These are the exact words I use to describe it all the time! Every blind is our house is closed 24/7. Haven’t decided if we’re doing curtains for our bedroom, if we do they’ll be blackout. Until then? A weighted sleep mask is my savior, there is one in my suitcase at all times. Me three. It’s called reverse seasonal affective disorder. Too much sun and heat affect those who have it. Mi’m 66 and have never enjoyed summer/longer daylight. I spend more time inside during summer than I do in winter. Is this really a thing? I’ve always hated sun and heat, and am pretty impervious to the cold, my house is at 64 right now. But as I’ve gotten older I get so faint in the heat, especially if it’s humid. Even though I take a fairly lukewarm shower I actually have to keep 1/3 - 1/4 of my shower curtain open and I lean out to breathe the cooler, less humid air. We’re going on a huge family vacation to Disney in July (I know, so not my call) and I’m going to have to use a scooter so that I don’t faint. The only time I spend outside in the summer is going to the car, or if we are traveling.

Yes, it’s really a thing. It’s been recognized for a number of years in the medical lit. There is no treatment except stay out of the sun in a cool/cold place. Lots of incidental info via Google.

I'm definitely the opposite. I am a lizard. I like sun and heat and daylight. Which is odd for someone who works nights, I know! I do like having AC to retreat into when needed, but I hate being cold so much I'll eat outside at a restaurant when it's 95 degrees outside just to avoid the 60 degrees air conditioning that every restaurant has it set to. I wear coats to the movies year round, have to wear a jacket at work every night, and dress in layers for all staff in-service meetings. If it was warm outside I know it will be worse than if it was cold because the AC will be running full force. I hate how cold it always is inside public places. The freezer aisle just about does me in in the summer.
