I am planning a meal for a holiday get-together on the 27th similar to "dim sum" style where lots of dishes are offered and you take small portions of what you like.
I want to do some hot appetizers. There will only be 7 people (and 1 is vegan) so I don't want to buy Costco items as there would be too much and I don't have enough freezer space.
I haven't purchased frozen appetizers before so I'm not sure what brands are good or bad. I'm trying to stay away from Mexican because of food intolerances of my IL's.
I'm thinking:
little quiche cups
greek spanakopita triangles (are those the ones with cheese and spinach?
What else???
I'll be serving a wide variety of crackers and several dips (4 pack of humus, pesto cream cheese dip, some tapenades, ranch), full veggie plate, sliced salami and cheese with small dinner rolls, several different bowls of nuts, flat breads and pita breads.
What would you add to this to make it interesting? I think my FIL will blow a gasket because he always wants a full Turkey dinner and since I was volunteered again to hold the holiday meal I decided what I and my kids (teens) would like and what would help me enjoy the day.

You have no vegan hot food, so I'd go with something for that person which isn't cold or raw. Maybe pakora or samosa or gyoza? Trader Joe's and Costco have vegan options and you don't have to buy a pallet sized portion.

Trader Joes has lots of frozen appetizers. My kids love the frozen Gyoza and you just microwave them - super easy!

My daughter just went vegan a few weeks ago so I'm new to finding vegan options.
I told her that I wouldn't be completely catering around her this holiday season since she just dropped the "vegan" news out of nowhere (she went from a regular diet to full vegan overnight). She didn't usually eat large meat portions but she was a big cheese eater and enjoyed weekend eggs and bacon breakfasts. So far, I am absolutely amazed at her will power and obvious strong convictions.
She is 18 so old enough to fend for herself some of the time. I think I'll send her to Trader Joe's to pick out a few items to try. I've had a few of the Trader Joe's frozen meals and did not like them but that was a long time ago.

Another vote for Trader Joe's. They have a nice variety of good quality frozen appetizers, reasonably priced.

I think Pepperidge Farm makes fried pickles that are frozen. We bake them in the oven and serve with ranch.

I love the line from Sweet Home Alabama when Candace Bergan arrives at the family trailer home and the mom says, we just pulled the pickles from the grease and Candace says "oooohhhh, yum???"

I just hosted something similar! I just got the spanakopita from Trader Joes and not one person like it. They all said it had a fishy taste. Everything else I got from Trader Joes and people didn't leave much!

I haven't bought any for a while so I don't remember the brand, but I like the frozen cream cheese wontons from the grocery store that you bake in the oven. Those would be a good addition to what you have described.

mozzarella sticks, bacon wrapped scallops, meatballs, shrimp ring (not hot I know), chicken wings, spring rolls - stuff like that
we do a dinner of appetizers on christmas eve every year. I tried changing it up one year & my family got so upset that I would even suggest it

Anything that is President's Choice (Loblaw grocery chain in Canada), saw these products at Harris Teeter a few times and anything that is M&M Meats (Canadian brand). They are so fresh & delicious.

Tyson Honey BBQ boneless chicken bites. Costcos meatballs in a sweet sour/grape jelly mixture. We usually make our own meatballs but when we're in a hurry we do the Costco ones. The IKEA ones have changed and aren't nearly as good.

My DH is at Costco right now and wasn't able to find any spanakopita. I'm really bummed. I bought a small box from the grocery store on Friday and cooked some of them last night to see if they were any good. They were surprisingly good but much too expensive at $7.99 for a box of 12 tiny little triangles. He also wasn't able to find any vegetarian/vegan options like veggie spring rolls or other items.
He is going to TJ's afterwards and I'm afraid to have him get their spanakopita since a poster mentioned they tasted "fishy". That is my very, very least favorite taste!!!

Trader Joe's Camembert Cheeese & Cranberry Sauce Fillo Bites. It's found in the frozen section with their other apps. Comes 8 to a box and bakes for only 15 minutes. So delicious!!

We have found that dips do not get eaten as much as finger food. We always seem to end up dumping a lot o the dips at the end.
