Maymay made it youtube videoI thought this was a great idea. My smaller paper pads are in storage containers but any scraps or matching embellishments are still a problem. I hate when bits fall out. Would you try this? Or do you have a better storage solution? If so, please share.

Much better than my sandwich ziploc bags that I have to squeeze the pad in plus the scraps! I may have to give this a try. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, that's a great idea. My solution was/is to use the big stamp pockets and cut the top off to make a 6.75x6.75 square. ETA: I totally agree with her that if you keep those small bits with the paper pack they actually get used. Sometimes I'm just looking for a little strip of color and it's easier to see by looking at the front cover of a paper pack. One other tip...If I've used all of a certain paper out of a pack I make a sharpie line through it so I don't go looking for it.

Similar to this, I use stencil pockets -- I think SSS's are 6.5 or 6.75 square (as opposed to Gina K's, which are more like 6.25). I got the idea from JMcG and I like that you can un-bind the pads and put the sheets in separately -- makes it easier to find two patterns that coordinate well for card making. I'll have to see if I have or can find pockets that fit 6x8.

I made my own with my Food Saver. I bought the 8”x20’ roll on Amazon, cut it to 7” long then sealed the bottom. I was able to get 30 bags from a roll. My 6x6 pads are easy it see since it’s clear they’re good and sturdy so no need to worry about a bag ripping.

That's a nice design I just fast forwarded to see what they looked like but it looks like it would work really well stored on a shelf. I use quart sized bags with the top cut off, partly because my drawer is just a little over 6" tall and I wanted them open at the top with no extra fold over bits to get in the way. They're durable enough and I like that they're clear so I can see what's inside, scraps at the front usually. But I also don't really need to store pads for very long because of the way I try to use them up really quickly.

I really like this idea. I currently store my 6x6 paper pads upside down in bins to keep the scraps together inside the paper pad. I like being able to quickly leaf through and see what I have. I might try this and see what I think (especially for a few of the pads that have quite a few scraps inside).

Since I dislike & won't buy paper pads due to the gummy binding, I would prefer manufacturers sell 6x6 &/or 6x8 paper packs with single/loose leaf sheets (like 12x12 collections). Anyone who wants to save scraps from the smaller scale/sized papers could store them in the original plastic packaging, vertical storage bins, or whatever system currently used to keep scraps with his/her/their 12x12 collections.

I store my 8x8 and smaller paper pads in magazine holders from Dollar Tree. I put the scraps in between the paper pads. I have used sandwich bags with a piece of cardstock cut to fit to keep it upright in the holder.

That's a really clever idea and quite simple to make.
I take a scrap piece of card stock, cut it to the width of the paper pad, and about 3" tall. I then tape the bottom and sides to the back chipboard back of the paper pad with clear packing tape, making a pocket for the smaller scraps. I wrap the tape over the edge of the card stock and backing so that I can use the full width of the paper pad. Thin scraps that are still 6" long/wide just get stood on end in the pocket. If I have a sheet that is mostly uncut, I'll just put it into the stack loose. Those don't get lost because it's roughly the same size as the paper pad itself.
ETA: I do the same with a 12 x 12 pad, but the pocket is more like 12” wide by 4” tall.

I made a handful of these for the 6x6 pads that have the most scraps. They were simple to make and they work great! I used some plain CS in a color I'll never scrap with - it came in a pack with other colors that I do use, so it's nice to find a use for that color CS. I'll probably make more of these holders as I work through my 6x6 pads. One small exception is that the holders are a little too narrow for KaiserKraft paper pads. The one KaiserKraft paper pad I have has a lot of scraps - I think I'll try Basket1lady 's idea for that one. TFS!

I’ve followed MayMay Made It for quite awhile now. I do enjoy her videos and project ideas.
I need to make some of the 6x6 and 6x8 size. I also need to figure out how to adapt this for my 12 x12 and 8-1/2x11. Currently my scraps are in a couple of 12 x 12 boxes, but it would be much more efficient to keep the pads and its remnants together.

This is really clever! I just don't know if I'd prefer these or clear bags. So far my 6x6 pads and scraps are just thrown in a bin - it's not working for me.
