Just purchased a big roll of 3M foam tape for the first time from Amazon. Description said 1/2 “ and they sent me 1”. Roll was slightly warped and looks to be in bulk packaging, not original packaging. Also, ridiculously expensive. I live in Canada and I wonder whether others purchase their 3M big roll foam tape. Despite being expensive, I understand it’s better than the brands Michaels sells which I understand is hard to tear and too sticky.

Alarm bells to me: was it through "prime"? If so, send it back as wrong product just to be sure.
I use the foam sheets from Michaels - so much cheaper although it can't be torn.
When I have purchased the actual foam tape I got the smaller roll of it from Home Depot. It is cheaper to buy the big roll, but I wasn't sure how to store that or if I'd like it. I still have some of the first roll because I do use the foam sheets more often.

I wasn’t sure about this one as I thought it might be like the Michaels roll but that’s good to know.😊

I've bought foam tape at Dollarama. They're not big rolls, though. I usually wait to order it until I'm visiting the US, and then I buy off of Amazon US and really stock up since its so inexpensive there. I haven't had a problem with any of my orders from there, and have ordered sizes varying from 1 inch to 1/16 of an inch. Other options are AliExpress and Temu. I have bought it off of AliExpress and it was fine - not large rolls, but you can buy in bulk, like 5 or 10 smaller rolls at a time. They also sell it in small sheets which has been handy for cutting various sizes. If you just do a search for foam tape on either site a lot of options will come up. I also wouldn't hesitate to buy from Canadian scrapbook stores, they all carry the Scrapbook Adhesives foam tape that melanieg linked above, and I've always had good service at any of the stores I've bought from - scrapaddictsonline.ca, Glitter and Ink, the Nik Nook, ScrapbookNerd, R&R Scrapbooking, Papercrafters Workshop - they've all been great.

Send it back and purchase the 3L brand. My spouse gave me some weather-stripping foam tape from his workshop that I also use. It’s not double-sided so I need to apply tape adhesive to one side. Seems to work good so far. Maybe check Home Depot or Rona for curiosity or comparison.
