I very seldom print photos with a white border around them, but I like the look on pages done in tutorials.
Do you print with borders? If so, do you always scrap the photo complete with border or do you sometimes cut the border off?
If you don't print with borders, do you mat the photos individually or in groups before attaching to the page? Sometimes? Or always?
I am full of questions today...

Not often, because I usually end up cutting them off, using a different colored cardstock border, or matting two photos squished together so a border won't work.

I don't print with white borders, although I do like the look on other people's layouts.
I am all over the map when it comes to matting...sometimes I mat individually, sometimes sometimes I mat as a group, sometimes I do not mat at all.

I voted never but I think I probably have occasionally - probably for black and white reprints. I am all over the map when it comes to matting...sometimes I mat individually, sometimes sometimes I mat as a group, sometimes I do not mat at all yes- this is me as well.

I love the look of white borders and almost always print with white borders.

it depends on the project. Pocket pages in a 12x12 - almost never. But in smaller pocket pages I think the border helps it not feel so squeezed and cramped.
With a non-pocket layout it just depends on what I like better for that page’s vibe.

I love white borders, but don't have a good quality photo printing place that easily formats to print them right now (if you have one--please recommend!!) I use them with the borders, but also love to print with them to make smaller sized prints (cut down/off the border.)

I almost always print photos with a white border. I like the look and the white border saves me from adding an additional mat to my photo.

I used to once in a while but I haven't done it in years so I answered never. I figure I can always mat the picture if I want a border.

I love the look of white borders and print with them. Then I may double mat with another color, I can’t help myself!

If I’m using them in pocket pages, always.
If I’m putting them in my planner, never.

I would like to but find they never print evenly around all four sides, so I tend to not do it and mat with cardstock instead. I do use a white mat the majority of the time.
ETA: if I'm doing a collage print, I never do, as I typically cut the collage apart as the photos are often not for the same layout.

Sometimes I do when I’m putting them into my PL album and want more than just a picture there. Generally not for a traditional 12x12. I do may often though.

I do like a white border so I'm happy when I remember to order them that way. I like the way it looks and it saves me the step of matting pictures. I voted Sometimes because I do it when I remember.

99% of the time, I do borders.
I also sometimes scrap a photo, especially multi photos, with no mats, or just one main photo with a mat.

If you don't print with borders, do you mat the photos individually or in groups before attaching to the page? Sometimes? Or always? I never print with borders because it's more annoying to have to remove the border if I DON'T want it than it is to mat a photo on white if I do want it. Also, I think the printed borders are too wide, and then it's frustrating to trim them down. I'm not like Shimelle who can use scissors to trim things down! I almost always do mat on white however - or, at least - that's my current preference. It comes and goes!

I always print with a white border for my Project Life albums, and usually print with a white border for 12x12 scrapbooks.

I would say I am about 75% print with white border and 25% without. I feel it helps the photo stand out against the paper, makes it pop!
I don't do borders when using pocket pages for 4x6, 3x4 photos. I want the entire photo to take up the pocket.

I don’t print with borders because I’m usually printing multiple photos on 8.5x11 paper.
I always mat photos at least once.

It’s been so many years since I printed a photo to scrap, that I can’t actually remember whether I printed them with borders or not!
I can tell you that I put a 20px white stroke (border) on probably 99% of the photos I scrap. I much prefer the look of a white border on photos on my pages.
ETA: I selected Always on the poll, because it’s closer to my 99% than “Sometimes for effect”.

I don't have photos printed with a white border, mostly because when I want a border (which is close to 98% of the time), I just mat the photo. I almost always mat with CS in a color that coordinates (or contrasts) with my LO, hardly ever white.

Typically, I prefer borderless matte photos with a narrow white (or another neutral, such as vanilla, brown, grey, or black) textured cardstock mat; sometimes I double or triple mat photos with (an)other (often textured) cardstock. On rare occasion, I do not mat photos (but may add 2-3 layers of hidden cardstock for dimension to the unmatted photo).

I always print a white border except for photos larger than 4x6. I see YouTubers print their photo, then mat with white cardstock, and wonder why they didn’t just print with a border? Saves time and cardstock.
