecuts in lots of different colours. Scrapbook Generation carries a number of school themed collections and sticker sets. I was thinking they also have some exclusive paper collections that may fit a particular school colour scheme. I only do high school albums which tend to be heavy on senior year/graduation - but I tend to use school colours a lot rather than school collections - I'll use school collection embellishments when they fit and I'll mix in graduation paper towards the end but I don't use a cohesive collection for the whole album.

This is my approach. I have a HS senior right now and did a first day of school album for every year of school and am doing a senior year album. I also just made a soccer album from his years playing. In all of those, I have used the school colors throughout and then bought a digital collection to have a cohesive design for putting the grade or year, like sophomore. Several people like Ali Edwards and Paislee Press have or used to have digital files you could buy with school theme and I like how those created cohesion + school colors. Most of the graduation collections are black/white/grey/ silver or gold and so they will go nicely with school colors. My kids school is red and black so I have used red/black/gold/silver/grey/white and then pulled in grad collections. I think you could also use/sprinkle in primary colors collections with school colors in most cases and it would still look good but give it more cohesion. I will say this is one of my requests and wishes that Heidi Swapp/Ali E/other big companies would do stamps for high school/graduation and more school themed products. I would love to see more examples of complete school/graduation albums for inspiration. I have tried to find examples on Pinterest or Instagram but not been super successful.

btw Scrapbook Generation has a line of graduation papers/cut apart in various school colours - they do have the year on some but I found enough that didn't to go back and scrap DS's college graduation (green and yellow) and am using the purple and yellow for school layouts for DD (she's a junior). Pretty sure they were clearancing out the 2023 version so 2024 should be coming in soon-ish

I did a school days album for my son & used this paper from Scrapbook Customs. I bought 2 packs of it so I could use both sides as a 2-page spread. I basically had his school picture on the left and then first day of school or other pics on the right. I had 2 more pages with various pics and mixed in Photoplay papers and Echo Park papers & embellishments. I also used the Paper Wizard grade titles for each grade. Graduation got its own album.

I agree that examples of school albums are hard to find, even just finding layouts for inspiration has been a challenge. For my daughters, I did a whole album for Kindergarten for my younger daughter, as well as a special events album (like Proms), but haven't started her 1st - 12th grade album, which I believe will not require but one album, I just don't have that many photos. For my older daughter, I did a K - 9th grade and a High School book (10th - 12th). For her albums, I actually did not use a lot of themey papers and embellishments, they just didn't work with the photos and stories except for those official school pictures that I purchased every year. For my Grandson, I may not need a lot of school-themed supplies except for the first day of school photos. I've done a few of those using the older supplies I have, but I have quite a few more to go. That's why I started browsing for newer school-themed supplies.
