The 2nd grade classroom that I work with is really fascinated by this pair of bald eagles. They're counting down the days to when the eggs might hatch. Jackie's resilience during a record breaking snowstorm is amazing. Lots of great pictures. In the middle of a snowstorm that slammed Southern California’s San Bernardino Mountains this week, a small white head poked up from a nest buried in fresh powder. Jackie, a 12-year-old bald eagle that recently laid three eggs in the nest, suddenly rose and shook off several inches of snow before dutifully returning to her nesting duties near the top of a 155-foot pine tree.www.friendsofbigbearvalley.org/eagles/

Yes, I have been watching too. It is amazing how resilient bald eagles are. This should be an exciting week. I also follow the Big Bear Eagle Group Facebook page.

I don’t actively watch, but because it is somewhat local, it pops up a lot on the news and my social media. You should see the one where a squirrel used the mom’s back as a stepping stone to get to the other side. The mom put her head up and looked around like “WTH!” So cute! Yes it sucked me right in, I check on them every couple of hours. Can’t wait for those eggs to hatch. Hoping Jackie and Shadow have 3 healthy chicks.

When I was teaching we would follow the Minnesota DNR Eagle Webcam every year. Last year the nest fell.

They are local to me so I have been watching for years. 3 eggs this year. After last year's non hatch, we are rooting for a healthy chick.
