I did a search in the forum but only found posts from pre-2020, so I have no doubt the experience/cost/everything would be different now, but I thought I'd ask.
I got a random (targeted) facebook post on my newsfeed about a scrapbooking cruise from a company called Cruise & Crop. I had heard of these existing but I didn't realize it was a current thing that was still offered. Naturally, the website itself has very little practical information included (price, etc.) but it got me curious if it's something I should add to my "Bucket List" in the future.
So I'm wondering -- has anyone here gone on a scrapbooking cruise before? (with this company or otherwise). If otherwise, what company was it? If you're comfortable, I'd love to know a ballpark cost for this type of trip? Also, just was it worth it? Did you go alone or with friends? Was it fun or not worth it? For context, I've never gone on a cruise before to begin with so I know that being a "cruise person" might affect the experience either way, but I'm super curious and thought I'd ask. And, if you're like me and you've never done anything like that before... would you? I'm just so curious about the idea and thought I'd ask y'all!! Thanks!

I went on a scrappy cruise a few weeks ago.
Cruise and Crop basically works with the cruise line to rent out their conference room and the hosts put on the classes.
So it depends on your hosts on how the scrappy portion works.
For mine, we had classes on sea days only. The room was open 24/7 and we went in and out as we pleased.
Cost is the cost of your cruise plus whatever fee your host requires.
This was my first cruise and I went alone (but knew the hosts and some of the cruisers). Some cruisers brought spouses or relatives or friends.
I GOT TO SWIM WITH DOLPHINS. Best non-cruise ship moment. Best cruise ship moment was being alone at the top part just looking around and seeing nothing but sea. Amazing.
Loved cruising so much my husband and I booked one for our anniversary later this year. This time a Disney Cruise. So yay!

I love cruising and love scrapbooking, but I've found most of the ones leaving from US ports are from FL or TX and I refuse to give either any money. I keep my eye open because I would do one from the West coast in a heartbeat! I wouldn't hesitate to go on my own, but DW also likes cruising so would be happy to accompany me.

I just started looking into going on the same cruise, I’m pretty sure, that steakgoddess went on. I watch her on YouTube and when I started looking around for future cruises I saw that two YouTubers that I watch are the teachers on a cruise next February. I asked my sister and some scrapbooking friends if they were interested in going. I still need to work on some numbers but my sister and I, and maybe more friends, are seriously considering going. The cruise we’re looking at leaves from Galveston and has two stops in Mexico and one in Honduras. I would love to hear more about scrapbooking cruises if anyone wants to share more info.

Just out of curiosity, what’s the round about cost for one of these cruises. I find it so strange that they don’t list prices on the website. You have to call just to get a price? I’m wondering if that’s so they can sell you on it or if the prices fluctuate with demand.

I find it so strange that they don’t list prices on the website. Agreed, it seems very strange they don't list the price on the website. I'm curious how much stuff people bring for the scrapping portion of the cruise? I couldn't imagine hauling my stuff, especially if I'm flying.

While there is likely a flat fee for the scrapbooking part of the cruise, the staterooms themselves have many price points dependent on which room and area of the ship the stateroom is located. That is the fluctuating part. At the very least they could give the absolute minimum priced stateroom so you at least have an idea of where the cost starts.

cruiseandcrop.com/ScrappinOnAShip2025.htmlIf you choose a cruise the stateroom prices are listed at the bottom. There’s a set fee for the scrapbooking portion. Edited to add, I just looked again and most say to call for the price I thought they were listed last time I looked.

I went on one and never will again. The ship didn't reserve the room we were supposed to have. They put us in the bottom of the ship in the disco. We had to pack everything up by 5 p.m. YOu don't get to enjoy any of the activities on the ship. I keep my scrapbook retreats to resorts and/or hotels. If we decide to cruise again, we'll just cruise.

I think if I was single or didn't have people who wanted to take cruises with me, it sounds like a good deal. I hate sea days, so scrapping would be fun those days.
