I'm seeing a lot of boat neck tees in stores this spring, and as they cycle in and out of popularity this has been an ongoing question for me: what kind of bra do you wear with one?
It seems, IDK, overkill to wear a strapless bra with a t-shirt. But otherwise, your straps show. Do you kind of shove them to the edge of your shoulder and hope for the best? Wear the strapless?
Some other solution I haven't thought of?

For one, I don’t wear boat necks too often. When I do, I just push the straps to the sides so they are under the shoulders of the shirt. Most of my bras have thin straps, so it is not too hard for me to hide them.

The last time I wore a boatneck shirt, and it was ages ago because I have hormonal moonface, it had a small fabric strip on the inside of the shoulders that you could snap your bra strap into that kept it hidden under the shirt. This would not work now because my bra straps caused an indent in my shoulders and they would just return to their original position, taking the shirt with it.

I don’t like how a boatneck rubs up against my neck so I don’t own any. I never even thought about bra straps showing.

Not the best look making shoulders look wider for me.
No thin straps on bras for me, too much support needed.

Look for a shirt with a less exaggerated boat/bateau neck. They are out there, but you have to dig. The one I like is this one from Talbots. Never have had a problem with my bra straps showing.

This is me too. Most boatneck tees are too high at the front of the neck so they're really uncomfortable to me and I avoid them. Also I have very narrow shoulders so pushing the bra straps to the side on a traditional boatneck doesn't work for me - the bra straps just fall down. ETA: I like the one you linked, **GypsyGirl**!

I love a boat neck top! So glad they are coming back. Anything but a crew neck is great!
I don't have an issue with regular bra straps showing. Mine are all skinny straps.

I would use fashion tape to tape the shirt to the bra strap.

But I want the jaunty navy stripes so I look French. Haha. You can order an authentic French Navy navy/white stripe shirt from the Marine Nationale website. Cost is €32 and it is 100% cotton. Sailor Top The other authentic option is to order from Saint James. They are based in Normandy and the shirts are made in France, however they now have a US website. Several design and color options are available, as well as a wide range of sizes. Galathee II may be what you are looking for. This is also 100% cotton and is $119. Neither of these shirts have an exaggerated neckline and should hide bra straps. Now I need to get back to the website and order myself a shirt! I never could fit into these when I lived in France and I've always wanted one!

I love boatneck shirts and sweaters. Some do show bra straps but I just move the straps away but eh if they sometime show.

If you got for a traditional navy/white stripe, you could wear a red bra with it, and make a feature of the straps showing! 😁

I'm not a good one to answer this but..
I simply do not care if someone sees my bra straps. Not one tiny bit.

That's why I don't like them; I don't like my straps to show, even if it's just a little.

That’s the reason I don’t own boatneck tees or sweaters.

I think a boatneck shirt is flattering neckline. I push my straps to the side

I love boat necks - I wear regular bra but the neck is never so wide that they show.

If I thought my bra would show (and yes I definitely care about that) I would wear a bra with pretty lacy straps - or I like when they have two spaghetti straps - I think that looks sexy.

I got an order today from Spanx with their striped boatneck top and it was cut perfectly. Definitely still a boatneck but not a peek of strap!

Women's v-neck tees usually hang off one or both of my shoulders. I've never been able to wear boat neck tees. I'm a definite pear shape.
I am so clueless when it comes to bras because I was raised anything sleeveless or off the shoulders was immodest. I am truly baffled how that all works. Especially when it's something like a backless dress.
