Its not original, but my happy place is the beach. I have used imagery of the beach to relax before. I think I'm going to go on Wednesday - the weather should be beautiful.

Floating on the water anywhere (lake, ocean, river, even a good lazy river/pool) Minnesota North Shore of Lake Superior on the rocky shore listening to the waves Being in the mountains---especially with water Reading a book on my couch with the fireplace on and the snow falling Sitting anywhere amicably chatting/hanging with my kids (teen boys) Eating a good meal out with close friends
Kind of a strange side note: I have mixed feelings about the ice arena. It isn't a "happy" place in that I feel stress when my son plays (hockey goalie), so it is weird that it comes to mind, but I know someday I will see it has a happy place/memory---a lot of emotions and memories tied up (good, bad and complicated) with the rink, hockey and all that goes with that. Even when he hasn't been there for a few weeks during off season, there is a pull. Hockey has a certain intensity here in Mn. He also plays lacrosse and my other son competes in robotics....they are nice memories, but don't hold "happy place" status or overwhelm me emotionally in the same way.

I have two happy places. The first one is Disney World...there is just something about seeing the castle that makes my heart happy. The second is the beach. I just love the sun and the sound of the waves. When I am stressed I try to picture myself at one of these places.

Yosemite was my happy place for the last 20+ years. Now that we have moved from CA and are in Knoxville TN, I'm still looking for my spot. The Smokey Mountains call to me often (It's a short 45 min drive) and I'm growing to love them but to say I have found my happy place hasn't happened just yet.

I have two happy spaces - firstly my work room where I sew, quilt, sort fabric, scrapbook and perhaps do not much.
my second is our RV - I love driving it and just being somewhere I would not normally be. There are no expectations of me and I can just enjoy wherever we are.
