More of Haley's statement in the NBC article:
Hmmm... maybe it's just me, but I feel like there's an unspoken "unless we don't agree with your choice" at the end of that sentence...

That's a big nope for me. Voting for any republican right now is not in my cards. They lie so much about big things it makes me sick. The Roe ruling did it for me. All the repubs on the supreme court lying in their testimonies saying it was settled law then pulling the rug out from every females feet stinks to high heaven. Who knows what's next? Will it be same sex marriage or interracial marriage?

She's too far right for me in many stances. She flip flops way too much. Better than Trump? Yes.
ETA: Any Republican right now is trying to appease Trump's base in some areas. Haley will blast Trump, but she wants his voters.

it would not kill me as much as a Trump or De Santis presidency would. she's not getting my vote but i wouldn't be completely ill if she won.

I wouldn’t vote for her in the national election but I think she is less scary than trump if elected. While I don’t agree with her politics I don’t think she wants to be a dictator or would try and overthrow an election. I haven’t changed my party affiliation so I will vote for her in the primary because no way in heck I’m voting for former.
I don’t want her to win as she is for a national ban on abortion and because she would pardon TFG I assume she will vote for him if he is the Republican candidate
It seems every day some new piece of information comes out that you just can’t believe is happening and that people just keep blindly following him.

I voted for her in the Republican primary, because of the 3 (Trump, DeSantis & Haley), she was the least objectionable.
I would not vote for her in a general election. And I would be deeply worried if she became president. She was mostly silent about Jan 6. She criticized Trump initially but then walked back those statements. She's already promised to pardon Trump.
I worry a little about her intentions with an abortion ban because she's been fairly quiet and a little vague, knowing that abortion is hurting Republicans. She did say she would support a 6 week ban if she was governor or an abortion ban of any length is she was elected president That alone is a deal breaker.
She suggested the military should be training to protect our country, not taking gender pronoun classes. She said recruitment is down because we're focusing on the wrong things like gender pronoun classes. She also suggested transgender kids are causing suicidal ideation in teenage girls.
However, despite my personal feelings about her as a candidate, I'm happy for her to stay in the race as long as possible. She's drawing money, attention and maybe even voters away from Trump. By providing a comparison, she helps to put a spotlight on Trump's lunacy and increasingly unhinged speeches. As long as she's in the race, she's an obstacle for Trump, he has to contend with both her and President Trump as well as all of his legal battles. Enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that.

I think she is better than Trump in terms of not being a total buffoon and she appears to be mentally stable. However, I don't agree with any of her policy stances and think she would be a disaster for this country in many ways. I think it is smart of her to stay in the race. I would not be surprised if Trump has to drop out for some reason, and that will hand her the nomination. It also takes away from Trump when a fellow Republican is talking out against him.

She would be preferable to Trump. At least she wouldn’t threaten NATO. She wouldn’t be good on reproductive rights. Probably not good on climate. She IS sane, at least.
But I won’t vote for any Republican because they have to answer to a far right base.

Remember, it's not whether or not you'd vote for her... in this question she's already been elected. 👍

How would I feel if Haley were elected? The same way I've felt about every other Republican president I've been around for: disappointment.

Relieved she's not the giant Cheeto, surprised a woman was finally elected, maybe not as sick to my stomach every time I look at the news every morning as I was the last time a Republican was president...

While I don't agree with her stances on almost anything I would feel relieved to have someone that is sane in office. I wouldn't feel like our country was in a huge amount of peril and wind up wondering if the country I know would still be around in 4 years. And I would be utterly delighted to watch Trump become completely unhinged at not only losing, but losing to a *gasp* woman!

Today she said that embryos to me are babies. So I hope this gets a lot of press as this affects a lot of women. If almost 100k babies are born due to ivf then even more women are trying and doing this a year. The 100k won’t win or lose an election overall but most people know someone that has fertility issues probably several people and probably someone that has tried or contemplated ivf.

I would be waiting for the cries of “Rigged!”

Thankfully, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of Haley being elected president.
I would be very concerned if it did happen. It would be another foot hold for the over the top right wingers to force their beliefs down our throats. I’m really tired of being told we must believe what they believe or else. I don’t give a damn about what anyone believes, just so they don’t tell me I have to believe it too.

Basically, I agree with only about 1% of her political views, but at least she has basic intelligence, can string a few words together and talk coherently, won't hand nuclear codes to Putin, etc. No, I will not vote for her nor do I hope she wins, but she is less horrifying than Trump.

If she was elected, I'd tell everyone to buckle up buttercup because regardless of WHO would be the Republican president, Project 2025 is tee'd up to bring full fledged christo-fascism in.
I'd be going to prepare a place for my children and grandchildren to live without fascism. Then I'd come back and fight the Republican mofo regime.

I think she'll cause far less damage, both nationally and internationally. Still don't like her politics and that she raised her hand during a debate when asked if she'd vote for Trump if he is the candidate.

Honestly, I’m at the point where women like this who are willing to betray other women for their own political gain are just dead to me. Sit down, Serena Joy. We don’t need your kind here.
