My rant for the day:
Only proper nouns are capitalized!! Random words in a sentence are not capitalized!
This is from a local police report: " we will be seeking Criminal Charges for his involvement ".

I have posted this one before:
People who think single people or stay at home parents or stay at home spouses-significant others...... have all sorts of free time to help with whatever (a last minute ride, stay at someone's house from 1-4 waiting for repair person or while the painters are there, or are available last minute (asked an hour before) to meet for lunch or dinner, etc....
I'm single, that means.....I am the one doing all the chores, all the errands, paying the bills, getting groceries and household goods, etc... If I have a spare hour or two or ten, I want to spend it doing something I want to do.......not taking care of SOMEONE ELSE'S responsibilities and obligations. If I am off work for the day or once I am home for the day and in my pajamas and have switched to homebody mode....I am not going out again unless there's an emergency situation. No thank you to >> want to meet for dinner in an hour?

DH, who has been unemployed several times throughout our marriage, decided to pick a fight over the fact that we need to hold onto our tax return to cover bills unless I start working in the next month. Keep in mind I've had a steady job, sometimes more than one, throughout our 24+ years together.
It took him a few minutes of getting pissy with me before he clued in that this may not be the hill he wants to die on.

No thank you to >> want to meet for dinner in an hour? The same goes for work from home people. My cake studio is in my house, and during wedding season I'm in it all day every day, minus errand running day and my weekly networking meeting. I cannot just drop everything whenever and help you out. (yes I'm looking at you mother) If I have notice I can tweak my week and work around things, but I'm not just playing around at home - I'm WORKING. And here's my rant: My website CLEARLY states in several place that a) I'm weddings only and b) I have an order minimum. And that order minimum is listed right above the contact form you fill out to inquire about wedding cake. STOP inquiring for "we just want a small single tier for us to cut ourselves, we aren't serving cake to our guests" ACK

When leaving a message please speak slowly and clearly. Especially when there is a foreign name... I have so many students/parents with very foreign names and today same guy left a message twice and neither time could I even get close in the spelling of the name and only half a phone number. Sometimes I can piece it together.. but honestly. SLOW down.
rant over.

Read the damn sign! Read the website.!
Sign is large and posted on door to the building. "Income Tax workers will arrive at 2 PM"
I had to send several people away who wanted their taxes done. Message is on the website as well.

- Know how to do your job, if you can’t do your job just admit it and move on because other people (children) are affected by your ineptitude. - if someone sends you an email asking 3 questions, it would be great if you could actually respond. It would be even better if you could answer all 3 questions and not 1. - if someone has to rely on you to send an email because you are a control freak but that someone needs to know the replies to book travel, maybe you should forward the responses. If you don’t it will cost more $$$. - if someone is trying to show you how to raise funds for something maybe, just maybe you should show up to the event and learn something. - and finally, at least for this weeks drama llama, you aren’t slick, you are a schmuck. Everyone knows you are inept so we collect our bits of info like puzzle pieces and share with other people who have other puzzle pieces. All the pieces get put in the right place so the above kids are not affected and things run smoothly. But everyone knows you have nothing to do with it, even if you think you can take all the credit.

I do payroll. Please don’t hire people on the last day of the pay period and send me the paperwork the day I have to process payroll. When you do hire someone earlier in the pay period, don’t wait until the last day to send it in either! Managers will send rate changes at the very last minute and want it to go on this weeks check. I want to tell them too bad, it’s too late. But that just hurts the employee and makes them have to wait two more weeks. And it makes more work for me because then I have to calculate retro pay!
