MFT brought back my favorite Converse sneaker die that had been retired for several years. I've shared a lot of cards using it and usually get questions about where it get it. Currently out of stock but there's a notify me button so I assume/hoping they'll restock. www.mftstamps.com/collections/new/products/lld-all-star-high-top-die-namicsThere's also a stamp set I think I might get since the die has been a fav for years but I've struggled to find matching sentiments. www.mftstamps.com/collections/new/products/lld-high-top-sentimentsI will mention that the eyelets are as fiddly as can be. I think one time I listened to an hour long show and only got eyelets onto 6 shoes during that time. I used a stiletto and fingernails but it takes a fair bit of patience and good lighting. The lacing isn't bad though, and the overall effect is so cool! You can cut fancy paper, glitter cardstock, patterned paper... it's really fun to design your own dream Converse. I really hope they're restocking this.

It sold out fast. I checked around 7 pm the day of the release and it was already gone. I have my fingers crossed that they will restock. I just checked my junk mail. They restocked this morning and it’s already sold out again. Huge bummer. Do you use a crop-o-file for eyelets joblackford?

That would be a cute die to have, and a Cropodile would make the eyelets super easy to do. Will keep an eye on this, but I normally only buy dies from only a few companies because of shipping costs.

Do you use a crop-o-file for eyelets a Cropodile would make the eyelets super easy to do I don't use real metal eyelets - I think they'd be too big (?? or am I misremembering the size of eyelets?). These eyelets are cut from paper as part of the die and the hole in the middle is just big enough for my skinny awl/pokey tool to fit inside so I can stack all the eyelets on the tool and then slide them onto the glue. (I can take a photo of how I do it if that doesn't make sense.) But for perspective the Spellbinders Tool 'n One's pokey end is too thick to put through the eyelet holes past the first tapered bit. They're reeeaaalllly small.

Eyelets by jo.blackford, on Flickr Left - the Tool n One is too fat to be useful. Right - the skinnier awl holds the paper eyelets so I can put glue on the shoe around the hole and slide the eyelet into place with my thumb as I poke the awl into the hole. (and for scale, I have fairly skinny fingers) It's fiddly enough that one of my most dedicated cardmaker friends just doesn't use them. Even though I have a ton of patience and good eyesight (and am pedantic enough that I can't leave them off) I make a handful of shoes in a batch and then avoid the die for months afterwards.

Has anyone heard anything about MFT restocking? I’m considering that I can type up my own sentiments very easily, inspired by the ones in the stamp set linked above. I would probably only use a few of the stamps if I’m being honest with myself (although I love the little circular logo star stamps).

FYI, Frantic Stamper currently has this die and stamp in stock. I’ve always had a great experience ordering through them.

Thanks, joblackford. I jumped over there and grabbed it up!
Now THAT's the way you sell stuff to people like me! Create a shortage, then release the product for a short run, then make it unavailable again, and then... (Not saying MFT planned it, but it certainly worked LOL) Doesn't hurt to have a talented person like YOU creating stuff with the product for the rest of us to drool over...

I got sucked in even though I had looked at the sentiments back when Frantic Stamper was mentioned above and decided I could just lift/be inspired by a few favorites and print in a font from my computer. But it's those little star circle emblems that got me! And I figured I can use a few of the sentiments for more than just sneaker cards. And of course then I checked my wishlist and added a birthday die, then almost spent ~$30 on a stamp that I love but don't want to color. Luckily I was still 60c short of free shipping so I had a chance to think that through and took the stamp out. The shipping was less than $5 for 2 items so no need to spend $30 extra for something I'll only be frustrated with... For anyone who would rather stamp and color, there's a stamp from Picket Fence (retired) that I also had on my wishlist. $20 seemed like a bit much for one image, and the sentiments didn't appeal for my purposes. But it could work with the MFT sentiments too. I found a small store still selling it... www.madeonmainashville.com/shop/Stamping/Picket-Fence-Studios/p/Picket-Fence-Walk-Crawl-or-Run-Stamp.htm

Not about the die but converse. In case you didn’t know, you can order customize Converse. Mine should arrive in a few days. I'm super excited Attachments:

Here are my shoes in action. I simplified the lacing up. No way could I deal with those tiny little diecut reinforcements when I am so tired today--or EVER, to be honest --so I simply stitched a thread through to every second hole from the top, then continued the same thread through the alternate holes to end up at the top again so I could tie the bow. That's a great way to do it grammadee - and such fun paper to use for the shoes! I really love how that works on the page. I don't really think the little eyelets make much difference in the end, especially not to an outside viewer who would never know the die came with teeny-tiny little sanity-testers
