I'm getting a Big Shot for Christmas. What else will I need in order to run embossing folders through? I'm at Hobby Lobby and they only have embossing pads for the Sizzix Texture Boutique and not for anything else. Do I need an embossing pad? If so will the ones for the Boutique work?

If you are going to buy embossing folders you do not need anything other than the two clear cutting plates that I believe you get with the machine( I did with mine back in the day).
The embossing mats are for texture plates and other things you may want to emboss with such a die.

I also bought the metal shim plate to use with dies. It helps a lot to get all of the tiny pieces out of the die.

Although this is not for embossing folders, I HIGHLY recommend the magnetic cutting plate. I picked it up at Hobby Lobby with a coupon and I use it with ALL of my wafer thin dies to hold them in place without having to use a pice of washi. It's awesome!
