Looking to have something on hand to pull out if we have unexpected guests. Is there something you keep on hand for that type of situation. Obviously frozen works for this, but if you have other go to’s i’d love to hear about them

Not frozen - but I usually have hummus and pita chips on hand.
For frozen - Trader Joe’s has lots of good options - I like their “ Caramelized Onion Feta Pastry Bites”

I am now craving them.I also like their samosas. We are boring and usually have mini quiches in our freezer.

We have some of the Farm Rich appetizers and some of the Budweiser branded appetizers- these are good, but the beer flavor tends to overpower any other flavors. We also usually have a bag of frozen meatballs and BBQ sauce (currently, I also have grape jelly and chili sauce as well).

I like to have cream cheese, pepper jelly, and crackers available. Easy and quick, doesn't expire for a while.

We are not fancy people and stuff like hummus or feta doesn't appeal to me. And anyone visiting will know that. LOL If I went to someone's house and they offered hummus or the like, I would just politely say no thanks or not hungry.. I would never say ewwwwww. hahaha.. My eating issues have nothing to do with anyone.

We got some frozen jalapeño poppers for the game yesterday. Perfect after ten minutes in the air fryer. Would definitely keep those around.

I keep those frozen phyllo cups that are about bite size on hand. They thaw almost instantly. I’ve filled them with an olive and nut mixture topped with a little cheese then heated until the cheese melts. Delicious. They are also good with a dollop of my homemade pear preserves topped with blue cheese and then heated. Or Nutella topped with nuts if you want to go sweet. I find I can come up with something I have on hand to use those and it instantly looks fancy.

I usually have several loaves of the brown bread from the outback steakhouse in my freezer. I could quickly defrost a couple and put it on a serving plate with some butter and knives. The only beverages I have to offer are water, hot tea, cranberry juice and milk. I am not a fan of surprise dropped-by announced company. When I am home, I am usually in my house pajamas (I don't wear pajamas to bed) and most definitely bra-less.

This is a very Aussie thing, but we always have party pies and sausage rolls in the freezer. And now that we often have people dropping in for drinks most Friday nights, I also have things like frozen pizza and chicken strips. Nothing fancy here for DSO's drinking buddies!! We also usually have dumplings in the freezer, which I would save for fancier guests.

We are not social and don’t have people drop by on a whim. So, we don’t keep anything like this on hand, though a lot of it sounds good. Especially those tartes! And if they did their drinking options would be water, and cooking wine But occasionally Mom stays unexpectedly for dinner and we sometimes have to scramble. She doesn’t care for the way we cook, even the veggies. We tend to roast them, add nuts, cheese, occasionally fresh herbs. She prefers canned veggies and the like. We do almost always have frozen spaghetti (her recipe) but she’s not always in the mood. My eating issues have nothing to do with anyone. I wouldn’t call not liking “fancy” food like hummus and feta an eating issue at all! It’s a valid preference. Just, make sure you call first if you’re dropping by
