Good morning.
Well, after the escape room we came home and debriefed. Our brains were in the on position, but not on enough to escape in time. Since there wasn't a party after us, the game master let us finish the room. It was a good one w/lots of puzzles. If you've never done one I highly recommend that you try it. It's one hour of sheer hilarity and frustration. Very fun.
We're heading home this morning. Dh got quite a bit accomplished in a short amount of time.
Dinner will be rechauffe, Chinese food.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend? We will have another quiet weekend at home. I'm totally focused on finishing my puzzle. I don't think we'll do much, because I need to rest after the couple days at mil's house.
What are you up to this weekend?
Enjoy celebrating your birthday w/your ds, cadoodlebug. He was the best birthday present ever.
Wishing everyone a relaxing, fun, happy weekend!

I have never done an escape room but it sounds really fun! I don't have a lot planned today ... I'm going to my girlfriend's place later this morning to pick up some homemade chili ... she wants me to try hers so I will! I don't have much else going on ... Dinner will be veggie chili! Not a lot of plans this weekend other than getting together with my dd's on Sunday.

I've never done an escape room either but I know DD17 really enjoyed it when she went with friends.
My weekly produce box just arrived - sweet potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, grey zucchini, sweet corn, red lettuce, mango, a whole pineapple, and onions. I still have green beans, tomatoes, and 1 each of summer squash and zucchini left from last week so I might end up making zucchini bread with some of the zucchini.
Dinner tonight is fish stick po'boys and I think we'll have mango and zucchini on the side, lol

Good Morning !
Nothing planned for today but maybe work on my planner and look for some new healthy recipes to try. I've been trying to loose some weight but have only lost ounces every week.
For dinner we are having fish with coleslaw.

I have never done an escape room either..... Dinner will be fish(salmon) with baked potato and most likely asparagus, which needs to be used soon!!!
I am working a few hours tomorrow as a general surgeon wants to put on an elective procedure and they need a team to do the case. The team scheduled to work are there for emergent cases not elective. The extra $$ will help pay for the new sunglasses I ordered yesterday, I need darker lenses, as I need to be more cognizant of protecting my eyes.
Belated Birthday Wishes cadoodlebug🥳🥳🥳🥳 Enjoy celebrating with your DS!!

Happy International Women's Day to the dinner tribe!!! 💐 Glad that the escape room was fun for ya'll! Neither of us has done one and I'm not about to start now. DH (an engineer) approaches everything in life like it is a mega multi-billion dollar project, not extremely competitive and has a propensity to suck the joy out of things with his practicality. I'm more of the 'by the seat of your pants, let's just throw things at it' type - and extremely competitive. If I did one it would be with friends, just not him! This morning they are adjusting both of the garage doors (due to very shoddy installation during covid) so I am stuck at home. Once DH heads out for the afternoon I plan to get some sewing done. Also need to finish up the last part of the income tax return. Absolutely no clue what dinner will be. Will have to see what DH is interested in. Hope everyone has a great day and weekend planned!

scrapmaven I'm glad you had fun. I'm afraid I wouldn't have the patience for an escape room. Not me mostly but probably the people I'd be going with. My husband tends to put on his dominant, know-it-all face during projects and I'm afraid he'd do that while in an escape room and we'd leave divorced. 🤣 My husband is incredibly easy going unless and until his patience is tried and his intellect is threatened. I think we will have rechauffe pasta from last night.

bklyngal62 if you are looking for recipes, the library is your friend. My library has just about anything I could ask for in terms of cookbooks. I get in that section. 😉

Good evening all, I’ve had a fairly busy day. Mid-morning I headed into the city to do some shopping. There were a couple of things I needed to get for DS to take back with me and I am also looking for new shoes and a new lightweight coat or jacket. I also wanted to go to the main food markets to get meals for tonight and the weekend. Of all that, I managed to get DS the stickers he wanted for his new car (he supports a lesser known German football team), some fish, chicken and wurst for my meals and nothing else. I saw some shoes I liked, but was wearing hand knit socks and I want to try them on with regular socks. Oh well, I have to be back in the city on Tuesday for a hair appointment, so hopefully I’ll have better luck then. I have never done an escape room - like jeremysgirl, I think my DH would be difficult to work with on one, as he tends to get stuck on one train of thought, but otherwise it sounds fun. My weekend is fairly busy. Tomorrow afternoon I am sorting books for the big English book sale that takes place not far from me twice a year. I discovered them when we were looking to dump books when we moved and have done sorting and sales for two of the three sales since. Sunday is once again my Communion class, then after Mass we have one of our major charity fundraisers for the year - Soup Sunday. 10-12 people make a huge pot of soup each and bring it along. The community arranges for bread and bread rolls from a nearby bakery, and we get to eat soup until we are done (or the soup runs out, but that rarely happens). For this we are asked to donate what we would pay to go out to a nice breakfast or brunch. We generally bring in about €1500, which goes to a local refugee center and helps them provide activities for the children and teens they get.

So I posted, then stood up to get things for dinner started and realised I didn't tell you what I am planning to eat! I bought some nice fish mix at the market and it is going to become paella (or some sort of near approximation).

DS will arrive this morning some time. Lunch will be pizza and hopefully dungeness crab for dinner. We have 2-hours of Survivor to watch. We have some fun stuff planned including opening presents! We did an Escape Room for DH's sister's 80th BD party last fall. We had two groups by random draw ~ DH was in the other group but DS and I were together. We were 2 items away from Escape and the other group was 3 items so we called ourselves the winners. TGIF! Enjoy the weekend everyone! This was appropriate for today!

I read about your accident last night lucyg I'm so sorry. My car was like 4 months old and I was hit in the grocery store parking lot. While My car was parked and I was inside. I still have not gotten it fixed. Because I'm lazy. Not for any other reason.

Going out at night for a couple hours of fun? erm … that’s a new concept for me. For the 90% of you who missed my post last night, my car got sideswiped yesterday and the whole passenger side is all scraped up. My mom is busy telling everyone she nearly got killed. (narrator: she did not) No one was injured, thankfully. My car is only 10 months old and has under 9K miles on it. To say I am irate is an understatement. One of my nieces is visiting and dinner will be at what used to be my friend’s Mexican restaurant, now under new ownership.

cadoodlebug Happy belated birthday! **GypsyGirl** Happy early birthday! lucyg Glad you are okay! We have some chicken left for dinner tonight, but I may find something at the store that sounds more appealing. Hah. DH made a cake on his lunch break, and I'll ice it when it's chilled. We also have some ice cream mix chilling in the fridge too.

I think I forgot to mention something yesterday. We always buy ice cream cakes for birthdays. Years ago DH used to buy them but they are getting harder to find so the past few years I buy them. I found the Turtle Caramel yesterday so I bought it. DH played golf and was late getting home. Yep, he bought one too. And swears he always buys them. Um, no. Anyway, his is good through December so we'll save it for his birthday in July. If it lasts that long.

Happy Friday! We made it! lucyg so sorry to hear about your accident in your almost new car. How frustrating. Thanks to everyone who gave me good wishes on being a sluggish ball of suck yesterday. The weather was so stormy and that didn't help. I feel much better today and I'm taking Monday off as a mental health day so I should have a nice weekend. I've got a few things I want to accomplish: Clean out the fridge, start pruning my roses back, start cleaning out the garage. I'll probably watch quite a bit of TV and play Disney Dreamlight Valley. I finally unlocked the last biome so I'm anxious to see where that takes me. Dinner tonight will be leftover steak with roasted onions and potatoes. Hope you all have a great day!

Sorry to hear about your accident lucyg.. so frustrating!! was out skiing today.. beautiful sunny weather and corduroy snow.. (that's when you ski it right after it has been groomed (by a big machine). then did a few runs with dh on his ski bike. he is still figuring out how to load better.. so I laid down in the snow on my back and took some video of him loading on chairlift. I hope it helps him.
dinner is chicken something. I had leftovers last night and dh had a steak he cooked up in a pan.. then he added a peanut noodle salad and had stirfry.

We ate out last night and my dinner was amazing. It was a giant plate of mashed potatoes covered in pulled pork and topped with mac and cheese. Definitely not a diabetic persons meal but I didn’t eat all of it so I have supper for tonight.
DS and family left for Florida last night. They stopped for a rest throughout the night and this morning they were driving through Tennessee. I’m waiting for an update from them. I’m in charge of the cats while they are gone.
It’s supposed to rain for the next 2 days and it’s just started. Another ugly mess in the backyard.
Raising my hand as another chili hater!
For those who watch Survivor: I really don’t like the new longer episodes. I watched the latest episode last night and dozed through it. There is way too much tribe stuff and not enough challenges. With the longer episodes, they need to bring back the separate reward challenge.
