The crime committed by illegal immigrants is getting so bad that Mayor Eric Adams said:
"We should not be allowing people who are repeatedly committing crimes to remain here and we cannot collaborate with ICE in the process.
Those who are committing crimes, WE NEED TO MODIFY THE SANCTUARY CITY LAW. If you commit a felony, a violent act, we should be able to turn you over to ICE and have you deported."

The suspect was then arrested in Queens on 9/14/23 for injury to a child and having no license. The suspect and his brother were cited in Athens-Clarke County on 10/27/23 for shoplifting. The suspect had an outstanding bench warrant in Athens-Clarke County as of 12/20/23 for failing to appear in court on the shoplifting charges. The suspect's brother was charged yesterday by federal authorities for possessing a fraudulent green card. The suspect's brother was arrested in Athens-Clarke County on 9/25/23 for DUI, driving without a license, speeding, open container, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was arrested again in December. Who contributed the the tragedy: FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: The federal government's open border policies - and active efforts to prevent states from securing the border - have resulted upwards of 7 million illegal immigrants flowing into the country over the last three years, including the suspect in this case, who was detained and released by federal authorities. And here is a link to an article that quotes a member of that Texas Border Convoy saying wow it is not as bad as they said it was. And I have read and listen to a lot of these type of comments in various articles and interviews. 🤷🏻♀️ As I have also said from the beginning, people are acting like this is something new and something that can be easily fixed. Listen to music, watch old TV shows (MacGyver has some good ones as does Criminal Minds. 😉), watch movies, read books, read old articles…people have been talking and dealing with these issues for decades. Nothing has changed, including our basic border policies and our ability to figure out what to do. What has changed is the number people trying to survive and save their families. I am not disagreeing something needs to be done. I am not disagreeing that there are more people trying to cross the borders. I am Disagreeing with the LIES and rhetoric that the border is open.

Truthfully IMO, what is a little annoying is that almost everyone agrees that there will always be criminals and bad people trying to get into the US. And as many on the right say about gun laws, I say about this, new laws are not going to affect or deter the criminal and those people will always find away to cross. But new laws and processes do need to be dealt with, just don’t try and scare people and lie that doing so will change anything about keeping criminals out.
That also leads us to the actual % of these criminals as compared to overall number of good people, an extremely small percent. So again as many on the right used as their talking point with Covid deaths…%s do matter. With it being such a small % of people who are bad and may commit crimes and that we will NEVER be able to stop 100% of the people illegally entering, why is it being used as the main point on a very complicated issue (especially when it probably won’t even fix that part of the problem).

(NBC News noted that “there is no evidence of a migrant-driven crime wave in the United States” and that, in fact, their review of crime data ”shows overall crime levels dropping in those cities that have received the most migrants.”)
Trump promises he would solve immigration issues instantly with executive orders, although his orders during his term faced legal challenges.
In contrast to Trump’s promise to dictate a solution, Biden emphasized that the government should work for the people. In Texas, he noted that the federal government has rushed emergency personnel and funds to the state to combat the deadly wildfires there that have burned more than a million acres, and he urged Congress to pass a law to address border issues, as he has asked it to since he took office.
Such a measure is popular, and earlier this month, Trump undermined a bill that was tilted so far to the right that it drew the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Wall Street Journal editorial board, and the U.S. Border Patrol union.
