The swim trunks, swim suit, dresses, shorts... without a person wearing them. There is a current Simple Stories summer line with an empty pair of shorts sticker that is where I came up with this question.
I guess it's better than having a weird person icon in a swimsuit on a page? But I can't think outside the "kid running around the yard naked" or "we went swim suit shopping" box. And I don't think I've would ever scrap either of those things...
Ideas?

I’ve seen lines with pictures of dresses, shirts, etc. bathing shorts are kind of like underwear. So I agree—no shorts = naked child running around the beach. Odd icon.

I've used them in embellishment clusters on swimming pages. They're not an embellishment I particularly want in a line, but I'm happy I've managed to use the ones I had.

I haven't got any examples to share, but I have bought several Humble & Create summer kits that have swim suits and other summer clothing such as sun hats, sandals, thongs (flip flops) and sun glasses in them. They look great in a cluster like the gorgeous examples that christinec68 and Chinagirl828 have shared. I have also seen them used on a banner / bunting.

Maybe use them to replace a letter in a title? For example: S W (swimsuit to replace the “I”) M P (goggles or sunglasses to replace the “OO”) L Depending on the size of the icons of course! Umbrella to replace a “T” Thongs/flip flops to replace “LL” Sun to replace an “O”

I think they are cute. I've never thought about them other than as great for using in a cluster.

love the samples, christinec68 and Chinagirl828 ! The first time I saw icons like these, it was Dear Lizzy I think, and they were hanging on a clothesline, like they would be if you were camping. I tend to use them as parts of clusters for beach pages, like this one

I just use them like any other embellishments. I've never thought of them as anything else.

I just use them like any other embellishments. I've never thought of them as anything else. Me too. To me they are the same as any other beach embellishment. I just put them in a cluster with several other beach themed things. They are just a symbol of the beach or pool. I just bought that Fancy Pants Beachside Boardwalk line with the one piece bathing suits on a paper and the stickers. I don't think it is going to be the easiest paper to use but I'm looking forward to trying. The Fancy Pants lines are so weird that I thought they would be an interesting challenge. I also have literally thousands of beach/boardwalk photos collected over the years so why not?

Well, I have some photos from a vacation where a whole rental house full of extended family left all the kids' swimsuits on the deck railing to dry and a storm came up while we were out elsewhere and blew all the kids' swimsuits and towels into the trees...I bought some of those icons for that! We were in the Smoky mountains in a tall (partially stilted) rental cabin on the side of a mountain so most of the swimsuits & towels were no longer accessible once they blew into the trees. That was fun! [not!]
Other than that I'd use them for clusters/embellishments on a beach or pool page.

Some of the clothes bother me more than others but I think my favorite use would be hung on a clothesline/as some kind of pennant or bunting. But all of the examples here using them in a cluster look good to me, perhaps because they're part of a finished page. I'm less critical of elements once they're part of a finished whole.
I do have some icons that I just struggle to use on my own projects though, and I think I've given away my fair share of swimsuit pieces from die cut packs.
