Years ago I bought the Quickutz alphabet Spotlight. Archivers used to sell the sets (40-70 pieces) for $139.99. Once in a rare while they'd go on sale for $99. I was at a going out of business sale at a crop and found the entire alphabet for less than $20. Didn't realize that they used the letter A in the window of the packaging and tossed the packaging. Didn't realize until after the trash was picked up what I had done. No way was I going to find that alphabet for such a cheap price again. It killed me not to have the whole set because I am just too left brained, I suppose. Not that my titles always have A's in them, but still! Today at our second hand craft store there were a lot of new (used) things. So many CTMH stamps sets, lots of Sizzix dies, and low and behold the Spotlight die set. It was $4 for 40 dies. Snatched that up as well as the Cosmopolitan set. There were also two of the magnetic books for storage.
I have casually searched for years to find this set. Haven't seen it for less than $60 plus shipping.
Today was a good second hand craft day. I also bought 10 Sizzix Christmas dies for $4 each.
I usually walk out of the store empty handed. Today I made up for that.

That's amazing! And I totally would've done the same thing about throwing out the packaging - yikes! But how exciting to finally find it!!!

That’s great! You have way more patients than I di. I probably would have tossed the set by now.

950nancy I am so jealous of your 2nd hand craft store. Even if I only found things once in a while. What a fantastic surprise for you at an even cheaper price!

Every time I go, I think the Peas would love this place. Most of it is pretty old, but some things age well. I see lots of old brands like SEI, Basic Grey and October Afternoon. It's just bits and pieces of it, but it is still fun to see. Lots of CM. They had 4 albums still wrapped in plastic when I was there for $6 each. I used to love to hit TM, so this place helps even if I just go to look.

Okay 950nancy - if you ever see Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy paper at that store please buy it for me and I will pay for shipping and your time! I am looking for everything but the cutapart papers. Seriously though what a great store to have near you! I'm so glad you were able to find the missing A.

Seriously though what a great store to have near you! I'm so glad you were able to find the missing A. Will do! I also keep an eye out for a couple of other things Peas have been looking for. Makes things more fun. If any of you are ever in Colorado Springs and have some time to stop by, you should. They also have bags full of like items at the beginning of the month for $6-$10. I was looking for some embroidery floss last year and bought a bag of almost 300 flosses for $10. It also had some large spools of floss thread for embroidery machines. One of them was worth the price of the bag. I gave it to a friend who embroiders.

Today at our second hand craft store there were a lot of new (used) things. you had me at the fact that 1) you have a brick and mortar craft store and 2) they sell used stuff at such great prices. my scrapbook holy grail is having those two things.

I went back today to see if they had any new dies. Found two brand new Quikutz sets I didn't have, BUT the price was $55 and $65. Nope. The person who prices them must have realized they weren't cheap, but I don't think anyone will buy them for that price. Things that sit there for more than two months go on sale for 50% and then 75% off. So glad I found the for $4 each.
